Moral of the story, a Ryobi 1800PSI/1.2GPM with a cheapo Scamazon Basics foam cannon and 1.1mm orifice is lightyears ahead.

Thank you so much for doing this! I’m almost certain this is the only video on RUclips that’s had this far a comparison. Appreciate the work!

Thanks for the look, as always. I'm inclined to agree, just get an actual foam gun, but wonder if these still actually have a place for HVAC cleaning. Or why you couldn't just use a foam canon for double duty - like if that's just... too much air, not enough water to penetrate between fins.

I think the only thing these are good for is HVAC coil service on your condenser. You want gentle low pressure and basically the kind of foam/water output these things are delivering. That's what I use mine for anyway.

Yeah thats a good point, I can see it working well for condenser cleaning.

good comparison, thanks for this vid! Perhaps maybe a comparison how each foam gun does against dirt?

Thanks, Yeah I have been trying to come up with a fair way to test soaps against each other.

I agree the performance isn't the best, but several of them foamed ok (but the problem is lack of pressure). If washing a car with these, I would recommend the following steps. On a cool day, spray foam directly on the dirty dry car (do not pre spray the car, as that creates a water barrier to the dirt). Spray foam directly on the dry dirt will help re-rydrate the dry dirt and foam will lift it off. Let the foam stream off 5-10mins, and then spray off the left over foam. Re-foam and wash car with two bucket method with dirt traps. FYI... I have the older Adam's premium foam blaster... and it was made in USA (but costed almost 2x as much; It looks like a re-brand of Lafferty Model 25 Compact Airless Foamer SKU: LAFFERTY-969925-B32).

Yep, they can get the job done.

@@Tools-Tested It is unfortunate that a made in USA products are 2x the price. Even though I got a good discount on the foamer, it was still almost $100 after tax (while it was mostly plastic, it did have quality quick release and spray gun... but not a $100 worth; I wouldn't buy it again since cheapie made in China models are now ~$10-$15).

Great video! A quick connect on the hose connection side of the gun seems like a poor choice. I’m sure these are mostly bought by home gamers who aren’t looking to spend a ton of money and likely don’t have quick connections on their garden hose. Doubly bad if it’s plastic! But that’s just me!
Dude when you can please please please review the cordless pressure washers! I have the original Ryobi 18v 320psi (I think) non HP model. As I’m sure you know, they make an HP model of both the 18v and 40v cordless washers but they have the exact same specs! Try as I might I’ve been unable to find a head to head comparison of the HP 18v and 40v model. If you’ve got double the voltage and equivalent amp hours you’ve got double the working watts. So are they really the same performance wise, but the 40v runs twice as long? I feel like the 40v should do better than the 18v. Also I’d love to see the DeWalt and some of the other lesser known and or Amazon models! Please please please do this comparison when you have time! As always love the work you do!
PS. That has got to be the cleanest metal wall in the entire country!

None of these are working as well as they should, they should all be blasting an adjustable width cone of foam, not this erectile disfunction demonstration. Recommend removing the testing equipment and making adjustments while spraying to fully optimize. Also look for cannons that have smaller orifice diameter replacements (or compatible 3rd party options) if using a lower GPM/PSI electric pressure washer. Happy foam hunting.
