Do you not think Leinster's scrum half situation is a bigger problem? Granted they have one unreal scrum half but Connacht have 3 players better than any backup at Leinster. As soon as JGP is away with Ireland Leinster will struggle.
@@eughrologh so long as JGP is fit then we are ok for big games. Should be able to manage as the two young lads are coming on a bit. Massive problem for big games if JGP gone tho. The issue at 10 is that while everyone wants Frawley, he still needs time to show it's his place. Only truly his now as the rest just not performing. Not the same as him having set the world on fire. Also with Ireland, that bench position is as much to do with his 12/15 cover as his 10 qualities.
Mark, I placed a bet on the Lions about 2 weeks ago to win tourney outright. You were right, at the stage odds were 101 to 1 and after 2 games it's already down to 21. I'm a Stormer, but shit mate let's go Lions. Still plenty of lucky bounces of the ball required for them to get there, but seeing that you were my inside lane source of info and by virtue my applied vested agent, I will pay any success back forward to you with some special jerseys 🍻 Keep up the vibe, love the channel
That was humiliating for Edinburgh. Do the coaching staff look at how their opponents play? They looked like 15 individuals wearing the same clothes. The Lions played the way they ended last season and looked a good side. No faith in Edinburghs coaching staff.
I gave up my season ticket this year after last years performances and this year is worse. Chances of top8 already gone. Everitt and his team have to go and go now
Main difference between the Bulls and Ulster was the scrum. The Bulls had a pack loaded with Springboks. Five of Ulster's starting forwards had appearances in single figures, and Charlie Irvine in the second row is still in the academy. They absolutely marmalised us. Wasn't even a contest. We were decent at the breakdown for once, and Stockdale was on fantastic form, but an inexperienced Ulster side, without even our best inexperienced players as they're away with Emerging Ireland, against the Bulls at full strength at Loftus? Yeah, that's what happened. Nice to see James Humphreys get a run-out off the bench, and his pass for Carson's try was a peach.
@@mikezog1030 Aside from Elrigh Louw and Steenekamp, Wessels, Grobbelaar, Nortje and van Staden all played in the just-completed Rugby Championship, and Akker van der Merwe (2017-18) and Wilco Louw (2017-21) have caps as well. It's hard to believe Hanekom doesn't have a cap yet. And there's no doubt they completely outclassed our pack, especially in the scrum.
Tough for Cardiff but gunna be a tough season and we banked a bit at the start. Question is if we can sort it for next week and get back to a win. Gutted for dragons but they could have won it earlier. SA sides looked great this week. Thought Ulster did well considering
Not a great Leinster performance but it didn't really need to be. Leinster tend to play better against better teams and can be a bit lazy against teams they expect to beat. Also this is the first match back for a lot of those players due to IRFU resting protocols, they didn't even play pre-season games. I think the real reason they rolled out such a strong team was they have Munster in Croke Park next up. It will be interesting to see how many tickets they can sell for a regular season provincial game in an 80,00 seater stadium.
Leinster building a good lead at the top of the table despite not playing particularly well. We absolutely need to win the URC this year even if things don't go our way in Europe. A last minute loss against a Toulouse in a final is acceptable but not winning the league in 4 years is not.
WellI understand where you coming from mate, but im a bulls fan and we need to win this URC season, we cocked it up against Glasgow and the stormers in 2 finals, but this season its going to be tight, there isnt any easy games, even the welsh teams are turning it up so far, so I want the title too for my team,
@@TwoCentsRugby The 3D pitch saved the game otherwise it would have been called off. We had 24 hours of that straight. Left overs from Hurricane Hellena.
I watched the final 10-15 minutes of Dragons v Sharks, and if I were a Dragons supporter, I'd go MAD. Like really, really mad. They had been spoken to and warned about their infringements, but they still went and inflicted damage onto themselves. They were warned about early maul drives and about a minute or two later, they went ahead and drove early at a 5m lineout maul again. Either they were too stupid to listen to their captain, or he didn't say anything at all. They made it too easy for the Sharks. If they wanted that win badly, they would and should have kept their discipline in check.
Good roundup, and yes, the Stormers win was ugly, though they did win without some key actors (Kitshoff, Malherbe, Moerat, Fourie, Roos, Sacha and Manie), but there was enough quality for a really woeful Zebre at home. A little positive sidelight: Joseph Dweba seemed at least for this match to have conquered his lineout yips. If his accuracy continues like Saturday, he might get another shot at a green-and-gold jersey….though I’m not quite convinced yet.
Are you serious? Dweba's all-round contribution is poor. He dropped the ball three times in the first half alone. He's lucky to be starting for the Stormers because Andre-Hugo Venter is a much better hooker.
@@ethancroft5512 I literally was thinking almost exclusively on his improvement on lineout throws. I actually do agree with you that he’s really not quite ready for the Boks.
SA fans having a bit of rugby fatigue right now, they should maybe move the venues for the first few rounds to university grounds, to create a better atmosphere. I'm sure as we come closer to Christmas holidays, stadiums will start to fill up. Bulls vs lions in Currie Cup actually played at a high school ground and that was a really good atmosphere for the Currie cup
Thats actually a great idea. The money is mainly made from TV broadcasting rights, not tickets. So reducing ticket prices and shifting to a student ground would actually work well.
