I have the Vive Pro 2, and one thing to remember if you have mirrors and shiny reflective items on the walls and in the room, these items will cause interference and glitching with your VR setup.
Got a brand new kit for a $600 discount from Adorama. Traded out the wands for the index knuckles. So far having a blast with it, huge upgrade from the Quest 2 I used before.
Amazing deal! I kept my wands due to some older titles not being compatible with the index controllers. For me tho in most cases the index controllers are by far better. If you play emuvr with some of the light gun titles the wands do feel better due to the shape. That's about the only time where the wands are better.
I have vive pro 2 for 8 months, Im having issues with controller wands directional pads being lazy at times. Other than that I love it. Looking to upgrade to index controllers.
I would recommend contacting htc for a replacement. If they are anything like valve they should replace it without issue The index controllers are my go to for a lot of vr titles. If you do upgrade you'll love the hand strap, the finger tracking, the thumbstick and the pressure sensitive grip. For example in half life the harder you grip the controller the more a can will become crushed. With the vube wands they are great for emuvr when you're doing light gun emulation.
I'm looking for a modern headset with displayport connection to replace my Rift S (for sim racing) and the Vive Pro 2 seems to be the only somewhat affordable option one out there,...if I manage to score the lighthouses for a good deal on Ebay. That said, My Rift S has a similar cable arrangement (pretty much identical to be precise), and due to the nature of the Rift S halo, I have to adjust it every time I put the headset on,...and I use it every day! The cable is still in perfect condition. That's a material issue and has nothing to do, with adjusting the head strap. Maybe the Pimax Crystal Light would be a better option.
I got the full kit for a good price used. I'm kinda focused on sim racing type stuff with it, so the flaws it has are kinda irrelevant to me. I was happy with a cheap WMR headset in the first place.
Don't get me wrong it's still an amazing headset even woth the flaws, but I guess all headsets have their drawbacks. I am still happy with mine paired with the index controllers.
My issue with quest. Battery, i don't want something that can Explode at any moment on my face, i know it's very very rare issue. Other thing is still battery but with htc or any pcvr headset ypu don't care about battery lifespan as much as I did with quest 2. One less battery to worry bout beside trackers.
Are you currently looking for a pc vr headset or a standalone hmd? With the vive pro 2 due to it being a base station hmd you can select multiple controllers including the index controllers. Plus with base station 2.0s you'll be set with newer controllers that are compatible. Do you currently have a pc build?
@@RXVR I've got a good pc for vr and I've recently got gen htc vive for less than 40 bucks in american currency. I'm really happy with it as previously I've had quest 2, only issue for me is lens quality on that and resolution as it's low on gen 1, so I'm thinking of upgrading to either better headset as vive pro 2 or doing the Samsung vr lens mod for my gen 1 vives
Just wondering.. Given the recent 2024 winter sale bringing the full package of the Vive Pro 2 down to essentially the same price as an Index full package, does this change your opinion about it in any way?
It all comes down to price and the individual who's purchasing it. Go and look at reviews and determine if it's worth it. I can't comment on the experience it provides.
Hi there, enjoyed your video. Has helped me in choosing my next headset, thank you. I have a question regarding your OS. Do you use windows 10 or 11? I'm using windows 11 and bluetooth will not connect to basestations unless 'Memory ingegrity' is turned off. This was not an issue with windows 10. If you are using win 11, have you had issues with this? many thanks, Mark
Thanks. Took around 4 hours to make with recording, voice overs and editing. Have you updated Windows, your gpu drivers, updated steam vr ect? If not try that. Also try and reinstall the steam vr software and see if that helps.
@@RXVR Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have tried all of what you suggested, but to no avail. Having to turn off memory integrity for the software to function suggests to me that the software does indeed need an update. Perhaps this has been corrected with the vive pro 2 software. I do appreciate your reply and suggestions, thank you very much. I can't see that every windows 11 user would have the same problem, so there is a solution out there somewhere 🤔. Cheers, have a great day 😀
Don't bother with this one. Mine lasted for barely 100 hours before it broke. The RMA process took 2 months and all they did was throw a new cable in the box and ship it back - without testing. It solved nothing.
too bad that the cables htc do are trash and they dont warranty them and blame users for the crappy cables... sick of buying new cables because they are fraying..

I haven't had any experience with that, but I barely have any reflective surfaces apart from one far in my play space.

I have a quest 2 too with the index knuckles, is it worth the upgrade to vp2? I mainly play vrchat with fbt
Why has this guy not got 1 million subs?
Thanks. I have made a massive improvement with my content quality. I wish I had more time for uploads

I was hoping the distortion was just the headset and it wasn’t anything else. I guess I played on my Quest 3 too long.
Unfortunately the vive pro 2 has edge distortion. With the headset it looks amazing in the centre.
@@RXVR Yeah I found that out. After some tweaking I got some good distancing

if htc vive 3 had same lenses asa apple vission pro it would be enough to justify the upgrade

what are your pc specs?
Looking to get this VR setup but I also wear glasses does anybody have any suggestions??
There are companies that do clip on prescriptions lenses for these. Send them your prescription and money and they make them.
amazing quality, however video is quite quiet
Thank you. I will keep that in mind.
is the old htc vive still wurth it like the first one

Got a used one for $320. Insane deal
i mostly gave up my htc vive elite back in 2023 of july b cause it broke and b cause of vrchat having their new anti cheat system :/
What the anti cheat does with the vive pro 2?

oh no thats not a good place to put your vr stands its blocking the pc ventilation ontop
With my stands being in this location my temps for my cpu and gou are the same.

worth it at less than $199.
Indeed it is if it's the full kit. If you don't enjoy the wands you could obtain index controllers.
I got it on 400 i already got 2 base station 2.0, 5 htc tracking 3.0, and index controller
The main thing for me regarding why I haven't had any interest in the quest 3 is due to the index controllers. They are amazing.
😑 "promo sm"
