I continue to tune in to see Wes' intros. I loved today's intro and was literally laughing out loud. All I can say is that if this was a mediocre episode, if I was Louis Gossett Jr and somehow watch it from heaven, I would be proud and honored at what was said today. Great Episode. Shout to Joseph! Carry on.
Enemy Mine is a such a great movie cause in the beginning it is about an enemy that becomes your friend through love and compassion but at the end it literally becomes a movie about fighting your way through a mine filled with enemies!!
US F-16 pilots call it the "Viper" - named after the Vipers from Battlestar Galactica. Although the official name is the Falcon, the pilots don't call it that.
20:55 Holy shit, this is one of my favorite movies of all time and I literally never realized that the movie was trying to say 'enemy mine' was about a mine operated by the enemy, that is the dumbest shit I have ever heard in my life and I haven't even read the novella.
This is complete supposition on my part. Maybe Eddie Murphy used the Axel Foley name so that fans of strong black chars. would know something about his char. in Beverly Hills Cop, and give a nod to one of the GREATEST entertainers ever. Lewis Gossett Jr. could do it all!
Louis Gosset Jr. like so many other talented Black actors probably wasn't offered the same roles as Jack Nicolson, Robert De Niro, or Al Picino because of good ol' racisim. Outside of Denzel and Sidney, Hollywood wasn't putting Black actors in leading roles, they weren't financing Black movies, so you see great talents like LGJ fade away from the spotlight.
Lewis gossett Jr fell off the map because of an addiction to narcotics. This addiction even led to him being high on camera and the director letting the scenes play. We all know this, so why are you dodging the issue?
That opening... sometimes I forget that Wes isn't just a podcast host.. he's an ACTOR!

"Enemy Mine" is the best!
Lou Gossett Jr. was incredible as the vortigaunt voice from Half Life 2.
Officer and Gentleman, Enemy Mine and Toy Soldiers are my favorites! I will miss him. Thank you for the video!
Emil Foley, not Axel Foley!
Enemy Mine is more or less about racism. Could be why LGJ really sunk his teeth into it.

Ty is also confusing the fictional Hades bomb with a Hellfire.
I just saw Fall guy, always like the insider take on movies like that. Any chance Ty and Wes could cover it?
Just watched the ep with the Other guy. Yes, Wes has WAY more energy. Had to turn down the volume. He scared the cats.
5:50 Wes, you're a jockey and we love you regardless..
Enemy mine!

I remember him as Gerak leader of the free Jaffa nation
and prior of the ORI
who did the right thing and turned against the ORI
so he could die free
It wasn't a Hellfire that he used in Iron Eagle it was a "Hades Bomb" which doesn't exist
Wait, what's wrong with diggstown, other than essentially being a type of hiest movie?

Loved him in his role in Stargate SG-1. We're losing too much talent the last calendar year.
Wait is this a repost?
