Im 44. My periods have always been heavy. But im pretty sure im going through peri menopause but my main symptons is dread and anxiety. I have an appt to see about it next month so fingers crossed that the doctors will agree with me that its perimenopause and not bad mental health only 😪

Because menses and childbirth aren't enough, now we have menopause. A dirty little secret that no medical professional prepares you for, let alone talks about. And when you ask questions, you get things like "that's just how it is'. I had no perimenopause symptoms and have never had a hot flash. Ok, great but sleep? It's an illusion. And my anxiety, which i never had, continues to escalate. I'm not "pitiful' as one poster noted below but candid, open discussion always makes things better.

I went from having a little ranch in Texas, 15 animals ( horses, donkeys, and dogs), working and competing in rodeos on the weekend to being homeless for the last 2+yrs ( it's still ongoing). I'm starting to think the root cause of me not being able to get myself out of this mess, is peri-menopause / menopause ( not sure which) I'm 52 now

We are so sorry to hear about your homelessness, that is truly upsetting. Hopefully there are some stories on our channel, and some information on our website at www.herstasis.com that might help you get on the road to recovery and back to your beloved animals. If you still have any period then you are still in the menopause transition (perimenopause). So many of us have debilitating emotional issues that we never talk about so we don't know what's happening to us. Big hugs from Herstasis.

We women have always experienced it and whilst some do suffer terribly, a lot of us don't. Why is it now being promoted as if it makes us all disabled, even pitiful creatures? I very much resent it.
For those really suffering, soya capsules and I have read magnesium from a good health store do help a lot with flooding and hot flushes, although I recommend two or three days taking them and two or three days not as they mimic hormones and cause women to grow stray chin hairs and the voice to deepen it taken every day, which stops when no longer taking them. For me it was worth it even though flooding was my only inconvenience.

Lucky you! If you haven't experienced terrible menopause symptoms, count yourself fortunate. However, it's essential to have an open discussion about it for the millions of women who do. They need to know that there is support available and that they're not losing their minds. Above all, we need to make sure they understand they're not alone and remove any shame or embarrassment associated with this completely normal part of aging.

It’s a relief to know that someone out there is finally giving women’s mid-life, peri menopause and menopause the much needed attention it deserves. I, like many others, feel like we are stranded on our own island to deal with all the hellish symptoms that last for years! 99% of doctors have no clue how to bridge the gap to where we as women can maintain a normal life. This is my third year into peri and it’s been dreadful and I’ve been to my gyno and a functional doctor , and neither have dialed into ME and what I need to live daily life without feeling like a bloated, sweaty, moody, no libido; painful abdomen, erratic cycles, depression and chronic anxiety (just to name a few). I really hoped by now somebody could have made this transition easier. This at least gives me hope. 🫶🏻
