I'm torn between St. Baaf's and Liverpool Cathedral for most epic organs, and Gert's improvisation of 'Land of Hope and Glory' on Liverpool's Willis & Sons organ is beyond glorious.

Gert improvisation was excellent and the fact that he was his own registrant proves his skills and musicality. It is a compliment when a person is told, "you nailed that performance". I hope you have heard of the expression, "hit the nail on the head"? It was an outstanding performance.😊

That's the most confusing looking organ console I've ever seen, but it Gert handles it masterfully, as always! Thank you Gert for a wonderful improvisation!
Well... It looks to me like it has rocker-style tabs for stops, and a total of seven rows of tablets, three of them positioned above each of the stoprails and four set aside above all the stoprails on the left side of the console. I believe the three rows above each stoprail are for setting up three combination pistons on the left side just under the Choir (Manual I.) The four additional rows on the upper left wing of the console are probably the same idea but for setting up the four buttons on the right side below the Choir manual. None of this would be intended to make the organ complicated, but actually to simplify the organist's job by providing the ability to change registrations instantaneously.

Thank you Gert. I enjoyed the rather breezy improvisation that you wove around two very famliar tunes that are among my favorite hymns; Thine Is the Glory and Abide With Me. The Handel tune is rather regal, to me. The melody and chord progressions in Abide With Me which support the melody always have brought comfort to my soul. It continues to speak to me since I was a child. Thanks for continuing to share with us your love of music and for bringing us interesting music played on such historic instruments from a land I can only hope one day to visit.
