Great vid John. Just be aware that the way vans get broken in to abroad is by getting a peg up from your accomplice and pulling the roof lights open and jumping in. So you may want to get the metal plank they sell for putting over the rungs.
I had the same concern about drilling and we installed the bike rack without drilling. I used loctite and made sure the screws were really tight. I accept there is a risk associated, but it’s rock solid and I can hang off it with the bikes on. We have since done 2000km with two bikes attached around Europe.
I found that the weight of a bike pulled the door away from its seals. I made a simple strut with a turn buckle going between the bike rack and the tow bar frame. Now the weight of the bike is put directly onto the tow bar.
Well done, John, I know its uncomfortable drilling holes in your van, this is why I went for a bolt-less rear door ladder, and bolt-less rear door tyre rack. Tyre rack from Owl Vans, and Rear ladder from Alumines
As you know if you have the alumines ladder it means buying their roof rack, so it’s no good for me and my van AND that ladder you have is almost 3 times as expensive as the fiamma I have 🤯
Great video John. I'm fitting a rear ladder to my Adria 600 Twin. Any tips on removing the upper door panel? I guess a need a special tool to work the clips out.
Hi Jon an idea could have been Nut Sert threaded insert with Loctite (would be as secure but would save taking the door apart . Great accessory cracking simple Video
Brilliant mate, I'm like you I've been thinking about a ladder on my motorhome but have been "scared" about it so kinda out it on the back burner but really that wasn't half as bad as I thought it was gonna be, nice one 👍🏻👍🏻👊🏻👊🏻😃😃
Is there no end to your talent?, Van looks fantastic with the ladder & bike rack, thinking if having the roof rack and ladder added as a fitted option, save having to drill any holes myself. 🚙🤙
hello , bonsoir . Très belle vidéo et de très bonnes explication . Je me suis abonne . Jai juste une petite question . Comment se retire le panneau interieur ( celui ou il y a la fenetre ) ? . Celui de la porte gauche du haut . Avez vous une vedeo ? Merci d avance . Laurent
I am removing my bike rack as we have a tow bar mounted bike rack for E-bikes. How easy was it to remove the upper rear door cards? Which appear to be held on by glue. Or any tips for removal. Thanks for the helpful videos: Ray
another good video, so now what does the beast weigh with you two and cooper in it ? I was surprised when I visited the weigh bridge with a full tank of water and half a tank of fuel last week.
The Fiamma stuff weighs almost nothing, but once I've finished with adding all the extras I might spend £15 at the weighbridge and see what the van now weighs.
Gadget John on tour our local weighbridge is free to roll on, read the LED and go, if you want a ticket it’s £12. I guess we’re tight folk in Yorkshire 👌🏻

Ha 🤣 I think they offer different colours, I wanted to keep everything matching to the van & awning 🚐👍🏼 Black would like good on your van, but you’d have to cover your artwork 😳🤦🏼♂️
I looked up the price and like most things Fiamma, the prices are a joke. The downside of a fixed ladder is that it only allows you to reach part of the roof or you must actually get on the roof. I'll be getting one of those collapsible ladders which are now under £80 quid and allow you to reach any part of the roof, not to forget all the other household jobs you can use it for.
@@johnmandy That might be the case in a commercially constructed campervan. These ladders stack fairly low & will fit in my garage under the fixed rear bed. It's horses for courses. If you have the money, it's your choice. The other day I saw a lovely aluminium ladder on a work van. Very simple & neat. I'd say max £100. But it still doesn't get around the fact you need to be related to spider man & I am not. Changing the subject slightly, commercially designed campervans are pretty poor unless you plan to use a campsite every other day. I converted my own van so it kinda defeats the purpose if you then adorn it with over priced fittings. Brands like Fiamma are rip off, I saw you coming. I have similar views on van roof racks and front end light bars. I can see pretty much anything I want to with my high beam lights, not that I could see a time when I'd need to use HB. 👍 Sorry for the rant. You make good videos.🍷
Thanks for the video. I feel an equal amount of trepidation about drilling into my beloved van so appreciate the walk through.

I spotted the bike rack and ladders in last video - had a rewind thinking I’d missed the installation 👍
Evening Gadgets 😊 Another sucessful job done on the van.

Nice work as always 👌

I did the same video on the fiamma bike rack 200 DJ ducato 4 months ago like you couldn't find any search on the rear leaf springs I did to lol
I wonder why your videos don’t come up in searches? Silly RUclips!!!
I was exactly the same fitting my stitches and steel multi awning rail. I did NOT want to drill through my van 😮😮😮 ok in the end though. Good job 😎👍🏻

All Fiamma kit. Did they supply the ladder, rack etc?
If you check the link in the video description it takes you to our blog site where you can find product links and more details.
Good tutorial as ever.
The first step looks a bit large though John! 😅

The panel was shown being removed in this video 👍🏻
Great job and Looks the part. I could hear a slight tremor in your voice but no sweat dripping from your brow. 👍👋
Fiammatastic 👌👍"whah whah whah" sorry bud 🤦♂️. Looks a nice little kit, options in black? 👍👍👍.

@@johnmandy Ahhhh good point mate! Can't be covering up the " Mevi Murrual 🤔", I'll go for the side ladder 😉👌👍👍👍

We have nowhere to store a ladder inside, so it’s not an option.

err..never seen a ladder fitted to the passinger door before?
It’s the only way it can go as it goes around the number plate.
@@johnmandy maybe it was made for left hand drive vans?
Let's see you climb to the top😂😂😂😂
