- Bringing It Home - Feinstein's/ 54 Below - March 13, 2019
Nick Cartell can currently be seen across the country as Jean Valjean in the National Tour of Les Misérables, delivering a performance that reviews have called “nothing short of consummate” (Louis Hobson, Calgary Herald) and “outstanding in the pivotal role of Jean Valjean” (Amy Stempfl, The Tennessean). Now Nick is finally Bringing It Home to Broadway’s Living Room at Feinstein’s/54 Below. Mixing Broadway hits old and new, rock, pop, and even a little rat pack, it’s a feel-good evening of his favorites, and yours too. Having performed and produced on the Feinstein’s/54 Below stage, it’s Nick’s turn to step out in his very first solo show and bring his story to life. You won’t want to miss it.

Lyrics for AGONY ala Les Miz
J: Did I abuse him or show him disdain?
V: Yes.
J: Why does he run from me?
I grant his parole, take his chains let him go. This guy thinks he’s done with me.
AGONY over one loaf of bread.
I won’t say I’m obsessed, but I can’t get him out of my head.
V: Was long in a prison, mark of his derision, then finally free.
Yes, I broke parole, wrote myself a new role. Can you really blame me?
Who Am I?
AGONY far more painful than yours.
Power drunk on authority, cruel to students and whores.
Both: AGONY for Javert and Valjean.
J: He who has eluded
V: Monsieur, you’re deluded
Both: 24601
J: Am I not obstinate, stubborn, tenacious, fanatical, militant, scheming, steadfast, and unyielding?
And I am the law!
V: You’re everything wrong with inspectors
J: And I know…
V: Oh, GOD, no…
J: The law is not mocked.
V: Look, I know you’re relentless;
But now I’ve got this kid and she just met this guy, and then somehow you’re constantly singing of STARS!
Both: AGONY
J: Misery
Both: Well, it is Les Miserables
J: There’s a big barricade
V: Yeah, you leave and I stay
Both: Then I/he sing and they sob.
AGONY over one loaf of bread.
Spoiler - We both end the show dead.
Josh Davis is so amazing omg . I’m so glad I got to meet him in person
This was a religious experience
Could you add subtitles please? :') Or can someone transcribe the lyrics for me and other non-natives or hard of hearing people? It's quite hard to understand some parts with the audience so loud :'/
This is hilarious
