It’s so trippy that the drone is filming itself in 3rd person
Ikr? It feels like the camera is hovering over the drone.

@@potterfanz6780 The 360 camera knows how to basically live-edit out the pole its on. They did some other videos with it where they explained it better, it's really cool.
It seemed like the guys didn't like the drone in the shot, but it's actually my favourite part - just do like an entire video with the drone in the frame continuously. It'd look a bit like the "3rd person" option on a lot of drone simulators.

Four weeks is too long. In the future if you want that kind of option you have to buy form a reseller who has a longer change of mind policy, like OfficeWorks. It is the last big retailer with an open ended policy.

It seems to really shine for establishing shots that a chase might be happening in. The shot under the bridge where a road might be just screamed: there's a motorcycle chase here and this is where it's happening, these are the stakes. The mountain shots are beautiful too. I love how you can just snip the 360 shots into precise camera movements in post.
Do a sequel to that Superman video y’all did years ago! But this time add proper aerobatics and awesome maneuvers and stuff! Could be cool.

Why not put the camera under the drone?
The drone will only block parts of the sky.
I'm guessing that would be an issue with landing. And the mount being attached to the battery and not the drone itself?

WREN! 9:39 you should really not leave your goggles facing up like that. The display can get fried if a point source of light(sun) gets into the goggles. Fly safe!

@@-zelda-That isn't true at all lmao. They often do come down in the comments, either on this channel or wren comes down on their personal channel later to answer questions directed towards him only and not the entire corridor crew. That is one of the many reasons they are so great.

These are the kind of videos I subbed for. I love these experiments. What if you attach the camera beneath the drone? You'll need someone to hold the drone to fly off and land but the drone won't show up.
It will on the fisheye when they do the planet effect, on the edges of the shot instead of the opposite

WREN YOU ARE MY FAVORITE as soon as I saw that camera I started thinking about how the weight distribution would affect performance and then you were like ye I'm worried about how the weight distribution will affect performance so thank you for bringing science and filmmaking (my two favorite things) together. Also screw punctuation
The guys over at Flight Test made a really thin flying wing and put one of these cameras one it. Because it was so thin it was invisible to the camera resulting in a Flying 360 camera with no obstructions in the video!
Yeah I was just thinking, when this camera first came out their was a projectile thing you could put it in and throw it to get smooth flybys. So I thought if you could mount the camera in the center of a drone it might be possible to hide it entirely too.
That loop through the dig machine is insane! Keeping the view on the object in the middle at all times is just cool.

It is nice because you get the tricks of a racing drone, but all the stability of a cinematography drone. Nicely Done!

I've always wanted an FPV quad with a 360 degree camera, and head tracking that allows you to look around within the 360 degree image. You could improve performance by utilizing foveated rendering, pixelating areas outside the main field of view. I guess you could call it VR FPV. It's the future..someday..when technology catches up.

I nodded to myself that spinning around characters was sweet (albeit afaik easily and better done with other techniques), but the way you could startle and follow birds in the end-video made me actually say to myself "that was cool".
A bit surprised you didnt rig a counter-weight to make it better balanced. Sure, a higher throttle would be needed to remain flying, but it seemed quite capable of that. And it would be harder to land (guaranteed to tip over, and another part to break). But it would likely still be worthwhile for the stability, particularly with how windy it was.
Aside from cinematography, I seem ore use in this setup as a useful tool. If you have a nice 360 light and send it into cramped areas to inspect (with a rope to retrieve if you get stuck), then you could easily see the entire thing well. Was noticeable in the end-video when you went into that nook in the dam.

How are you liking that DJI HD rig? With the 360 camera, you're basically shooting your own chase footage. I can't wait to see how you use this in videos to come. It looks so phenomenal.

@@vitorshaw they actually have a couple of channels. Corridor digital is where they post finished videos/skits/scenes. They have corridor cast which is where they post podcasts. And the guillotine channel where all they do is smash stuff with a home made guillotine

I believe if you find a way to mount the 360 camera under the drone, it would prevent the drone from VideoBombing since your view is mostly down.. Great video guys

when the camera angle is at the 360, the one where it combines both lens(?), not the equirectangular image, but the one that makes the image looks like a globe. Anyways, i LOVE that view... I literally screamed and jumped off my chair cuz it really gives the perspective that the earth is round and when we are viewing it at a distant. wow... just wow...

This is really awesome! Would be cool to see a collaboration between camera manufacturer and a racing drone manufacturer to build a drone more fit for this. Designing the drone with a built in 360 camera setup, or a drone with separate camera designed to easily work with the drone, but in either case just having it designed around the idea of using a drone to properly balance and use cameras to avoid seeing the drone while getting as much good shots.

It’s been my obsession this year!! I’ve been a fan of FPV for several years now though. We made that Drone Star Wars video with Rotor Riot back in 2016.
I had gotten into it a little bit back in 2017 (check out flite fest on the crew channel!) but they were hard to fix and broke easily. They’re way more durable these days!!

If you can put an ND Filter over the lenses it will blur the props and you'll get better footage. I use one on my GoPros to blur the prop on my Aerobatic Plane.

Thanks for making this video! I too think there's a lot of potential in 360 cams combined with FPV in the future! I've dabbled with it a little bit but I'm planning on making a more serious piece as soon as I get the right idea. I personally like to mount the camera underneath the drone and use an extension like you guys did.

Im not sure if you guys would be interested but Disc Golf discs can fly much further with more airtime for filming and a very impressive anime style build up and release for a throw. It's kind of been a fantasy of mine to do an anime style OP disc golf throw
Seeing the clips on Wrens insta I already knew it was gonna be a great video.
The first thing that comes to mind for fixing the footage is map it to a sphere with some light-emitting shader (blender user here :P) in C4D (or any 3D software, really,) and rotate it so that it's level. Place a camera right in the center, and then either render out a pano video, or reframe it from there! That will give you more control over the angles, too, since you can always go back and change the camera's rotation keyframes rather than having to re-do the reframing in the Insta360 app.
