Had Germany not entered the WW1 they would have sooner or later peacefully transitioned into a republic/constitutional monarchy.

Technically the German Empire surely lived until 1945. There has been debate among law scholars if the German Empire persists until today. It was technically never abolished, it only changed names. The "Weimar Republic" was not a new state, it still continued to be called German Empire (Deutsches Reich) and got a new constitution.
I do believe that the Russian Empire is older than that. I used to think it was Western historiographical bias, but I then learned that that date in the 18th century is when the emperor Peter the Great proclaimed that he was not the "tsar" of Russia but the "imperator."
So the Russian "Imperium" was born then but it already had a tsar (emperor) since Ivan the Terrible if I remember correctly.
