Yes, they were an option on all gear drive Cub Cadets, you can find them all over the place used for $200-300, keep in mind there are some differences through the years so make sure you get one that will work right for your tractor.
You would be better off to brake clean the threads to remove the crud.Then use a thread restorer,it massages the thread.A tap removes to much thread,making the thread weaker.Their is a difference
