*BUY ALL OF THE DRONES, GET DRONE BACKUP, BUY MORE DRONES, WALK UP TO ENEMIES, WATCH AS THE DRONES BEGIN TO FILL YOUR ENEMIES WITH FIRE, LEAD, AND MISSLES.*
That's one way to do it. Here's another if you're feeling stupid and have the Command Artifact 1. Commando, Glass makes this even more insane 2. Core items: Solider's Syringe, AtG Missile Mk.1 (10 total), Hyper Threader, Beating Embryo, Shattered Mirror and other On-Hit items. 3. Activate Shattered Mirror and use Suppression Fire. If Embryo triggered you should release 18 missiles and lasers in less then a second. Watch the frame rate drop further as you also are using Double Tap so fast due to 100%+ attack speed boost. 4. Buy Drones, Drones and More Drones. With Arms Race to Fill the screen with Missiles! 5. Everything on screen and beyond dies. 6. Get gold to buy more Drones and Items.
Better yet, activate Honor, Glass, and Command, stack barbed wire, 56 leaf clovers, and run essentials. Eventually you'll get to the point where everything on screen dies and drops an item each time one of them dies
Such a fantastic song for an intense fight! Hell, the entire soundtrack is just bloody amazing, i bought it before the game itself! this is the song that gets your heart racing, and your brain activating. I love these songs, especially the final boss themes and the final stage themes too.
Just fought Providence. The beat of the music really makes this feel like a genuine one on one fight. I can't love it enough! Side note, I'm totally being Providence for Halloween
I am never not confident when I fight Mithrix and I always think "I'm gonna make Mithrix my bitch" every run. Providence actually makes me feel anxious for the fight. Mithrix honestly feels so easy compared to Providence. And the soundtrack I think highlights that. In the lore, Providence loves soul but Mithrix doesn't care for it so I think it makes perfect sense for Providence's theme to be much more intense than Mithrix's because Mithrix doesn't deserve a good theme. Soul is necessary to create and appreciate art but Mithrix doesn't care for soul so he has less art in his song than his brother. Whenever I hear those alarms blare 3 times, I get scared that I'm going to lose this run. Those deep bass thwomps at the beginning are like ominious footsteps of a being much more powerful than you coming to erase you from existence for meddling with their affairs. Providence's theme just screams "badass incoming" and the fight is challenging enough to warrant such a theme. When I see hammer boy on Monsoon, I feel no fear of losing the run. When I press the control panel to escape the planet and am interrupted by worm boy, I feel fear even on drizzle. Providence is just the better brother in both the lore and as a final boss and this song could not be more fitting for instilling the fear you should feel when fighting Providence. If you hear this song and DON'T think "this is a bad idea", your volume is too low
Atmosphere, this game has one of the best atmospheres ever. You feel bad for every single creature you've killed on your way. Except for Acrid cause you've unlock her that way,

The monsters were all hostile towards you. Then I realized why you’re the bad guy. If you leave, you’re going to tell whatever space corporation you’re from what happened, and they’ll come back to the planet for resources. You’re the colonists invading on the native people’s territory, not the other way around.
This wtong because of 3 things. 1: The explorer would neber tell someobe about this hell of place. 2: In RoR2 the ship's still there so you probably never madi it out. 3: Providence was who destroyed the ship and probably knew where it was going to land. 4 (that cane to mind while writing 3): The ship had to pass near the planet to land on it so the entire humanity already knew of it, i don't think you would go with an instelestelar ship whitout making a route you know, also it's trading not ecploring. I also think you aibt suposed yo make a escape pod go far a away so imposible for it to land in another solar system
@@azekia The item logs in RoR2 confirm the RoR1 Survivor managed to get away from the planet. At least, they managed to slay Providence and his Wurms. In addition, one of the mystery new characters for RoR2 could be the Paladin, a character who worships the RoR1 Survivor and has crafted his armor out of the UES Contact Light's old pieces.
A theory is that due to the prevalence of ruins of what would look like human constructs, that humans were there for a while and co-existing, and were allowed to research the planet. Humanity wanted the teleporter technology though, and started to take the ones on the planet to ship back to Earth, to use how they wanted through the galaxy. There is a chance that at this point they also started preforming experiments on the Imps. (From the black imp monster log- "I refuse to believe that the Imp has teleportation; that is for fairy tales and quantum physicists. I won't accept that it can achieve something biologically that the human race couldn't achieve in its entire history.") Providence was probably accommodating (again, it appears that there was a substantial human population on the planet, that could have easily been dealt with before it got to the point of entire research stations) until they started looting and killing the, probably docile, inhabitants. (From the Lemurian monster log- "The first sentient species I discovered on my unfortunate arrival.... These Lemurians have an extremely powerful bite but don't seem to employ weapons.... From what I've briefly seen they seem to enjoy song and dance." Child log- "I don't know how else to describe them, they seem so innocent until I approach." (there are lines about them being hostile to the player but it's important to remember that the logs are written by the survivor after the inciting actions of the game)) At this point, he rallied the inhabitants of the planet, and fought off the humans living there. Either some escaped and said what happened, or Earth found out in other ways. Either way, humans were removed from the planet entirely and their stations were destroyed. Enter UES Contact Light. UES itself was sent only to pick up a shipment from the planet. It's unknown if they knew what had happened there before. But they either knew enough to hire, or the Military did, a few mercenaries to protect the crew. These mercenaries though had no idea what the story of the planet was. (From Providence's log- "...so why do I feel like I made a terrible mistake? ... Why did we have a teleporter from this planet in our cargo hold?”). In the end, I do not think that there is much left to worry about for that planet itself. The survivors of that planet will eventually move on I believe. I dont know if they really wanted the natural resources of the planet. They wanted the teleporters. And now humanity has them. So the worst part wasn't what happened to the planet before and during Risk of Rain. What the problem is is that now humanity has the means to actually forcefully colonize or harvest planets anywhere in the universe they want. (ror2s lore actually somewhat leans into this theory also, judging by 'A Moment, Fractured's log seemingly being half of a conversation between brothers that may have developed teleportation tech. It also implies that Earth is doomed, and that the speaking brother is desperate to go out to other planets, but the silent brother seems to have reservations, knowing what humanity will do once there.)
@@silvervirage2491 I personally think that the two people talking to one another in the Moment fractured log are actually Providence (the silent one) and his, as yet, unnamed brother (the one talking) admiring there work on a primitive form of the teleporter technology, which I believe to be the obelisk. The manner in which the obelisk teleported someone, however, was very deadly, as the focused convergence log says "don't let it take you." which probably means the device was originally created to make the obelisks teleportation more survivable. This doesn't help the survivor, because I think that the obelisk no longer has a destination, and so the survivor is caught endlessly in the teleportation process until it "takes them." "But why was it disconnected?' you may ask. Well, I think this is because Providence and his brother grew bitter towards one another due to Providences brother's annoyance at how much Providence cares about the creatures of the planet, and so he left to the planets moon, what may have been the original location of the obelisk and so the place it was meant to teleport them, as well as a few people like him and his brother who shared his views on his brothers actions, before severing their link with their home world out of spite. Evidence of this disagreement can be seen in the item log of the brittle crown, as well as the environment logs for Bulwarks Ambry and A moment fractured. What was most likely the breaking point that drew Providence's Brother to this was the sacrifice of the "Her" described in the item log of the Brittle Crown, though who this was, why she sacrificed herself and what her "gift" was are uncertain, though I do not believe her to be N'kuhana, but instead someone else for a reason I explain in the next paragraph, with the best choice, instead, being the "her" in the "her biting embrace" of the ice aspect, as it is equally vague, and it would make sense if "her gift" might be an aspect of power that Providence could give to his subjects. Anyways, from here, Providences brother started to create the lunar items we can get in the game, in order to help him take down his brother and, more importantly, the creatures he protects. We can see evidence of this, as he is most likely the "him" described in the item logs for Shaped Glass and Hellfire Tincture. At some point, a "heretic" was found in his group, and was severed as is described in the logs for visions and strides. I believe how he is imbuing these items with the powers they have is through N'kuhana, as A.) the pit below the lunar bazaar shares the same green fog as the one below the alter to N'kuhana in wetland aspect, and B.) Commando's challenge "incorruptible" requiring Commando to go without lunar items, as well as Scavengers with lunar items being referred to as "twisted" show lunar items as a corrupting force, and the aspect of corruption is called "N'kuhana's Retort." Newt being a peaceful shopkeeper towards the survivor enforces the idea that the people living on the moon are enemies of Providence, as they willingly help someone who will most likely try to kill him.
@@smorggs7860 Interesting take on the lore. I am not sure about that last part about the Newt since Providence was already dead by the time the Survivor found them. Though I supposed they might not know that he is dead, yet.

How to Beat Risk of Rain:
1. Go Acrid
2. Buy Drones
3. Buy More Drones
4. Seriously, BUY MANY DRONES
5. CRAP, MORE DRONES
6. Press C and go Left to Right
7. Jump as if you were in a Party
8. ??????????
9. Profit.
*BUY ALL OF THE DRONES, GET DRONE BACKUP, BUY MORE DRONES, WALK UP TO ENEMIES, WATCH AS THE DRONES BEGIN TO FILL YOUR ENEMIES WITH FIRE, LEAD, AND MISSLES.*
Don't forget one thing.
*MORE DRONES*
To add on to the drone tactic
*GET THE ITEM ARMS DEAL, NOW ALL OF YOUR DRONES SHOOT MISSLES*
That's one way to do it. Here's another if you're feeling stupid and have the Command Artifact
1. Commando, Glass makes this even more insane
Love the part around 2:10 sounds like the music is bouncing around in my head. This whole soundtrack deserves an award though
Such a fantastic song for an intense fight! Hell, the entire soundtrack is just bloody amazing, i bought it before the game itself! This song in particular is totally badass, that guitar is just like... Wow.
I can't help but wonder though, is the song from the magma barracks intentionally left out? It's one of my favourite songs as well, but i was surprised to not find it among the glorious selection of pure ear-joy. In any case though, SPLENDID job with the soundtrack!
Chris Christodoulou Well, this is rather embarassing... But, i found it just a bit later, after listening through once more a bit more closely. Apparently, i am not the most attentive person on this planet. My apologies for doubting the wholeness of the album, i should learn to look a bit more thoroughly before throwing such nonsense around. :v
The song i'm referring to is Tropic of Capricorn, by the way. Loving that guitar near the end of it!

Providence is gatekeeper, slaver, hoarder
- Mithrix
It is pretty much cannon that this is your theme, and if you disagree listen to this, why does the theme continue on through the ending screen after Providence is dead
this is the song that gets your heart racing, and your brain activating.
I love these songs, especially the final boss themes and the final stage themes too.
Just fought Providence. The beat of the music really makes this feel like a genuine one on one fight. I can't love it enough! Side note, I'm totally being Providence for Halloween
+GarraOfTheFunk14 good luck finding the costume, if you do alot of people will be like wtf are you?
You're covered. HyperLight Drifter's the Drifter looks similar so you can just modify a Drifter costume.
Wait until someone is commando
Average hammer fan vs Average two worms enjoyer

this song honestly fits providence's sassy walk.
If a remaster of this doesn't play when I fight Providence in Returns I refuse to beat the game.
I really, REALLY want to hear a cover of this done with live instruments, if the 16 bit/ downsampled version meant to fit with the game sounds this epic, the full fidelity version would perhaps be...
Face melting.
Man, I remember when I beat this game.
I had more than 1,000 life from the item Infusion, and I had seven drones.
SEVEN.
FUCKING.
DRONES.
More specifically, 1 regular drone, 4 attack drones, and two fire drones.
EDIT: Totally forgot to mention it was as Bandit.
I also had a friend, but he died in literally less than thirty seconds in the last two stages, and about two minutes into stage 4. He honestly didn't make that much of a difference, but I thought I'd mention it.
ThatColbyJackDude
i had jut beat the game after 160 minutes, from over-looping, i had so many items and with 9999 max health and the lost doll, i did massive damage to providence every half minute, that with the cannon, all i had to do was stay away from him and chip his health when i healed up.
zasetsu57 And i beated it as HAN-D with 4 normal drones and about 1000 hp (he's a tank) XD
zasetsu57 ThatColbyJackDude
Using Commando:
4 infusions, 9999 HP + 10 guardian hearts, 25 rusty jetpacks and 35 goat hooves, 44 glasses and 4 wicked rings with 6 alien heads and 35 soldier's syringes, 13 teddy bears and the white shirt, 52 mortars and 12 missiles Mk1 + an unknown number of Mk2, 3 drills, 5 bazookas, 4 sacrificial daggers and 3 masks, 40 gasolines and 21 will o the wisps, 37 crowbars, 15 leeching seeds, 38 scarves, and other assorted items that eventually went off-screen.
4 laser drones and a crowd of drones + assault drones that's too thick to reliably count (at least 10 assault).
Final time was 290:48. Third time beating the game. This is what happens when you abuse Boar Beach too much.

Providence in Risk of Rain (2013): 😊👍🏼
Providence in Risk of Rain Returns: 👹💀☠️
RoR veterans fighting providence in returns: (wait, why boss music is still playing?)
this theme is so fitting for providence. when you hear this you know you done messed up.
So the first time I heard this in game I said to myself "I should look the name of this track up. I like it."
So you're on a ship and in the area you're in there's a risk of rain. And the tracks name is Precipitation.
That's so awful, I like it.
How to beat the game:
Step 1: Get command
Step 2: Play commando
Step 3: Get at least 7 soldier sryinges, a lot of missile launchers (both green and red rarity) and ukeleles.
Step 4: Do whatever you want with red items, but always get a shattered mirror
Step 5: Hold down Z and watch
Can't handle en-masse crowds of enemies.
One-trys Providence?
Providence is really not even all that hard to beat. The biggest threat of the battle is the Shadow's black skulls. If you get hit by one of those, most of the time, you can kiss your run goodbye.
@@Archimonde259 The fight is pretty easy, just long if your a close rang character with good damage, movement, or rang. Also, those wurms. Damn, they can annihilate your health without you noticing.

Yet another amazing song!
You know, I always felt it was weird how Providence paints you as the bad guy. Not only was he the one who crashed the EUS Light, but all you did up to this point was defend yourself.
I won't accept that it can achieve something biologically that the human race couldn't achieve in its entire history.")
Providence was probably accommodating (again, it appears that there was a substantial human population on the planet, that could have easily been dealt with before it got to the point of entire research stations) until they started looting and killing the, probably docile, inhabitants. (From the Lemurian monster log- "The first sentient species I discovered on my unfortunate arrival.... These Lemurians have an extremely powerful bite but don't seem to employ weapons.... From what I've briefly seen they seem to enjoy song and dance." Child log- "I don't know how else to describe them, they seem so innocent until I approach." (there are lines about them being hostile to the player but it's important to remember that the logs are written by the survivor after the inciting actions of the game))
At this point, he rallied the inhabitants of the planet, and fought off the humans living there.
This doesn't help the survivor, because I think that the obelisk no longer has a destination, and so the survivor is caught endlessly in the teleportation process until it "takes them."
"But why was it disconnected?' you may ask.
I believe how he is imbuing these items with the powers they have is through N'kuhana, as A.) the pit below the lunar bazaar shares the same green fog as the one below the alter to N'kuhana in wetland aspect, and B.) Commando's challenge "incorruptible" requiring Commando to go without lunar items, as well as Scavengers with lunar items being referred to as "twisted" show lunar items as a corrupting force, and the aspect of corruption is called "N'kuhana's Retort."
Newt being a peaceful shopkeeper towards the survivor enforces the idea that the people living on the moon are enemies of Providence, as they willingly help someone who will most likely try to kill him.
@@smorggs7860 Interesting take on the lore. I am not sure about that last part about the Newt since Providence was already dead by the time the Survivor found them. Though I supposed they might not know that he is dead, yet.
