These guys are called "PITTHU" they carry people to the temple and it's arround 21 to 25 km climb. They don't get paid much they only take 2 to 3 thousand indian rs to take us up to the temple. And fun part is they do 3 to 4 rounds per day maybe more. And it's not a easy climb trust me.

You guys have to watch the footage of real Kedarnath flood, it looked like God was upset with Humans. And that's the way he showed his anger. It's scary !
It was mindless deforestation. There was a cloud burst which caused heavy rains n thunderstorms and because many trees were cut down, the floods n rains were uncontrollable and lives were sadly lost. It was only through the rescue operations coordinated by India with Nepal n Tibet that they were able to rescue many folks stuck due to floods and landslides.

Stories about Gods venting their anger is something people talk about because the tragedy of the destruction that happens in such calamities is so extreme n painful.. This was something that should not have happened but it did causing ruin n loss of lives and property. Boiling it down to a God's fury (I don't think Gods n Goddesses work that way but that's my personal opinion 🙏) is downplaying what happened in that place and minimizing the impact the incident created n it's aftermath.

Korbin, that is the most labour intensive work one can imagine. It is so tough to carry someone and walk uphill for 12-14 km. therr is no union to monitor how much someone should get paid. When we visited this shrine, the charge was 3500rs for a round trip. This song/chant is so messemerizing that u get into a trans and forget everything but to worship Shiva. I luv this and I am so great you loved it too
In case you are wondering about this carrying on the back thing... normally healthy people are supposed to trek... elderly and sick people who are desperate for a visit are generally carried by local helpers like this.

Your concern about how much these men get paid is completely legitimate. Unfortunately we have a very very long way to travel in terms of acknowledging the dignity of labour.
I would add that it's not just the problem of dignity of labour but also the paying capacity of people. Rich people from Shiny apartments don't do this pilgrimage. Farmers and workers from villages do it. So purchase capacity is low too.
The special part about Sushant's character in this movie is that he is a Muslim who does the pious work of assisting Hindu pilgrims to complete their pilgrimage by carrying them on his back. The distance is around 28 kms
This was one of the best movie of Sushant’s , he really shed lot of sweat and blood while doing this movie like he always , it shows the hardwork and dedication that he did every stunt by himself. This is really beautiful movie and yes the people who carries hardly get few bucks may be 1000-2000 rupees like $20-$30

The old walk was a 14km Trek and I have visited when it was during 2008.
During that time the potters charged 750-1200. Didn't took it and went all the way on foot.
New walk is increased by 3km. 17km walk now

You guys have to watch the footage of real Kedarnath flood, it looked like God was upset with Humans. And that's the way he showed his anger. It's scary !
It was mindless deforestation. There was a cloud burst which caused heavy rains n thunderstorms and because many trees were cut down, the floods n rains were uncontrollable and lives were sadly lost. It was only through the rescue operations coordinated by India with Nepal n Tibet that they were able to rescue many folks stuck due to floods and landslides.

Stories about Gods venting their anger is something people talk about because the tragedy of the destruction that happens in such calamities is so extreme n painful.. This was something that should not have happened but it did causing ruin n loss of lives and property. Boiling it down to a God's fury (I don't think Gods n Goddesses work that way but that's my personal opinion 🙏) is downplaying what happened in that place and minimizing the impact the incident created n it's aftermath.

Sushant used to practice carrying heavy weight on his back on a walker (treadmill)for hours with the song playing in the background (on repeat mode) That was his dedication for each and every movie.. It's been more than a moth that he has gone but it feels like only yesterday that we have lost him.. Feels like a personal loss for millions of people ❤ hope and wish wherever he is, he is in peace.

Korbin, that is the most labour intensive work one can imagine. It is so tough to carry someone and walk uphill for 12-14 km. therr is no union to monitor how much someone should get paid. When we visited this shrine, the charge was 3500rs for a round trip. This song/chant is so messemerizing that u get into a trans and forget everything but to worship Shiva. I luv this and I am so great you loved it too

In case you are wondering about this carrying on the back thing... normally healthy people are supposed to trek... elderly and sick people who are desperate for a visit are generally carried by local helpers like this.

I would add that it's not just the problem of dignity of labour but also the paying capacity of people.
Rich people from Shiny apartments don't do this pilgrimage. Farmers and workers from villages do it. So purchase capacity is low too.
The special part about Sushant's character in this movie is that he is a Muslim who does the pious work of assisting Hindu pilgrims to complete their pilgrimage by carrying them on his back. The distance is around 28 kms
This was one of the best movie of Sushant’s , he really shed lot of sweat and blood while doing this movie like he always , it shows the hardwork and dedication that he did every stunt by himself. This is really beautiful movie and yes the people who carries hardly get few bucks may be 1000-2000 rupees like $20-$30

The temple opens for 6 months in summer(T= 15°C to 0°C) and remain closed for 6 months due to heavy snowfall (T= 2°C to minus18°C) May-June is the peak season when around 6-8 lakhs devotees visits... There is a 17kms trek to the temple for which you have to pay around 6000- 12000 (80-160$) (depends) during peak season and around 1200-2000(16-25$) during off season... and the temple is surrounded by the majestic himalayan snowpeaks and beautiful rivers with the blessings of lord shiva all around..
