The invasion of Southern Italy + the partisans forced the main army to fall back to Salò, while another revolutionary army started fighting against the axis. You know what, we all hate on Germany for both the World Wars but they were very effective in war. The fact that they had to constantly aid Austria-Hungary in multiple battles while still dealing with their own and at some points doing very good is impressive! And when they had to help out Italy while convincing other countries to join them while fighting the UK is also impressive! One thing people often forget is how close the germans actually were to winning ww1, towards the end there was a breaking point about to burst in France, it was only because the Germans didn’t stop unrestricted naval warfare that the us got involved
French army was gonna mutiny but the american troops there gave them enough morale to stave off that. If the US wouldn’t of joined in frances military would be the reason for a german breakthrough more than anything else.

One thing people often forget is how close the germans actually were to winning ww1, towards the end there was a breaking point about to burst in France, it was only because the Germans didn’t stop unrestricted naval warfare that the us got involved
not sure about that, the allies produced the best tanks, more particularly the French (FT-17) which crushed the German lines on some fronts.
French army was gonna mutiny but the american troops there gave them enough morale to stave off that. If the US wouldn’t of joined in frances military would be the reason for a german breakthrough more than anything else.
