Thank you guys for sharing your incredible knowledge of the beloved medium, this has become my favorite channel/podcast. Keep those manicured hands fetish worthy Ed P.
Was fun to get your brief thoughts on Marvel UK. One of their books, Super Soldiers, was my favorite read out of everything my dad and I would get monthly. Used to blow through it in like 10-15 minutes and couldn’t wait for the next one. I was age 12-13 in 1993
Whilce is one of my all time faves. I own a few of his pieces and I'll never let em go.
Can’t thank you enough for these videos guys - please keep them coming!
I remember being so disappointed when Aliens 3 came out because I’d read that wizard article saying their would be “pit bull aliens cat Aliens chicken aliens” and I think there was a only a dog alien in it for like a minute?
Still one of my fav podcast series on RUclips, thanks so much
Sarah Byam had some Aliens comics in early-ish Dark Horse Presents that are very good.
Didn't know of other work by her until this video, will seek it out now!
hey there ED just wanted to wish you and Jim and all of your friends hear on youtube and all of the artist a big Marry Christmas to you all and thank you very much for letting me part of your channel and love your content very much bro learning a lot so stay blessed stay safe and may you all of your followers hear on youtube and to all of your friends that are artists may you all have an amazing and successful new year in 2019 bro ,halla!
I’d love to see you guys go over Mike Grell Green arrow. That series is drawn so great imo and I love that he thought “Green Arrow” sounded hokey so he didn’t refer to him as such throughout the series
Catching up on episodes, just wanted to drop a quick follow up on the Alien 3 thing - Dark Horse is currently adapting the William Gibson script as a comic, and I apologize if anyone else has commented about that on here/twitter/ whatever.
Great podcast fellows. Keep up the awesome work.
The Bishop storyline with the X-traitor was eventually revealed years later to be Professor X as Onslaught.
That PORTACIO layout/design is insane...Some unusual design choices at WIZARD back in the day.
What if….whilce was fully aware of the speculator boom but instead of feeding the comics is dying machine he was like “ yeah we can only go up from here” because it’s in his best interest to keep people hyped!🤣
great video,guys.
STAR*REACH is worth back issue diving for.
would love to see y'all do an episode on it.
Sick promo on Zen 👍😂
I have that dog-eared Marvel Frankenstein that Berni illustrated.
I worked with the Zen guy on a project for a few years as a younger man. Say nothing else but that dude is constantly on the hustle 24/7.
That's totally clear. Since most cartoonists lack that skill, the guys with mediocre creativity and tons of hustle stand a good chance of success in our game.
28:00 I loved Trevor Von Eeden when I was a kid and now. Perhaps you could interview or do a show about him?
Interesting that Ed mentions belly laughing with Pete Bagge. I have an early memory of that as well. An early X-mas scene from Hate. I bought one of the collections at a flea market in Marin County. They had a LOT of copies. Made me think the seller was a printer rep. Or something.
Stephen Shamus is listed as 'TOUGH GUY' in the Wizard masthead, hah!
Nice!
I think Brian's U.S. AGENT was shown in the fig guide. HE SNUCK IT IN!
You're right!!
Anybody know if Mike Friedrich is still an art agent?
Wizard spelled Rik Levine’s name incorrectly as “Rick Levins.”
Get that hand fetish $$$$$$!!!!
1:27:40 IM DED 😂😭☠️
Roger Cruz's jobber Joe Mad stuff is wack but his personal stuff is much better, just sayin
Roger is an amazing guy and great artist too, his latest comics are fantastic!
