  • In this video, I install a stainless steel boat prop onto my Mercruiser Alpha One Gen 2 Outdrive. The process is very simple and easy to do. You need very few tools. Its a good idea to remove your prop if the boat will be stored outside as people sometimes like to steal props. The removal procedure is the install procedure in reverse.

      @@605BOLT I've got sea ray seville cuddy cabin from 1986 with 4.3l mercruiser with alpha one gen 1. A lot of work till now to restore this classic boat.

      Oh for sure! Sounds very cool. Old boats are a ton of work but they don't make em like they used to.

    Any worries about greasing the nut? I mean, could it cause nut to come off during operations. Thanks

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  Год назад

      Normally yes, but if the lock ring is in place then it's good to go. Can't come off. I just didn't want the nut to get galled up. Not necessary to do but I didn't want problems in the future. The threads were a little bit gross so I wanted everything to install smoothly.

    What type and brand grease do you use? Do you recommend greasing once a year?

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  11 месяцев назад

      It's not necessary at all. Just regular old marine grease is what to used. I just didn't want it to be seized up for me next time I went to take it off. I would say install the prop and forget about it until you need to take it off again for whatever reason. Otherwise, it's not really a maintenance item.

    What type of lubricant are you using in this vid?

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  Год назад +1

      It was just a blue grease. Can go without if you would like. I just don't like struggling taking things apart that I put together.
