- I tested a €1000 Electric Mountain bike versus a €6000+ high end Cross Country Mountain bike to see which is faster! The results are surprising!!!
This video is mostly a fun-project. What would the difference be? and can I rip the El Ceapo just as hard as my proper race bike? super fun day racing the Eskue Netuno plus and my BH Lynx Evo against each other on our local ''mtb'' trail.
Next thing would be riding a proper downhill track and a REAL high end E-MTB!

The ebike clearly isn’t meant to used (or realllly not advised) on a proper MTB route. The suspension on that bike seemed equal to an everyday commuter’s. But for a beginner rider, who wants to enjoy the mountain scenery (on a forest tarmac or light gravel) it is maybe a good choice. Although I would save some more money and buy a real MTB, getting fit is also part of the journey. :)

This really surprises me! I recently saw (not comparable but ok) a comparison between the 997 Turbo and the 992 Turbo with Ben Collins as driver. Even when I prefer the 997, I already knew the result beforehand.
This, in contrary , was not what I expected! I don't know this MTB route, but I really thought you would gain time on the flat parts and handling.
The fully is definitely a better bike and way faster on any proper trail 😜

id go for a brand that has 2 bottle cages in the XC frame ;) you'll need it in the hot climate. (I'm also changing to a different bike in 2024 for cape epic!) See you in Africa!!@@pieterboshoff2982

Lol! That soaking wet patch before the last fence came unexpected.
I had not expected that a little 250W motor would be a difference given what machine you are. And you maybe even lost 20s by going careful on the rock garden.
I think you need more time to get used to the E bike, to break in. I have seen guys riding E bikes in my local trails and I can not keep up with them. I have seen guys flying downhill on E bikes in any terrain or conditions.
On proper quality ebikes, sure. On this thing, no thanks 😜
Yeah there were lots of ups and downs. Pretty much the whole track is looping up and down..
Cape epic with the ebike. No more training needed, just a good charging point in the camp.

Maybe Eskite was the fastest but definitely won't survive a second lap 😅 maybe next video would be durability test for Eskite : how many laps he Can survive? Maybe a short is enough 😂
I rode the Eskute 1x on a real Mtb ST, instant flat (snakebite) an no way to change the tube (rear wheel is locked in with bolts and the electric motor)
And also had a flat during this shoot actually.
So in real life, it won’t be possible to actually ride it and keeping rolling 😜🤪
On may first last year i broke my arm on that track. Sliding of one of those little bridges...😢
