I prefer the N1 (or NA). I like the pop-up headlamps for one thing, and its simple, Lotus Elan-like body design for another. I also like the fact that they are appreciating in value, so if I ever decide to sell, I'll do well (I don't plan to ever sell, if I can help it). I must admit, I had a 1994 from 1998-2011, so I know what I like, and plan to get another as soon as I sell my 1972 Saab project car (I'm getting too old to work on it). I LIKE low power! My '94 was practically trouble-free, 40K-165K miles!

3:22 Not strictly speaking due to hard driving. I own that very generation of the MX-5 and I do drive very fast and I have not had that happen to me. Maybe VHB's one had a damaged roof or the roof was not secured correctly.

Mk1 mx5 looks like a lot more fun and has a more dynamic drive but ultimately the mk3 is quicker that being said I'd rather have a slower car that is more fun to drive then a quick car that isn't as fun. Something I alway get into a discussion about as I own a s2000 is how others say their car is faster but I say I'm having more fun
It's strange how every reviewer always mentions the fact that a Miata doesn't have much power, even though that is the one thing about it that doesn't matter!

I own the exact same NC MX5 in the exact same color it's my first car.
Funny watching this video and remembering my sister had a 96 MK1 MX5 1.8 in red. Wish I had bought it off her.

There was also the s2000. They said there was nothing comparable to the NC Miata, but that's purely untrue.

NA is the best
FIRST
So the NC was a second faster than a first gen 1.6 and span out more... NC is the red headed stepchild of the MX5 family. 2018+ ND with the new engine is best overall, if you don't count the rare as hens teeth Mazdaspeed turbo miata.
