Ratyoke's picks are amazing. Yeah I can see that the lock had no protection. But it's still a nice peice in the collection.

Oh man, they used the M1 No3. key with 4 pins? be nice if they used the ProSeries 6000 core with 5 pins and spools. I might still have to get one of these just to have on the shelf. Nice video, I love my Ratyoke pick, so well made!

I was in Walmart today looking at the Master locks they had all M1 keyways, and all 4 pins.
The casing them all looking the same the octagonal carbide shackle looked nice but for like $15.
I looked through the brinks brass ones 40-50mm all wide open keyways for comb bypassing,
I’ve seen the website for ratyoke $50-$56 for a pick that’s a quite a bit to pay for a single pick not including shipping.
It looks good to be honest but I can’t see myself buying a single pick for that price isn’t it the same 301 stainless steel that sparrows uses?
$30 for a Masterlock “100 years anniversary lock might be able to justify if I had lots of money to burn.
I honestly spent about 30 minutes looking at the locks picking each one up looking at the keyway and the keys right down to the easy to pick open hyper tough.
Good little video, interesting lock does anyone have an original Masterlock from 100 years ago?
I’d be interested in seeing what it looks like.

Oh no doubt that this lock was a "splurge" spend. I bought it "just to own it" or a piece of history. Also, I bought the ratyoke pick not because the steel is better, but more as a piece of art work. However, I would never buy a tool that I never planned on using. Its a great prick with a profile I love.

@@TonyVirelli Than is the steel 301 stainless just like sparrows or something different that was also the question asked?

@@BelmontClan Its 301 high yield stainless steel. I'm not 100% positive, but I believe it is slightly different 301 from the steel that sparrows gets. The UTS or Ultimate tensile Strength of this 301 is incredibly high at over 291050 PSI or 2006N/mm2. I believe Sparrows is 280000 PSI.

@@TonyVirelli So both are reasonably strong, I’d still rather put $56 into a sparrows tool set and get more bang for my buck as it were, but that’s just me.
Still when it comes to picks and custom handles if there is a demand for them there will be people to buy them.
That’s just the law of economics, if people want something there will be a market for it.

@@BelmontClan yep. I literally have almost every "well known" pick set out there. Ratyoke picks are 100% like buying art. You own one because you love and appreciate the work that goes into making one. Its like buying a painting instead of a poster. Yes, they both show the same picture and do the same purpose, but there is more to appreciate from the painting than the poster.

Well, in that case, I could point you to some much worse disappointment if you like! LOL
