Sir after watching your video, i sucessfully put a new clutch in my 128 cub. Made a press similar to yours to compress the big spring. Worked like a champ! Thank you. I grew up on these old machines and they are just so tough. Cant beat old iron!
Awesome and very infomative video, got an old cub, disc is beyod shot! Just what i needed to see!! Now... how to do the relieve clutch spring pressure without a welder or jig to take pressure off haha
Great video. 😎 I picked up a 1200 and am just getting around to working on it, so it looks like I better fab up a spring compression tool for the eventual clutch rebuild.. Gonna need it sooner than later I'd imagine. 👍
The teaser.spring pre loads the clutch to make smother engagement . I find it easier to pull engine on 7hp and 124, and use the throw out to take pressure off the roll pins, then take the two adjustment nuts off to release spring tension then you can change the throw out bring. Then just reverse to reassemble
I'm lazy and don't like pulling the engine and this tractor was ran with the motor loose at some point because the engine mount holes are wallowed out so it's harder to get the motor in aliment.
I just acquired a cub cadet 1200 that has a rusted and froze up clutch and springs, do you have any tips to get the springs freed up to replace everything with new?
To bad the cameradidn't catch all the action on the important end. But thanks I have 1978 1200 with the granny gear clutch was the very first thing I repaired.
@@PullerbearEd it's all good. Your drive shaft press or what ever you wanta call it was cool. Like the way you slotted the pipe to clear pass the rolled pins. The one I made I start the other end. Just though it needs cleaned up for the clutch plate to move freely . Didn't mean to be so blunt Thank You
Hello my tractor I just bought to plow some snow is throwing sparks at the little spring and starting to wear what looks to be a new clutch pretty quick any idea what may be the cause… it does not allow me to depress the clutch Pedal enough to even set parking brake if that helps
Sounds like it's either the throw out bearing going bad or possibly the throw out arm pivot is worn. I would check both. All the parts are available from @Midwest Super cub.
@@PullerbearEd that's very good and I thank you very much and getting back I very much appreciate before I forget Moon international harvester Cub cadet 1250 would it make a good pulling tractor

Thank you. I really happy it helped. You can't beat these old iron machines
Thank you for conveying the point about stored energy.
Your welcome
Lent out my spring compressor just can't remember who to. And I was having such a good day.
Lol..thanks for watching.
Need a creeper on that thing!! I love IHCC Quiet Lines! I have a 1650 dual stick hydro
Ya id like a creeper but id rather have it on my 108 that I plow snow with, it's my workhorse.

I've seen people use a hitch on the back of a vehicle and a floor jack...I've never done it so if you do please be careful.
@@PullerbearEd now that sounds like a don’t try this at home idea! 😂
Like watching your videos!!👍🏻
Thank you. Hopefully there will be some pulling content soon..I really need some dirt therapy..

Yea it's the safest way to do it.

I have great days every time my awsome viewers leave me great comments. Thank you.
im a fan it helped me thanks watch again
Thank you. I will be reinstalling the clutch at some point but I may also pull the engine and rebuild it this winter.
I like your design on the press. Would you be willing to share the dimensions? Nice presentation.
Good video. You showed me I have the teaser sring and spacer assembled backwards. I still can't get it to draw back.
Sometimes the throw out bearing will get hung up on the drive shaft.
Thanks. Cool video
Your welcome, thank you for watching

@@PullerbearEd its all good ed

Cool video
Thank you. Part 2 will be coming out at some point
Nice spring bracket
Thank you. I've made a few different ones over the years but I like this one the best.
I just acquired a cub cadet 1200 that has a rusted and froze up clutch and springs, do you have any tips to get the springs freed up to replace everything with new?
You have to use a clutch spring compression tool. Do not try to just drive the pins out it is under lots of pressure.
To bad the cameradidn't catch all the action on the important end.
But thanks

Sorry, I was just not very good at videoing back then. I'm still not the best but I'm trying.

Your welcome, thank you for watching.
Hopefully the part is easy to get.
Oh yes all the parts are available after market.
Would you like to trade yours for mine 1250 international harvester Cub cadet
Not at this time, I'm fairly attracted to mine.

No they are hydro drive. You need one that has a gear drive transmission.
@@PullerbearEd well thanks for letting me know that they are not good pulling and I appreciate you telling me that
