      I usually love your content but in this case, a total L take. I run an ST group that has cleared every week in a reasonable time and I have a range of DPS parsers from high 80s down to 10-15s. And no one complains. You know why? Cause I make it crystal clear up front that in my raids, I don’t give a shit about what your parse is. I’d rather take a 20 parser who does all the mechanics than a 99 zugbrain who ignores them just to try and get that elusive 99. My raids are chill, fun and get the job done. And that’s why the people who parse in the high 80s come back week after week. Cause they prefer the more laid back approach. And on the nights where I need to pug, my main focus is on people who know the fights over those who can link me their perfect 99s run. But, people should play the way they like so I have nothing against people who won’t raid with a 20 parser, they just are less likely to get invited to my raids cause that’s not the mindset I want to encourage.

      @sloid32 I may not have been as articulate because this was meant to be a comedy video, but I do agree with that. I'd absolutely take a 20-40 parsing person who does mechanics, is chill, presses their buttons, etc. In this video though, I was mostly talking about people who are sub 10-20 parses, who don't try and expect to be given spots, loot and company for no effort. But again, I do agree.

    As a retail player, I have been surprised by the amount of toxicity and elitism within the easiest version of WoW.
    Parsing in Classic WoW is like winning 5th grade Track & Field day lol

    • @EbonhardtTV
      @EbonhardtTV  Месяц назад +2

      Classic is probably one of the easiest games I've ever played. I'm by no means a great gamer, but I'm Masters at League, and did basic Mythic raiding in Retail back in the day. But Classic is definitely one of the most toxic game modes I've ever played, and I have wondered why that is the case. Even bad players gatekeep which is amusing.

      At the same time, I feel like I hear about it a lot more than I experience it. If you play with a guild, you will typically avoid 90% of it LFG chat PUG drama lol.
      I don’t take Classic or SoD all that serious. I don’t play with addons and have done all of the raids on my Steam Deck. I just show up, press my buttons and get some loot. Most Classic bosses are just “attack the boss” and move from the danger occasionally.
      When I go back to retail to do a m+ key or heroic raid, I get enough of the sweaty, unrelaxing gameplay with 20-30 keybind and addons.
      I could rant for days at how much I don’t enjoy raiding in Dragonflight. Ever since the end of Legion, raiding has been a visual mess and stressful.

    • @CatDad09
      @CatDad09 Месяц назад

      But I think at the end of the day, it comes down to loot. In retail, you don’t HAVE to work that hard for it and it’s not as scarce.
      You can login each week, do a few M0s and LFR, claim your Vault reward, spend your Bronze Bullitens, do a weekly time runner quest and end up at the same ilvl as a raider after upgrading your gear. It’s just going to take you longer.

    Reasons to remove world buffs
    - Artificially influences the logs, creating a false impression of bad or good performance and therefore also influences pugs, as most players will often have parses without WB.
    - prove artificial parses for an unchallenging performance, just time and the right time and right place.
    - main reason,>>> not fun

  • @danilnepriakhin5365
    @danilnepriakhin5365 Месяц назад +3

    that's why I don't even touch SoD, was meant to be game for fun for dads even, now it is warcraftlogs big contest like hungry games, where only 90+ parse would get you anywhere.I could understand you would not like to get someone who really does less damage than a last healer in the group, but parses are not dps only and I assume having decent dps alone would still probably able to qualify lower than 50 or even 30, if you not follow rotation exactly or missing some mechanics. Good I did not even came to SoD at first place and found quite nice place in cata raiding within a guild.

    • @EbonhardtTV
      @EbonhardtTV  Месяц назад +2

      For sure, SoD is a weird thing, where people are parse checking and all that shizzass, and honestly, I hated that entire part of the gameplay loop. But after being griefed in several runs by people who put absolutely no effort in, and I don't mean Healers whose parses work differently, I'm talking about Hunters or Warriors who do almost no DPS, because they just don't care. SoD is a great game mode, but letting this kind of atmosphere simmer for so long did lead to a rather negative overall experience for alot of players.

  • @ToHonorKnowledge

    I parse 99 on my main (Rularuu - Wild Growth NA) but I also run pugs on my prot pally who has no logs. The point of my prot pally pugs is to LEARN. We go in no WBs no Consumes and we sit and we talk as much as we need to to learn what’s happening. Over the course of phase 3 I took a group of 40-50 parsers and helped them achieve their 80-90 parses.
    Just like real life, if you need other people to solve a problem, it’s best to approach with compassion

      For the world buff , yes it is lame. Any wipe and your run is dead. That's where the toxicity comes from. People don't want to risk a wipe
      Very bad for beginners.
      For the consumes , I disagree , it is good to have to prepare a little to go to raid.
      But world buffs are horrible and toxic

    • @bovverification
      @bovverification Месяц назад +1

      purple parses are still possible even without wordlbuffs. I raid in a very casual guild (2hrs+ temple clear time), no worldbuffs or consumables mandatory. I could find a stronger raid, but it's fine for me. The people are nice, the atmosphere is good and I can relax and play the game.
      I've never seen hakkar with worldbuffs, because we wipe at least once before. Still got a 75 as my best parse on hakkar and that was with 8 people parsing grey.

    • @fanofcodd
      @fanofcodd Месяц назад

      @@bovverification yes of course , but if you are a player who want to have some top parses , you need to be sure to have no wipe on that raid.
      That's why I'm in a guild with the same spirit. And when we have to find a pick up because a guildie can't be here we have to gatekeep to be sure to find somebody good enough.
      But gatekeeping in a full pick up I don't see the point.
      World buff should stay after death , it would make life easier for everyone and get rid of some toxicity

    OK, so I have played since vanilla and I parse most tiers avg 95-99.4% up to dragonflight. Back into wotlk and again now in cata.
    I love my life, wife and kids. But it is frustrating to pug with people that lick the keyboard. Those casuals that don't want to learn, that want to lay on the floor and get to roll on gear do irritate me and ill speak up and expect more.
    Those avg players, that don't parse high but learn mechanics are enough to clear content.
    But just because someone parses 99, doesn't mean they are not intimate with their wife, and that wow is their life. You have a very warped perspective. You sound mad at life lol.

    • @simonzendel1122
      @simonzendel1122 Месяц назад +1

      Not at all, if I am making a group I am not taking grey parsing players with 2-3 kills that have died on every encounter and just burden the rest of the group. 50% is an average player. 49% of the player base are worse. I would much rather take players of a higher calibre and use my time effetiently. I am in the process of coaching 2 players that are new and grey parsing. They are putting in effort to get better, guides, log reviews, practicing their rotations, and learning to sim etc. But I do that within guild runs/time. If I pug, I want a safer option so I don't waste a lockout.
      Anyone that doesn't understand this or see the merits in building safer pug groups is probably a poor player or has an abundance of time to spend hours wiping.

Your experience pugging an outdated leveling raid while servers are the most dead they've ever been is irrelevant lmao get outta here with that you should EXPECT to be hard carrying people in something like that.

      This was an older clip I just recently repackaged. I recorded this back around the launch of Phase 3. And I do agree, as I've cleared every raid even with bad players. Classic is an easy game, which makes it interesting that people can be that bad it. But this video was meant to be a comedic take on the situation though.
