@kenni411 most cars with drive by wire (throttle is electronic, not a cable like it used to be) have laggy/odd feeling acceleration. Buy a pedal commander, it's a simple plug and play thing and give you a ton of adjustment to make it a little or alot more responsive. Doesn't harm anything, it simply increases the voltage it sends to the little motor opening the throttlebody which increases the speed it opens at.

The Japanese Kaizen philosophy is no joke around the Toyota office. Continuous improvements by small changes results in amazing results over time.

Bought mine new in 2019 for a lot less than what new ones are being sold for now. TRD Off Road Premium. Amazing how much prices have gone up in 5 years.
Currently have 76K miles. So far only had regular oil changes/ tire rotations, new set of tires, and just had rear brakes done at 75K. The thing still feels like a tank. Hoping to keep it for at least another 5 years.
The only downside is gas mileage. But to buy a new car for $50K+ to get an extra 10mpg at most just doesn't seem worth it to me.

Help Scottie! I have a 2022 Tundra that I purchased new. My current mileage is 18,500 and although my truck is part of the engine replacement recall that is not what I am complaining about, what I am complaining about is my front passenger window got stuck halfway open/closed and it's been sitting at the dealership for 2 weeks with no parts available to fix it (the cable snapped and motor burned out). They did put me in a rental (tacoma) but they have no idea when the parts will be available to fix my window! This is my 4th Tundra and never had an issue like this with any of my others. I've already called Toyota and they have no idea when parts will be available either. They also said they have no parts to fix the fuel line recall.

The new 4runners are actually longer than the existing ones. They are definitely not smaller. As a 4Runner owner running Bilstein 5100s makes a HUGE difference in the ride. Far less body roll while turning and far less nose dive when braking. If you don't offroad much they are a good one to have. I took my 4Runner out on the beach and the bilsteins didn't handle the sand ruts as well as I wanted. So I'll probably upgrade the shocks eventually. But they are much better than stock (unless you have the TRD Pro).
While I understand the concern about the 4 cyl. engines, I will say that the 4Runner does not have very good low end-torque. This is one area where the 4 cyl blows the 6 out of the water. The 4 has a much better power curve than the 6. Also, having more gears in the transmission is going to help on the highway. Right now, anything over 55 (especially over 70) and the gas mileage tanks because it doesn't have a 6th gear.
