That's true - the way you put it. They didn't simply 'hear a little music' at some church. Gert's performance of Heer U bent mijn leven - in particular, the slow, prayer part, was spiritually gifted (to those who perceive it).
This variation is incredibly difficult, and Gert is playing when he plays it! He is playing with his whole body, something amazing! Bravo Gert! :-) 6:38 Well, it's shivering on the back. How he can build musical tension so wonderfully and majestic!

Yes. Have you (anyone) stopped to think about how this young man plays the foot pedals at times in this piece. At times he is playing highly difficult passages with his feet alone ! And not even looking at them when he is doing it ! Many organists can play accompanying foot notes while playing a piece on the keys. That is commonplace. But Gert goes well beyond that, as shown here. Given that he is fully occupied by a keyboard passage at the moment, his foot pedal passages are truly spectacular.
@@johnkaylor3929 Yup. Some organists have to have special thin souled shoes to play. What fascinates me is it does not seem to matter to him what shoes he is wearing. He plays with sneakers or various shoes with equal ease. I am so grateful he shares the joy of this great music.
Gert's videos are wonderful. Great music played by a world-class musician who has an extensive repertoire, with a beautiful trophy lady seated next to him. This is a tough act to follow.

Gert is the best organ player I ever heard. And I play organ for 20 years and I heard a lot of people. This piece is really difficult. You know only - when you try to play it. Just genius interpretation.
I agree. Gert does NOT merely play keys, and move his feet around through the notes. Many could do that. What Gert does is produce truly beautiful, soul touching sound. And naturally. This is an earthly blessing to those of us who perceive it.

I believe this is an actual real-life intervention by God into our material world ( which He actually does at times - He has done it on other occasions) He chose to bring an angel of joy (musically) into the world. My problem is that Gert has so many stunning performances. Literally. Just when I find myself enthralled by one of his greatest pieces - I go back to a previous one and now I'm 'counter-enthralled' by the different one. For Gert to produce so many performance Masterpieces is very simply unparalleled in my experience in this world.
