I even screwed up when I left water in it and the fitting on the reel expanded after I tried to use it. They sent me a replacement free of charge. Absolutely love my Eley products. My only, and I mean ONLY complaint about the hose reel is that there's no guide. Your hand gets dirty every time guiding the hose back on evenly. I suppose you could use a rag to hold the hose, but I wish someone would create a little gadget to slip over the hose to guide it on. Yes, they're expensive, but buy nice, not twice.

I also wanted to try out their couplers, which I liked but I ended up going with the OG ones instead so one got installed on my mobile washer and ditched the cheap plastic hose with a braided hose. That's some next-level spray nozzle! The last one I bought at Ace Hardware probably a decade ago was $18 and I got it because it was metal. Much better than the plastic ones, but not like the Eley. I wouldn't leave it on the hose in the yard, I'd quick disconnect it and store in the garage. Now, about the hose reel; where was it back when I used plastic hose reels, which are junk. Even the metal ones were too. I wouldn't spend THAT on one of those, I'd call my son and tell him I've got some pressure washing for you to do (and, I'll cook dinner! 😁)

The part was available for order. The reel was kept in the sun so maybe that had something to do with it. I just got the cleaning nozzle but passed on the watering nozzle. If you have to change the disc often it looks to be a bit too much trouble since you can't do it by hand.

    I've had the Eley quick connects and sprayers for some time now and it has been a game changer for me. I would say that the fan nozzle tip is pretty close in comparison to a low powered pressure washer but, I really just wish there were better options for getting thick foam close to a pressure washer. Foam guns just don't really cut it and seem to run off the car way too quick. Eley nozzle and premium foam gun suds would be my go to because i wouldn't have to deal with getting out the pressure washer, plugging it into a power source , priming the hose and unit, and putting it all away when done. There are just simply more premium options in the pressure washing industry. Until a premium garden hose foam gun that can create thick shaving cream foam comes out i will continue using my pressure washer.

    I own two Eley hose reels. The quality is better than most. For air reels I have Reelcraft (cheaper models made overseas), Cox Reels, and Hubbel. These reels are USA made and built like a tank. As far as water hose reels I went with Eley which seemed built pretty good but my understanding is all their products are made in China, other than their hoses. They were once made in Nebraska but no longer. I didn’t drain my reel soon enough this year and it got cold today. Swivel failed so yeah quality is ok but I wouldn’t say their stuff is amazing either.

    Your video didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. But I will just confirm everything you said about their quality.
    I have purchased probably a dozen of their quick connect sets. I have them on everything including hose end sprayers, Kranzle pressure washer, crspotless simple chuck unit, etc.......
    I haven't watched your entire video yet (commenting as your video is running) but the inside diameter is HUGE. WAY bigger than the crappy quick connects you buy at box stores. So you are getting about the best flow possible. I dont understand why some people put those small diameter quick connects inline with their pressure washers.
    They splitters are amazing too as well as their swivels with the ball valve shut off.
    Also their hose reels are amazing as well. I just bought my second one. I have one that is on wheels. I bought the 4 wheel version. Then bought another to mount on a 4x4 post on the other side of my house.
    Lastly, their hose is very good quality as well. It is drinking water safe. All quality brass components. Plus they sell a repair kit that you can replicate their professional connections and installing the super high quality ends on their hose if you get a cut etc. I bought the tool that puts the ends on and a couple male and couple female ends just to have as spares.
    EDIT--- I see you showed the inside diameter of the quick connects but you didn't really comment on them. The difference in opening size between the Eley and even the second best on the market imho made by Dramm is ridiculous. The Eley quick connects are HUGE compared to anything else on the market.
    Also, at the end of the video you mentioned the Griots Garage nozzle. I still have a Griots Garage sprayer I bought probably15 years ago and LOVE IT. Their shut off valves suck as they seize up after very little time. But I put the nozzle itself on a Eley quick connect and it is an amazing combination.
    And one final note. MAKE SURE you are using 100% silicone grease on the orings. I ran out of the little small tube of grease I got from Eley and I used some other silicone lubricant I use on car parts. I think it's called SuperLube. It says 100% silicone but it obviously has some additives in it and caused the orings to expand and actually get loose on the quick connects. So I bought a few of the oring kits that include Ellis grease to make sure I have spare orings and grease for a while.

    Love your videos but would you please mention if the products you are talking about are more for electric or gas pressure washers? Example... is the UBERFLEX 3700 psi as good as the 3100 psi version? 😉

    some things are "buy it for life" and that just may be one. worst case you eventually have to replace an o ring.
    i would love to see a GPM battle of this vs some other products such as Gilmour Pro Fireman Nozzle, Bon-Aire Original Ultimate Aluminum Hose Nozzle.
    i have the bon-aire and its been bulletproof. though i dont use it professionally or anything

    I have their hose reel, and it's excellent. I live in a townhouse, we have "public" hose reels at the end of each building. They're plastic and leak and falling off the wall. I'm tempted to buy another one so I don't have to use that plastic thing ever again.

    What is the gpm with the fan spray? Also if you hook up a quick connect could you hook it up to pressure washer?

    • @timkinley1779
      @timkinley1779 10 месяцев назад

      Huh? Neither of your questions make sense. The gpm is decided by the input flow from the hose bib (city water or well pump). And this isn't a pressure washer fitting.

      @@timkinley1779 no the hose is still restricted so asking what gpm he was getting. I understand that pressure can vary from place to place but it’s close enough to ask what the flow rate is. Also was wondering if a quick connect is installed coil you use the handle with a pressure washer.

      @@robn.5932 Max pressure on the body is 120 psi. Valve is 90 psi. That isn't pressure washer range. This is a garden hose and attachments. I can explain how and where the water comes from before it gets to your hose bib, if that'll help you understand. Take it on faith that the hose and nozzle will flow the same gpm out as the pipe and fittings from whence the residential water came.

      @robn.5932 10 месяцев назад

      @@timkinley1779 not true, I am a mechanical engineer with over 30 years of fluid mechanics experience. I can assure you when you run water through that system you will loose flow. Please just test it with your hose for a minute then add the handles with the fan sprayer on the widest spray and tell me the change. That’s what I’m asking.

    • @timkinley1779
      @timkinley1779 10 месяцев назад

      @@robn.5932 The valves and fittings and pressure reducers prior to the hose bib end, determine the volume. The size of the valve in your bib is probably the same as the ball valve in this trigger. The smallest restriction is the factor for back-pressure loss, if any. Wide open valve at the bib is the same interior volume as the wide open valve on the trigger. If you're referring to fan attachments and different levels of open, then we're talking about different things. Every single degree of open would change the flow. If we're throwing out a resume... I spent a lifetime in specialty chemical and pharmaceutical processing. I also can open and close a residential bib.

    So, I like it but one thing you didn’t address completely are the connectors to the hose. The ones you showed looked great but what I’m curious about is can you disconnect that nozzle from the hose and then connect the hose to your pressure washer. Not sure what water source you use with your pressure washer - unless it’s that inside tank in your garage - but it would be very aggravating to have to change the connectors every time if they aren’t the same size.
