The way it was done was wrong however after hearing the details and seeing the energy behind Kamala, I understand that it needed to be done. Im so disappointed on the questioning in this interview; no pushback on how they acted towards Biden and forced him to “pass the torch”. Interviews need to be more balanced.
That's because the questions are pre-approved by the politician's PR people. Their literal attitude is "don't ask us difficult questions or we don't come on". I work in broadcasting, trust me I know.

In regards to your second point, there are politicians who're open to scrutiny, and there are politicians who prefer to control the messaging and often have to negotiate with producers in order for them to come on. I personally hate it, I would prefer to have a politician to come on unconditionally and be open to the questions WE want to ask, but like I said, the government PR machine is a powerful engine that even the media cannot overcome.

The transition has been smooth so far except for the reaction of some people. I don't inow if it was part of Biden's and the Democrats' strategy to hold the debate early and for Biden to step aside after the Republican convention if his prospects for re-election were poor, or if it was just luck that Democrat politicians, donors and voters were all ready to make a quick and smooth transition. Whether by strategy, chance, or Providence, it all happened at the right time in the right way. No sense to freak people out when government is working just fine, and good to give people a heads up and lessen confusion and pique interest.
