- We listen and react to a devotional Lord Shiva Song from the movie Kedarnath by Sushant Singh Rajput and Amit Trivedi called Namo Namo Shankara. Kedarnath is a Hindi language romantic drama. Penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, composed and sung by Amit Trivedi, the song is an ode to the God Shiva. The video features Sushant Singh Rajput's character, Mansoor, a friendly porter who ferries pilgrims on his back to the 2000-year-old Kedarnath shrine.
A Muslim pithoo saves a Hindu tourist from the Uttrakhand floods at the pilgrimage, and soon love eventually develops between them.
The movie featured late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan in the lead roles. The movie was helmed by Abhishek Kapoor. The movie was based in the Uttarakhand region and was set against the backdrop of 2013 Uttarakhand floods.

In 2013,when the devastating flood came..everything was vanished total destruction...but can you believe...
There was no harm to the temple,a big sized stone (named today as bhim shila) came from no where and protected the temple....
And there was a door in the temple that was locked for 100 of years,but miraculous that door opened on that time....
It proves...shiva is still there...

Most of the old temples are situated on mountains pilgrims have to walk or climb lot of steps to meet the God
That's not completely right. (Partially may be it is true) Most temple situated in mountains are actually Shiva Temple as shiva live in mountains. Otherwise you will find a lot temples in plain.

I have this very important memory and experience of this particular song. It was released close to midnight and I was young and travelling for the first time alone for a long distance.
Unfortunately, my brother forgot the date I was arriving and went to another city. The bus dropped in the middle of the road at 4 am at night from where I had to travel on foot for a few kms to reach civilization. And it was also the middle of winter.
I wouldn't lie and say that I wasn't scared because I was close to shutting my pants but suddenly this song showed up in my RUclips playlist as it was released a couple of hours ago and listening to this one song on repeat gave me so much courage and help.
I was crying throughout the time I was walking alone at night listening to the lord's name and feeling as if he is walking with me, keeping me company and protecting me.

In 2013 there was a huge flood happened in the kedarnath in which thousands of people died but nothing happened to this temple, when the huge flood hits the temple but after hitting the temple the water divided into two direction ♾️

*Seeing that terrible poison emerging, Śiva meditated on Śrī Viṣṇu, the garuḍa-bannered Lord, residing in his heart.*
And Lord Śiva himself confirms it, while in a conversation with goddess Pārvatī, in Garuḍa Purāṇa:
अप्रकाशमिदं गुह्याद् गुह्यतरं पदं |
पुराहं अब्धिमथने पतगेंद्र विषावाहं |
अवध्यं गरलं घोरमज्ञभुजं अमृतमयथा ||
O Devī, this is the secret of secrets. At the time of churning of the ocean, *I meditated on the Lord Viṣṇu before consuming poison. It was due to His mercy, that I was able to drink it* as if it were the nectar amṛta.
He further says in Padma Purāṇa:
Padma Purāṇa 6.232.15-16: *On seeing the strong poison, I (Śiva) meditated in my heart, upon the garuḍa-bannered God Viṣṇu.* Having meditated with a concentrated mind upon the Lord, remover of all miseries, and on my having muttered the great hymn of the name and form of Viṣṇu, all that *poison was digested by me due to the three names of Viṣṇu, the omnipresent one.*

In Himachal and Uttarakhand it is called Devbhoomi because even today all the gods and goddesses are present here, their grand temples, idols and palanquins are built and all the gods and goddesses are worshiped according to the local tradition of that place. The deities also choose the people of that place themselves, who are also called Gur or Mali in the local language, deities enter the body of the chosen people and speak through the chosen people in the local language of that place. And they listen to the problems of the people and also tell their solutions. This is not a lie, it is the real truth.

That lady he was carrying on his shoulder is a Pilgrim who came with her Son & daughter-in-law And Sushant is "Pithu" who provides paid service for such elderly ppl to carry them & help reach at mountain tops where actual pilgrimage site or temple is located.
Also, that shop he took 'laddu' from..is his own mother's shop, the one who said "don't come spending all money on pilgrims" (as shown in movie).

This is Kedarnath, in the Himalayas. Name of the movie is also Kedarnath which is inspired from the true incidents. Flash floods killed 5000 piligrims around 2014. Everything in Kedarnath was decimated. People say it was lord Shiva"s rage which resulted in such destruction. Only Kedarnath temple was untouched by this clamity. Temple was saved by a huge one piece rock which came along flash floods but settled exactly behind temple diverting floods on either side of the temple saving hundreds of devoted trapped inside temple.

This movie is based on real event that happened in 2013. The event is real - the story is fictional. The great flood that took a lot of lives and destroyed properties. But, the flood couldn’t touch the temple … a huge bolder fell and landed right behind the temple- diverting the flood water to the sides. This is a miracle. No body know how and where this huge boulder fell from and it landed right behind the temple in such a way that the temple was not harmed !!
Another important pilgrim site for Shiva is in Nepal - the Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu.
The 2015 earthquake destroyed thousands of homes in and around Kathmandu; including homes in the Pashupatinath temple area but not a brick moved in the temple despite the fact that the temple itself is hundreds of years old !!

Its a dream of every hindu to be there once in a life but the terrain does not allow everyone. It remains open for 3-4 months for visitors and closed for 9 months due to excessive snowfall. Ive been to there and it was 22 km of trek, I took 10 hours for a round journey ( 44 kms total up and down). Altitude is almost 3600 m from sea.. this is extremely beautiful place to be.. feels like heaven
