I have always had such an awe for Maisky and the way he plays. This was in incredible episode. "You never finish, properly. At least, That's the idea. The more you learn the more you realize how little you know and how much more there is to learn. So it's a continuous process. I always say that trying to reach perfection in music, or any art, is like an illusion. It's like trying to reach the horizon. The closer you come the more it goes away. It doesn't mean the man shouldn't try to come closer but as long as you realize you will never touch it there is no frustration."

Watched a number of these videos… great guests, sure but I have to really give credit to Zsolt Bognar for such a highly professional work - the quality of presentation, language, questions, insights and the incredible energy he creates for his guests. If only one percent of actual “journalists” or news professionals had his vocabulary, humility and manners

Dear Henrik, your words mean more than you can imagine especially at the very moment. Although I alas am not a real journalist, I do my best to assemble a lot of research for preparation, and then during walks and sleepless nights I give thought to what a conversation might bring-each takes so much. But hearing your words makes me feel like continuing-thank you from the bottom of my heart, from musician to musician, zsolt ✨🙏

@@Living-the-Classical-Life I truly mean it! My father was a prominent journalist in the country I was born and occasionally interviewed musicians, too (Gergiev, Mansurian). I almost went to journalism/writing myself. While this doesn’t give me any opinion more weight, having grown up in an environment of journalists and musicians, I do realize the gigantic effort you need to invest in all of this, especially combined with your professional life as a musician!! I can’t stress enough how well-thought your questions are, the structure, timing and language, and how your demeanor creates an atmosphere where your guests feel very comfortable opening up to a genuine conversation. Thank you for the effort and quality!!

I just listened to Joshua Bell talk about knowing is mind, and here is this GIFT from some other realm again, helping confirm the best of life, effort of mind… and effort and making more effort to “know” the expressive power of sound through work and personality. THIS interview with Mr Maisky….drawn out by Zolt again and his team; inspires a trust in seriousness. No matter what stage of life we are at. It’s ok to be serious no matter what level. So so grateful for these unique soul to soul interviews. Thank you.

I am loving this interview! Out of the new interviews that you have put out, this one and Emmanuel Pahud are my favorites!!! I have a couple of requests for interviews: Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Martha Argerich, Tiffany Poon, Daniel Barenboim, Jasmine Choi, Hilary Hahn, your teacher Sergei Babyan, Sir James Galway, Denis Bouriakov, any of the McGill brothers or Alondra de la Parra. Btw, I love Mischa Maisky’s recordings of the Bach Cello Suites.
