I could definitely see the bigger ones not holding the tire well. Have you had trouble with the bead slipping on them? Much rather have screws around the outside on a bigger wheel and tire
@@2fmrc Of the 3 sets I own, 1 was never together right and I bent it... the 2nd was assembled by one of The Rudeboyz at the 2016 TTC and the 3rd I mounted... took me an hour and a half.... No, I have not experienced the bead slipping on them... I also haven't tried them on any of my "overpowered" crawlers lol... My favorite wheels are stamped steel gmade www.gmade.net/sr03-1-9-steel-beadlock-wheels-uncoated-steel/ that are similar to the wagon wheels design, but they are thicker and the hex portion isn't separate. they look like plain jane stock steel wheels on my TRX4 Bronco, mine are painted orange then black so as I've chipped paint away they look old and rusted a bit
@@SeamusMacMattain yup I have 2 sets of the gmade wheels they are a breeze to mount compared to any other beadlocks I've tried. These stupid 24th scale beadlocks have me on the verge of throwing them in the garbage, what a serous pain in the ass.
If you see a edge or lip poking out then they aren't mounted correctly and will slip the bead. Pushing it in doesn't correctly sit in on the inner peice, it's like that with any rc beadlocks.
Never have any trouble with any of the larger bead locks. They actually have a good lip to catch. These really don’t have to catch that much. I’ve never had any slip once they were tightened down like this. I did slip my first set but they were half hanging out to start with because I got tired of messing with them lol. Now they are pretty simple to mount up with no issues. I’ve seen some people run regular 1.0 wheels with tires that aren’t even glued lol. Not like most of these trucks have that much power. My brushless setup would rip them straight off though 😂

POS wheels just cost me like 40$ which I dont care about it's the waiting time ordering knew wheels and tires so I think I'm done with the 24th scale for a while I dont even want to look at it right now lmao. Now I have some 1.9s to mount that will be WAY easier because they come with set screws like every other set of beadlocks I've ever had.....overall I hate these 24th scale rc4wd wheels with a passion.

Now that I’ve got these rc4wds down they aren’t so bad but I felt the same way the 1st 2-3 times I mounted them. It also depends what tire you’re mounting. The rok lox are the worst imo. I hate those tires anyway. Just another reason to not use them lol
Honestly u don’t need clamps if u use the 2 screw method. Just put 2 screws in opposite sides and make sure the wheel opening and screw holes line up and tighten the 2 screws and ur done! If the wheel openings or screw holes don’t line up just rotate in a clockwise direction until they both do and tighten down. It’s way simple once u get it once. Good luck. 👍
sit los yeah I just always lose my grip on this or that and it comes apart then I’m having to line it back up etc. I just clamp them so I don’t have to rely on my butterfingers lol. Then sometimes even when I run two screws through them they pop apart and my screw flies out and I gotta start all over. Getting more and more aggravated each time 😂
Wish I'd looked around a little now. These RC4WD, such a PITA with Baja Claws. Did not think of clamps, good one. Gotta do over any way. #1 I think they left enough room for longer screws. #2 only some of the axle nuts would even start to thread. Still don't get THAT! I DID spend five hours of patience exercise(Why can't I find ONE f'ing paperclip!)!! Tires with lead sticky tape around front inner liners really worked great tho.
Danny Johnson they are such a pain sometimes. Even with the clamps the rok lox are still really tough usually. Something about the inner part of that tire is stretched a bit or something.
@@2fmrc I have some hangover on mine. I have the chrome with rock creepers. I will use your fingernail/screwdriver method to try and get them all the way in.
Danny Johnson yeah sometimes they don’t mount completely flush and I’ll just run with them but it sometimes works to loosen the screws and push them in like I did. Just be real careful. I have poked a small hole in one before lol. It still works fine but you don’t wanna do that
Yeah any 1.0 will fit. Or should. Kinetic makes some nice beadlocks with colored rings for them also. They are listed on eBay. Definitely check them out sometime. I have a set I plan to show off soon.
Good video. Also, if you have long screws that fit, they can reach and tighten. Then use the normal screws, and eventually replace the long ones. If that makes sense. Haha. Have fun!

I really like these RC4WD stap steel wheels but nothing I do seems to make them fo together right I have 1 wheel and tire together after 3 hours... makes me feel foolish...lol

If you have a spare axle bolt that you mount the wheel onto the RC. Put 2 screws in to keep front/back plate in place. Then tighten down the wheel nut onto the axle bolt and it will squeeze the plates together. Once fully tightened, you can then put in the other beadlock screws.
Talk about timing I just bought set of those for my C10. When putting 1/10 beadlocks together I use a dab of thread lock on the screws. Not necessary on these small wheels?

@@ptshyu2 oh yea that’s a pain in the ass but you’ll find a technique that works for ya. Honestly I found my own way that’s solid. Once you get the hex and rim together just put 2 screws in the wheel face on opposite sides, squeeze the 2 rims faces together with both hands, let go with 1 hand but hold them squeezed together with 2 fingers then run the 2 screws in a little to keep everything together . Swapped 4 tires in about 10 minutes yesterday 👌🏽
I’m in the market for a set of tires. I ripped one of my stock BFGoodrich tires. How well do those rock creepers work? I can’t go up in size, because I’ll get too much body rub..
Rusty’s RC Garage the rock creepers are probably my favorite tire out of all of them. I loved the wranglers and bought 2 sets of them at first. Now I’m slowly swapping everything to the rock creepers. At least for my indoor course they are by far the best. I haven’t did a ton of testing between tires anywhere else like the creek etc but on my course they are the best. The Patagonia’s do well on my Jeep and I like them for it just because they are slightly bigger and fit it how I like. The tsl boggers are real comparable to the creepers as well. I just got a set of them and don’t see much difference between them and the creepers yet. So imo the boggers or creepers are the best for that size tire. I hate the rock crushers and rok lox. I have zero use for them lol
Rusty’s RC Garage stock c10 tires measure 51mm and the rock creepers are about 49.35 so they are just a tad smaller than stock c10 tires. They work MUCH better than stock for sure lol. I’m hoping to do a tire comparison video soon. Just gotta find the time and I wanted to get a few runs on the boggers so I knew more about them as well!
Rusty’s RC Garage the rock creepers are wider than stock by a decent amount tho. They measure 19.5mm wide and the stock c10 tires are about 17.5mm wide. Hope this helps!
I am new to 1/24 scale rc crawlers, do i leave the foam in the tires and wheels with the stamped beadlocks like you have here, or do i toss the foam inserts because they just hold the shape of the wheels during shipping or something? And those beadlocks are fairly heavy, will i still need wheel weights? I just bought the scx24 c-10 in light green to get started with. I also bought a pair of brass steering knuckles, and the mud slinger tires, and the stamped beadlock wheels for my first upgrades. I also ordered a set of kinetic double barreled shocks (i had to order those online, the guy at the hobby store looked at me like i was stupid when i asked about the shocks. He was an older guy and never heard of them.)
Could the scx24 axles and trans be put on the xt1 or xt2? I'm not 100 percent, but I think I read that you can put 1.0 beadlocks and tire upgrades on it. Was just curious if the axles could be out on there
Not sure about the hot racing weights. I always run the fullsendrc weights in mine. They have some made for stock wheels and some for the stamped beadlocks. Check out fullsendrc.com if you want. That’s where I got them. They are awesome to deal with and very helpful if you have any questions.
FYI don’t mount it on ur axles, I’ve bent one rear axles by putting on the black hub on 1st, then the inner wheel and then the outer rim, by aligning the screw you push down too hard to mount the wheels to the hub, causing the axle to stress and bend. Dang wish I watch his video before attempting the install the stamped wheels lol thanks 🙏🏼 for video was really helpful.
Rc4wd should send 5wheels instead of 4 because this product is such a pain in the ass to install, you’re gonna get angry and end up throwing one into the woods behind your house. Mounting my dirtbike tire to my wheel was easier than these little tiny 1/24 wheels.

There is an easier method with just using paper clip...take a look at my video. There are 2 main issues that makes it challenging. #1 alignment of the holes. there are 2 distinct holes from across each other. You want to make use of those 2 holes. #2 hex adapter doesn't line up correctly and is tough to install. Although I also use markers to note the position, but in reality not needed. Also small dab of blue locktite on the screws should help them to stay put. Try the paper clip method and let me know what you think.
The stock tires & wheels are vented. The RC4WD wheels don’t come vented. So do you run them unvented or are you venting the tires after you mount them?
Gramps Ramblings I don’t normally vent them. I run the rear with no foam and leaving them unvented sort of gives them a little air inside that keeps them from just going flat. Seems to work pretty well for me.

Alright man, I’ve got 1 last question for you promise haha! I’ve just bought the rc4wd stamped wheels and I’m wondering what the inside diameter is? (I mean for the max diameter of weight I can run inside it.) I’ve watched ur vid explaining all the different wheels and weights but the full send rc stamped specific ones would be very expensive to ship to the uk and take ages haha. I’m thinking I might just grind some down but I would just like to find out the inside diameter of the stamped cheers mate!

I think a lot of it depends on the tires. Some seem really easy and some are just a bit more of a pain. The rok lox I have we’re the absolute worst out of any I’ve mounted. I don’t really like those tires anyway so once I pulled them I never mounted them again lol

I have seen someone use a paperclip bent into a U shape and put through 2 of the lug holes to keep everything lined up.

What size driver are you using for the screws on the wheels?
The stock tires & wheels are vented. The RC4WD wheels don’t come vented. So do you run them unvented or are you venting the tires after you mount them?
Gramps Ramblings I don’t normally vent them. I run the rear with no foam and leaving them unvented sort of gives them a little air inside that keeps them from just going flat. Seems to work pretty well for me.

Alright man, I’ve got 1 last question for you promise haha! I’ve just bought the rc4wd stamped wheels and I’m wondering what the inside diameter is? (I mean for the max diameter of weight I can run inside it.) I’ve watched ur vid explaining all the different wheels and weights but the full send rc stamped specific ones would be very expensive to ship to the uk and take ages haha. I’m thinking I might just grind some down but I would just like to find out the inside diameter of the stamped cheers mate!

I think a lot of it depends on the tires. Some seem really easy and some are just a bit more of a pain. The rok lox I have we’re the absolute worst out of any I’ve mounted. I don’t really like those tires anyway so once I pulled them I never mounted them again lol
These wheels suck! I just threw them out, they screws suck and everything scratches up easily. What do you want for 20 bucks!
