Both of the actors are gay, though? Thats what’s funny about the performance.
@@mistergrieves They weren't talking about the actors.they were talking about the character(s). This Gaston has both a male and female love interest, thus he is either bi or pan. so while the comedic effect comes from the to actors playing males dancing around each other with thinly veiled innuendoes, Gaston's sexuality is just a cool side effect of the actor's portrayal of the character.

Honestly, it's such a smooth transition, I was so happy when I heard it because I was hoping he'd do the octave jump. My mum is a musician and I showed her this (because she thinks Lefou and Gaston are gay too) and she was so legit impressed. I mean, she was cackling with laughter by the end of it as well but she was going on about how smooth it was and how he "didn't have to use head voice", etc, etc. lmaoo
