Andrew I discovered you a few days ago, hooked immediately. I am 54, African female, my son is 22. I am learning a lot from you and super inspired. You're so authentic and good. Your confidence in this video is elevated 😉 😊 keep up the good work 👏
Well, how can you know for sure? Indeed it has style that crosses with gawx, but it doesn't mean it was influenced by him. Some people go the same way without even knowing that there is someone doing the same.
I’m a 70 year old ranch broker in Central Oregon. I come from a time where we used 20 or 36 exposure rolls of black and white film. My first aerial video work took place in helicopters with the door removed. I shot weddings and made 16X20 prints with a Nikon D70 - 6MP! I eventually went to Lumix M4/3 cameras for video and kept my Nikon D90 for still photography. I now use a Nikon D850 and. Lumix GH5 & G9II for my video along with a DJI Mavic 2 pro for the aerials. I’m getting ready to retire now and wondered where to go and what to do with my camera and video gear. My first idea is to do a mini-documentary about the people I worked so closely with for years - farmers and ranchers - to show “Where Your Food Comes From”. (Twinkies being but one exception). Your video has truly inspired me, Andrew. And also motivated me to stop planning and get busy with a shot list and start shooting the video, I’ve subscribed and so glad I found your channel. Like having my son explain this stuff. I’m grateful. Sorry to write War and Peace. Jim in Oregon
I’m a migrant creator from Myanmar, currently living in Bangkok, starting everything from zero again. I was kinda burn out these days. and I found out your channel. you really inspires me a lot to continue my creations.

I'm the 20%. I am making videos of rural India. You've done a lot of work to make this video and to tell your viewers the film making is not just easy.
I watched the entire video. Not sure if you’ll read this comment, but I’ll go ahead and write it anyway. Yes, it’s true I have noticed many of your videos in some of your shots you may repeat a shot, or even a line or two from Gawx videos or other people (I don’t know). To be clear, when it comes to the visuals, your work stands out with your color contrasts and your film grain nostalgic vibes. Visually however, yeah many of these shots have been done before and there’s really nothing new under the Sun, But here’s where you shine Andrew, In being yourself. Even though you have used many shots that are similar to other channels, it’s your willingness to be vulnerable and share with others what you are going through that really shines through. Even this video, for instance, the Gawx video was really well made, but it still maintains that air of mystery that he loves to have. The “how did he do that?” Or “How is he getting these kinds of shots?” Or “How is he putting out that much work?”, and sure there’s a place for that, but with your version, you have been more open and sincere about the ACTUAL Literal process, particularly with those BTS shots of you sharing your creative process, that’s awesome man and those are the kinds of shots that will help you shine through whatever imposter syndrome or feelings of not being good enough that may arise in you. Keep being authentic and being yourself, show us who don’t know but want to learn, what you know, and watch how others will have a bit of your work in their work. Wouldn’t it be great to see others sharing their inner most thoughts in a cinematic way just like you? Or sharing behind the scenes and being themselves just like you? That’s where your work shines. Authenticity, not visually, though very compelling and very well made, but in yourself and your willingness to be vulnerable. Great video, GOD Bless man

hi andrew, this is the first comment i've ever left on youtube. You inspire me. when I started coming up with an idea for my film, I found you and it was confusion in my career and ideas weren't coming, you were and still are the place I go to when I feel bad, uninspired and anxious about the future. You have an authentic shooting and editing style, I love it. Please release videos more often, even short ones, 2,3,4 minutes, it doesn't matter, the world needs to see it!!!!
I’m a 2005 film school graduate , and as I watched your video it reminded me a lot of one of my favorite movies from back then. Amelie. I loved that at minute 12:00 you had it on your whiteboard! Keep making good shit my man! 🤜🏻🤛🏼
Glad to be part of the 20% of the people who watches the whole contents you create! Also, really really thanks for making a complete and beautiful video, as always Andrew
The perfect remedy for a bad day and the cure for a corporate illness. I've been trying to figure out how to put on paper or digital the things going around in my imagination, I've been really needing this and it just comes in the perfect moment. Thank you, you have this amazing gift to transmit your feelings through every frame and that's rare nowadays ❤
Literally watched this video to help prepare for my first video back into filmmaking after burning out 6 months ago. This was so encouraging and just got me fired up and excited to step back into filmmaking. Thanks Andrew. Your and inspiration :)
endless flow of cuts under two seconds, and special effects. it is that kind of "filmmaking" everybody today thinks is the best thing. BECAUSE EVERYBODY IN THE BUSINESS IS DOING IT! their work will be forgotten and people will be watching "stalker", "reservoir dogs", "Turin horse" etc still in the year 2544.
Okay, So I wasn't going to say anything until I realized you're still doing this in your latest video release. As an audio guy, I work for a radio station, and I'm an audio reporter, one thing you need to do is work on your vox, you voice track. You're obvious really reallly good with the visual aspect, and I know you care about sound design, you just haven't gone to the next step of audio just yet. It's not a criticism per say, as you're already doing ten times better than most people by even being considerate enoug to think of soud design and to use at least a yeti. That being said, I would reccomend two things, first, when you're recording your voiceover remember you have two parts, actualities and vox. The human ear can tell that you're not actually speaking in the clips where you mouth along in time and fill it in with the same vox track you use during shots where it's obvious you're not supposed to be speaking in the shot. The parts where you speak and mouth along are your actualities, the parts where you're not speaking and the voiceover is just that are your Vox portions. Seperate these two, and when you record your actualities do so with a slightly different recording set up. Literally move to a diffrent part of the room, move the mic position, use a diffeent mic, or all of it. That way, the parts where you mouth along will sound different from your Vox and it will really sell that you're not just mouthing it in the video, or at least that the audio track might be real. When it's all the same, there's nothing to sell and the effect doesn't work. Second, upgrade your mic. Blue yeti... I mean, I get it, but a real mic will make a huge difference, as big a jump as the yeti is from the internal mic on most cameras. Anyway, genuienly, not meant to be hating or negatively critiquing, just trying to encourage you to improve your already stellar work.
Hi Andrew! I wanna take some time and just say thank you for inspiring me and helping me through this cinematography journey. I am a 17 year old high school student who is currently brainstorming their first film in hopes of getting accepted to film school! Your work is amazing and your visual storytelling is out of this world. I’m currently struggling in a lot of areas right now, from the way things look to how they feel. I know I’ll get over it, because every time I watch you I feel empowered. Like you said, that small 20% who stays for the end of the video definitely feels like you’re gonna go great places. I find it helps to watch to the end, especially if the person’s work helps me (i mean the fact that I can get his level of assistance for free is inane). Just so you know, your work is simply amazing and inspires me to do better. I hope one day, after I make my film of course, we can get in touch. Thank you again, and I’ll be looking forward to your next video.
After the algorithm threw “I learned the greatest life lesson.” in my face, I was all in; there is something with your style or editing. I can't put my finger on it, and I think that's what I like so much about your videos! 20%

I just started shooting videos, just for myself for now but it is thanks to you. I watched one of your videos and I am obsessed with them because I like colors so much. I am painting my own portraids because I can create new colors by blending some of them. Like I said your videos feels like I saw a beautiful dream and wake up with it's taste. Please keep making new videos, they are so cinematic and satisfying and sincere
One of the best visual details you have! with a reminder, to be aware of the part of the video that gives time for the viewer to think something else. like the part were you explained about Milanote...
Hey Andrew, I’m apart of the 20%!! I really appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos and it’s wonderful to see your creativity shine. I have been afraid to post due to being a complete beginner, and not as good as the people I look up to. I really want to get better though, so I will fail on until I find my way 😂!! Thanks again for your encouragement in these videos. I can only dream to create something as beautiful as you do one day. Keep going bro
Just found your dream chase video, which led me here, while working on a project I'm not passionate about for work. You have given me inspiration where no one else could. Instead of focusing on my work, I have starting thinking I can too do what my dreams tell me to do. Maybe along the way I'll get happier. Either way, watched the video all the way to the end. Thank you for existing.

20 percent crew. Great vid man. Been doing some of this type of filming myself and its hard! Very time consuming so cool to see how long it took you overall.
I’m happy to have run across this film. I’m a filmmaker who struggles with exactly everything you presented. I’ve searched through RUclips University and haven’t found a person (teacher lol) who can help me learn and this video was a start for me to actually grasp and understand things. Thanks for this video and very helpful.
Corry for my English, I don't speak it, but I'm trying very hard. I happened to come across your video, and the way you shoot, frame and voice. It's amazing! You inspire me.
The first video I’ve seen that shares how to tell a story, by using a story 🤯🤯 Cinematic masterpiece 💯 😮💨 This video is going straight to the top 💪🏼 Thanks for all the hard work and never giving up on yourself ! We appreciate it out here in RUclips land 🙌🏼
From one Andrew to another, this video is so well put together. I feel like I can actually get organized and finish projects I've been sitting on. Part of the 20%, keep crushing it!

Brooooo, thank you so much for this video. I've been watching all your videos and recently just bought myself some gear to start filming myself. Thank you for the inspiration and going into detail about your process. Love your work and authenticity. Definitely always part of the 20% crew! Big fan
Absolutely amazing put together. Great story, visuals and sound. Massive talent you got! Been a big inspiration for me, since i discovered you. Extremely humble and authentic. Peace!
Always part of the 20%. As someone who aspires to make quality videos like yours, this is a great help. I lack the skills really but you're really inspiring. I was jotting down notes as I watched this. And yeah, I failed miserably over the last few years as you can see in my channel. LOL! But I want to get back and get back stronger. See on the other side of the grind.
I love your sound, lighting and camera angles on this. Awesomely informative video - thanks so much for taking the time to create and share this. The bit I get stuck with is the story-boarding - and having creative inspiration for chopping and changing scenes and angles to create something that's engaging to watch. But, as you say, practice-practice-practice ... I have LOTS of practice ahead of me 🤣🤣

20 percent crew. Great vid man. Been doing some of this type of filming myself and its hard! Very time consuming so cool to see how long it took you overall.
I’m part of the 20% that watched through and I’m from Nigeria, thank you this was very helpful…
I'm an 8 year old man from east antarctica and i really dig your videos! Beautiful work! Big inspiration!

See on the other side of the grind.
thank you man! youre so cool and awesome. thanks for all the tips :) I really enjoy your content!
I have LOTS of practice ahead of me 🤣🤣
This is a great watch. Thank you. Made me think and feel creative. Off out to play now. Thank you.
I really enjoyed to get to know more about your creative process, man! Keep it up!
I’m glad RUclips pushed this video on my timeline! This is great stuff
