So some inside baseball. This edit was particular difficult for some reason. It was also the first time I encountered issues with copyright on a Tyler Perry film. For those who didn't notice our habit yet, I try to release these every Tuesday and I was super disappointed that I couldn't fulfill that for you guys on time. Between fine tuning the edit and then having to further edit it down to deal with the copyright issues all took much longer than normal. I was working on this the last couple of days until midnight last night. My only hope is that it's enjoyable! As always, please do recommend whatever ya'll would like us to watch next whether it's Tyler Perry or anything else!
I know y'all are just waiting for Orlando to come calm the issues for these couples 😅 The elderly couple is played by Cicely Tyson & Lou Gosset Jr. Both have passed but are considered iconic legends by the black culture as they were pioneers in the theater & films. Lastly, each Phil is mentioned y'all have missed it...in the lawyer's office, Gavin's lawyer is Phill...Diane adressed him by name. I don't remember which installment of this film, but many of the actors where going thru a divorce in real life. Also, Janet lost her brother during filming "Too" fueling her emotional performance. You're welcome 😊
The scene where Janet wrecks the house with the golf club is actually pretty intense. Janet’s emotions were VERY real here. It was shot just as Michael passed away in LA but she was in Atlanta shooting this movie. Tyler Perry gave her free rein to release her emotions during the scene and they kept it for the final cut.
Also, Janet said in an interview that Tyler told her if she couldn't continue due to Michael's death, he understood, but she refused and continued filming, which shows just how strong she was.
I think a lot of people missed when Marcus was confronted by her at his job and he said “nobody” he didn’t say “you know what I’m saying”..so it showed he was telling the truth

I'm glad someone else said that hospital "fix it" scene was weird as hell. And throwing in "The Rock' was also weird as hell too. Like what? Typer Perry loves to go off the deep end. It had potential to be a really great film but then it just gets ridiculous out of nowhere.
Right. Like no, everyone needs therapy...ESPECIALLY Patricia. We're not gonna speed past this like you didn't cause the death of not only your child, but now your husband. And now you get to go to dinner with The Rock???? Oh no Ma'am!! If you don't be single for a while and get some help for your mental health!!! 😂😂😂
Lmao yeah that’s why I was scared of them watching this one. But their reaction was kinda hysterical. This movie was the start of Tyler Perry movies having these random ass endings and I’m still trying to figure out till this day why he decided to go down that path lol.

Enemy Mines was an excellent movie. Roots is THE miniseries that all miniseries should aspire to be. Mrs Tyson and Mr Gossett were both phenomenal actors ❤
Michael Jackson had recently passed away . Janet was very emotional during the scene with the golf club. She admitted that it helped her express her anger over losing him and the emotions were authentic.
The older couple connection was foreshadowing for Patricia and Gavin, but it was also a parallel to Mike, Shiela, and Troy... the rekindled relationship. It was somewhat of a re-direct/red-herring which could've driven Mike to try harder.
Also the house golf club scene she filmed it after MJ died, so all that emotions and pain was very real, Tyler Perry told a story about how when they filmed it she was swing it so fast and so hard that she didn’t realize she had clipped her leg or ankle something an soon as they yelled cut she seen it was all blown up and swollen from hitting herself, but she didn’t feel it cus she’s was so deep into it. I love Janet Jackson but everyone in these movies are fantastic
The reason you felt that way at the end of the movie with Gavin is because you didn’t get what you wanted-him suffering for his actions, whether through revenge or accountability. When you don’t get that, you’re left with confusion, sorrow, and grief. Also, with Gavin, no one acknowledged throughout the movie that he was crying out for help, especially from his wife, who was emotionally neglecting and intolerant of him when all he really wanted was a hug and reassurance. But he didn’t get that, which led to his anger and depression. When something truly humiliating happens, like what occurred at the end of the movie, someone might feel like they want to die-hence, why he did what he did.
@jstar7917 exactly. People don't understand that he was trying to get her to FEEL. Instead, she took offense and didn't handle her mental health. He should NOT have burned those pictures, but she should have been wise enough to see that she wasnt the only person suffering from loss. She ran from thag entire situation and straight into a brick wall.
@@PepperJade93I don’t think he’s in any position to make her feel, his behavior was down abusive and destructive. She’s not coping well, backing off. But his behavior was far far worse.
@Seriestalkswithus nah. She blindsided him with a divorce, at the end of a couples trip, in front of their friends no less, was proof that she had made up her mind and checked out of their marriage a long time ago. He was hurting too. Patty didn't take any of her own advice that she'd given her friends and turned cold towards Gavin. She didn't explain, refused to explain, why she was feeling the way she felt. Instead, she ran from it. While Gabin wasn't innocent, Patty did neglect her husband, and herself for that matter. She found comfort in her title and was used to having the answers for everything. But when it was time to buckle down, face hard truths and do work, she checked out. The loss of a child is not easy on ANYONE, but it still has be dealt with, and you can't abandon your life as a way to cope. It catches back up to you.
@@PepperJade93 I understand that but his way of handling it was abusive. The truth is she may have never healed with him because it was to much. That’s true for many divorced couples who lost kids. It tends to cause divorces. She did not want to fight for the marriage, she wanted to leave it. And his way of fighting for it was extremely toxic. Sometimes it’s best to let go, otherwise these types of thing’s continuously escalate as it did here. I don’t think either of them are innocent. But I don’t remember her getting physical or purposefully trying to run him out of his job until he got abusive with her while he was drunk.
@Seriestalkswithus I understand what you're saying, but she manipulated him by not being honest and trying to downplay her feelings (and his). She really poked the bear, and that wasn't fair to him. Everything that happened started the moment she spoke for both of them by saying they agreed to get a divorce, when he knew nothing about that and also when she tried to slide past him again during their divorce proceedings and she didn't want to split the money she made from her books. You don't back people into a corner and expect them not to react. I think she thought that because she was initially being calm about everything, he should have just "gone with it"... but instead, he pushed back and lashed out in his own way. I don't blame her at all for feeling that she needed to leave, and I agree about her probably not being able to heal with him. But she should have relayed that. The loss of their child was shocking enough. How should he have felt about losing his wife and in such a nonchalant way? Like I said, I'm not saying he was right, but he had finally reacted to her lack of communication with him. And she pushed back so hard instead of trying to find common ground...that it resulted in yet another death. I feel realistically that loss may have sent her even more over the edge, especially since he died fighting with her.
I was really impressed with Janet Jackson's role in this one because this was during the time when her brother Michael died which was 3 days after filming/production started especially in those intense emotional scenes she had to do.
1:08:43 boondocks has a banned episode where they talk about Tyler Perry and his writing and they called him out pretty much they called him out to the extent where they had that episode banned because of Tyler Perry was not happy about that episode because it called him out
I’m giggling like a school girl because I waited so patiently for this!!! First time requesting a movie. I would love to see your reaction to Madea’s Big Happy Family
@45:18 an important note about this scene. Janet had JUST gotten news that Michael had died before she was supposed to shoot this scene so the emotions were real and raw at the point
This movie was filmed in the middle of Michael Jackson dying. So Janet’s emotions with the golf clubs were very much real. Tyler changed the ending last minute because there was supposed to be a funeral scene for Gavin but Tyler thought that was inappropriate due to Michael Jackson just dying and having to put Janet through that
Fun Fact, that scene with Janet and Gaven when he she had the golf club was filmed in one take. It was also the night of her brother's (Michael Jackson) passing away in LA but she was filming in Atlanta. They had to hold the filming for a year after that but all of the emotions were raw in that moment. He allowed her to release her emotions in anyway she knew how. An amazing film truly.
I was an extra in this movie and during production Michael Jackson had passed. I believe that Janet channeled the pain of her brother’s passing in that scene when she lost her temper. I could be wrong but that’s what I suspect.
@@CinePals It was fun, and I’ve done it a few times for some of his productions. The one moment that stuck in my head was the airport scene where Tasha Smith’s character cursed out Michael Jai White’s character. In between takes, Tyler Perry told Tasha to get a little crazier. She smiled and said, “That’s all you have to say,” which made the cast and crew bust out laughing.
Yeah looking back-- the wrap of this film is kinda quick and a little off. I always remember Janet's performance because the filming happened right when Michael Jackson died. I'm glad you guys are continuing this journey. It's cool to hear you guys commentary on relationships in this series. Would love to see you guys dive into the Best Man series, Madea Goes to Jail is another good one, and Waiting to Exhale.
It's a quality vs quantity issue. I couldn't sustain the quality of these videos everyday, it would have to be way less crafted. Important/great moments would definitely get lost in the process. So I could do it more often with way less "love" put into it, but I don't think the videos would be as enjoyable.
Something you guys may want to keep in mind is that Janet's performance was pretty natural during the golf club and stair scenes was due to the loss of Michael around that time 😢
I saw this movie in theaters, and laughed/cried, especially knowing Janet was being serious in most of these scenes since MJ had just passed. Also RIP Louis Gossett Jr. and Cicely Tyson, 💔🙏🏾♥️. P.S. Phil is Gavin’s divorce lawyer. Next movie suggestions: Precious, For Colored Girls, What’s Love Got To Do With It?, Enough, Madea Goes to Jail, Madea’s Big Happy Family, I Can Do Bad All By Myself, Django Unchained, Poetic Justice……..and that’s all I have in my head right now. 😁
The 2nd one is definitely sadder, and Janet, along with Jill Scott, really had us in our feelings from the trauma the characters had Michael jai White is a martial artist, so it makes sense that he is so fit
Hey! Just found you all and love the channel already. Just a note, this movie filmed when Michael died. If I’m remembering correctly, there were interviews where Tyler said he wrapped and changed the ending to allow Janet to grieve. The original script is much different! That’s why it feels like a different movie toward the end

Janet Jackson’s acting in this movie always makes me emotional. I hope she acts in more films
The color purple reference !! You guys are getting good 😂😂
I was really impressed with Janet Jackson's role in this one because this was during the time when her brother Michael died which was 3 days after filming/production started especially in those intense emotional scenes she had to do.
1:08:43 boondocks has a banned episode where they talk about Tyler Perry and his writing and they called him out pretty much they called him out to the extent where they had that episode banned because of Tyler Perry was not happy about that episode because it called him out
Word salad
Janet's scenes were so real because Michael had just died right before filming and it was a good release for her.
Acrimony is the next best thing Tyler Perry made by far. Caused so many controversial debates amongst men and women.
And they should add a female on the reaction to the discussion more spicy 😂😂😂 it's a great movie
PLEASE ACRIMONYYYY!!!!!
ACRIMONY TRASH!
yeah like how she end up in the water out of nowhere.
@@jclark21218 shesssh stop spoiling 😂🤣😂
how did i forget how much more *chaotic* the sequel is jfc !
I’m giggling like a school girl because I waited so patiently for this!!! First time requesting a movie. I would love to see your reaction to Madea’s Big Happy Family
Byraaaaaaaannnnnnnn!!!! 😂
Great reaction guys 😊 Now there is Daddy's little girls. Madea goes to jail.Madeas big happy family and Acrimony
“ oh f#ck hes got Parkinson’s 😮” 😂😂😂😂😂
ACRIMONY! ACRIMONY! ACRIMONY! One of the best written Tyler Perry films of his collection!
Not the color purple flashback 😂😂😂😂
I cant wait for them to get to the lunch scene where angela is going off about keeping tabs on Marcus heart rate 😂😂😂😂
A vote for a fall from grace or acrimony! I just love seeing people react to those 😂
SO GLAD YOU ARE REACTING TO THIS!!!
SAME
55:19 movie fact….Janet’s scenes were filmed around the time her brother Michael died and her “melt down” was genuine.
Yes! I've been waiting for this. Now you need to do Think Like a Man and Deliver Us from Eva!
Those are not tyler perry movies.
@@TylerGage-op5hsthey can expand to non-Tyler movies hopefully cause DUFE is so good.
Yesssssa! Think Like A Man!
Ooohhhh THINK LIKE A MAN IS A GOOD ONEEEE!!
Cicely Tyson 12/1924-01/2021
The icon yall said you recognize but didn't know. 96 years old. She's our Black version of the iconic Betty White. ❤❤❤
I was an extra in this movie and during production Michael Jackson had passed. I believe that Janet channeled the pain of her brother’s passing in that scene when she lost her temper. I could be wrong but that’s what I suspect.
How was the experience of shooting?
@@CinePals It was fun, and I’ve done it a few times for some of his productions. The one moment that stuck in my head was the airport scene where Tasha Smith’s character cursed out Michael Jai White’s character. In between takes, Tyler Perry told Tasha to get a little crazier. She smiled and said, “That’s all you have to say,” which made the cast and crew bust out laughing.
How was Janet Jackson like in person?
THE BEST MAN, BEST MAN HOLIDAY AND THE LAST CHAPTERS!! Sooo good please 🙏🏽
Yeeeeessssssss
💯
Yesss!!
That actress is Cicely Tyson and she is Hollywood Royalty. I highly recommend you all get into her filmography.
I was flabbergasted but I love them😂😭❤
Its the healthy laughs these fellas are sharing that gets me lol 😆 😂 🤣.

This was around the time Michael Jackson died. Tyler told Janet to release her emotions if she needs to; tears are real.
I think they filmed this after Michael did so that’s why Janet has so much emotion in this film
We need back to back drops I cant wait a week😪😂
It's a quality vs quantity issue. I couldn't sustain the quality of these videos everyday, it would have to be way less crafted. Important/great moments would definitely get lost in the process. So I could do it more often with way less "love" put into it, but I don't think the videos would be as enjoyable.
@@CinePals understood🩷
😂😂😂 i forgot how crazy the ending was. Yalls reaction was priceless 😂
Something you guys may want to keep in mind is that Janet's performance was pretty natural during the golf club and stair scenes was due to the loss of Michael around that time 😢
Michael Jackson had around the time of filming. Which is why Janets performance was so real!!
Yep!!🔥🔥
had passed*❣. You're totally right, that's why she had a lot of emotions in the film.
Definitely need to react to Madea Goes To Jail & Madea Witness Protection!!
Ms Tyson was a phenomenal actress, with countless film credits to her name. A career going back to the 1960s.
The 2nd one is definitely sadder, and Janet, along with Jill Scott, really had us in our feelings from the trauma the characters had
Michael jai White is a martial artist, so it makes sense that he is so fit
Janet Jackson is a great actor. I’d love to see her in more movies with different types of settings and characters
Tales from The Hood , underrated Hood classic
I totally understand. Other reactors have mentioned this as of lately. RUclips apparently has been a little more strict.
The elderly couple is Cicily Tyson (Roots) and Lou Gossett Jr (An Officer and A Gentleman) 2 of our biggest icons. RIP to them both ❤
Michael is always spot on. I love watching you guys.
Y’all don’t know the late great Cicely Tyson 😩 her work goes beyond Tyler Perry films…
I clicked over here so damn fast. 😀
Literally I cannot wait to get home roll up and watch lol
Yesssss❤️❤️❤️💕🤸🏾♀️🤸🏾♀️🤸🏾♀️
Same! Watching on my lunch break lol
😂😂Chile me 2
Am on my period I click
Hey! Just found you all and love the channel already. Just a note, this movie filmed when Michael died. If I’m remembering correctly, there were interviews where Tyler said he wrapped and changed the ending to allow Janet to grieve. The original script is much different! That’s why it feels like a different movie toward the end
Now is time to start the campaign for “why did I get married 3” to be created!
Terry is one of my favorite TP characters. So calculating without being crass yet the leader of the friend group. Tremendous
I’m casting my vote for Tyler Perry’s version of “For Colored Girls”, Janet is in that too!!
The ending had us shrieking in the theater. I saw it in college and when The Rock showed up, everyone was just beside themselves.
Janet was only supposed to break 1 table but that day she found out her brother Michael had died and she was super emotional
