Hi Simon, doesn't selectee number refer to the number of independent entrees selected disregarding dependents? So, a family of 4 will probably have 2 principal entrees, assuming children are under 21. If 1 person gets selected, that would be ONE selectee for the family of 4. Correct me if I'm wrong.
You're wrong. Each case number has a principal selectee (the winner). Each family member of that principal is another selectee. So - a family of 4 will be 4 visas in total.
@@BritSimon wouldn't that mean that if both principals get selected, we would have 8 visas taken up by that family? I think that would explain why the 55,000 visas are never fully issued. There will definitely be cases like this. Good to know though. It made me realize how small a fraction of principals actually get selected.

You don't need to update for small changes like that. But even if you did it would not cause delay.

No, as long as his birth certificate shows he is your child. If the embassy is doubtful they can ask for DNA tests.

It's usually one time. However, in some years there is a small second draw, so people can check again one more time in October/November.

If your number is in the wrong region, and you are not married to someone from that region, disqualification is certain.
