I have a great career as a doctor, but when I was 36, I decided to earn an entire BFA in musical theatre part-time over 6 years (8 semesters of voice lessons, 4 semesters of acting, 2 semesters of stage movement, a semester each of accents and stage combat, 4 semesters of jazz/tap, 2 semesters of ballet and 2 semesters of modern dance, etc.) ... all so I would be that guy who has a drink or two then literally drops jaws at karaoke or at weddings because I'm a professional caliber musician and performer.
@@jevonchan2297 If you are in the US and a non-traditional student (aka not straight out of high school or 4 years of military), I would highly recommend doing your first 60 credits at a community college. Get your foundational acting, dance, and voice stuff done before you try to transfer into a BFA program. MT programs are really selective when it comes to transfers because they balance their troupe. When I was interviewing, I was often competing for a single vacancy for a heroic tenor. Don't get too down if it takes multiple years too. Sometimes there's like 1 transfer opening per university and if you aren't what they're casting for, for example, a mezzo soprano character actor or a soprano ingenue, or a baritone chorus dancer, then you're often just out of luck that year no matter how talented you are.

I don't know, Meat Loaf, Karine Hannah, and others can make the Steinman songs seem short, as well. Besides Jeremy, my other favorite Broadway male Singer is Robert Evan. Robert was in various Frank Wildhorn musicals, like Jeremy was. Robert sometimes sang with Frank's ex-wife Linda Eder. Who along with Megan Hilty, are my favorite female Broadway singers. Robert was also one of the singers for the Dream Engine and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The Dream Engine covered Jim Steinman songs. Regardless, Jeremy kicks serious butt on this songs. It is also the funniest cover of a song that I have ever seen.
I love that he sings with such passion that you think he's at the top of his register and then he shifts JUST like that and it makes it all the more impressive. This dude will forever be one of the greats despite not having the hollywood-type fame.
As I wrote and produced the song for Celine--I'm very impressed and pleased with JEREMY'S ability to scale the Olympian operatic heights and imbue it with humor, seamlessly! All in all, BRILLIANT!! And thank you.
JIM STEINMAN Such an honor to hear from you, Mr. Steinman! Before performing the song we talked about how epic it was that the same brilliant mind that wrote "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" crafted this song for Celine. Thus, to respect the epic-ness, we opted to perform the complete album version of the song, instead of the radio edit. Thank you for the incredible music throughout the years, sir, and for your kind words!
And much thanks for doing the complete version! I'm very grateful for that! Plus it allowed Jeremy to fill the instrumental sequences with humor, without losing ANY of the intensity! And I KNOW how difficult that is! Beautifully played and arranged too!
JIM STEINMAN Your humility and modesty is incredible. Thank you for writing such incredible music - one of my strongest connections with my mother is through a shared adoration of your work.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that keeps coming back to this song. I lost my wife recently and the passionate parts of this song really get to me. The only time I've ever cried and then laughed listening to a single song. I think I've listened to it 20 times in the last 3 days. This guy is a real talent. I'm a big fan and am going to fly to wherever to see him.
+Oliwia Makuch Just look up Newsies OBC Santa Fe. He was on the original Broadway cast of Newsies in the lead role of Jack Kelly. The whole album is amazing.
I thought people were joking about how often they listened to this song but I don't think I've gone a full day without listening to this at least once since I found it
I mean I've listened to it at least 20 times - probably one of my most watched RUclips videos. That he's a little bit tipsy is probably one of the things that makes it so unique - he's not so controlled, shows emotions, makes jokes - just by watching its impossible not to feel something or have flashbacks of your own life. It's not about being technically perfect singing - but feeling like your watching someone doing karaoke, being a little bit embarrassing, but then totally surprising you.
LastDamage He’s probably one of the most famous Broadway actors of today’s generation, yet if you say his name to the average non-musical or non-supergirl fan, the name doesn’t ring a single bell lol

If you claim not to rewind to 5:13 just to listen to that magnificent key change again, you're a big dirty liar.
Guilty!!
guilty as charged! I've also gone back to the 4-min mark for his "3 minutes left" comment! 😉
Ohohohohooohoho
Baby! Baby!
The big smile he gets when singing “it’s all coming back to me” is literally giving me life! Like he’s having the best flashback memory of the love of his life. Very well performed
I was about to comment about that. I love seeing him relive memories thru his smile
There is nothing more attractive than seeing somebody in their element. Vocally he killed it, interpretation fabulous and he’s funny! Ok.. Just fell in looove!! 🤣
*There is nothing more than seeing an already attractive man slayin a song
this is the voice i have inside of me. Unfortunately, the voice that comes out is nothing like it.
roger rabbit I want his voice inside of me if you know what I mean. Heeeyyy yo
roger rabbit right lol
roger rabbit same here 🤣🤣
I feel you, man
Right? I belt this song out and I think I sound just like this in a girl voice.
I’ve literally never had a boyfriend but Jeremy singing this makes me remember a relationship I’ve never had 🙃
IKR
You are crazy ❤️❤️❤️😜😍🥰🥰
Spent my teens listning to this song for that exact reason 😂
Im pretty sure that’s yearning buddy
Amazing how in a millisecond he can go from touching and emotional to comedic, all with impeccable powerful unvarying vocals.
Ronald Lozoff my heart goes out to you Ronald. ❤️
Awwww❤❤❤❤❤
He's in Waitress on Broadway right now, and he is amazing. I saw his 3rd performance
So sorry Ronald .
❤️may she rest in peace
Every time I see 4:46, I feel like I'm making direct eye contact with him, and I can't help but reciprocate that smile...that damned smile...
Yessssss
Lol, a quote straight outta 13 Reasons Why.
100 % my favourite part.
That smile makes me moister than an oyster.
Ditto
Jeremy Jordan has literally ruined this song for me now. Every time I hear someone else sing it, I’m expecting that key change 😩😂
try to watch SARAH GERONIMO " It's all coming back to me" it has heart baby
@@elliiiiiii11 sad. This guy's range is twice as Sarah's, and again he's a guy. 😂
Lauren Blakemore yes!!
@@damned2058 I know people will come at me for this (especially because I'm Filipino), but yes, Jeremy Jordan's range is twice of Sarah's.
El Sumande sarah cannot compete with this guy and again he is a guy
His voice control is amazing. I dont think non singers realize how much it takes out of you to sing at that power vocal level. It really winds you.
I need a studio version of this.
Joshua Bassig YES. PLEASE.
The thing I love about JerJor is that he somehow knows exactly how much power he wields over the audience and he wields it with an iron fist. 😂
He has full permission to bend us, his audience, like putty.
This guy’s got some pipes...and a great sense of humor.
Happy aniversary to this beautiful song and thanks to Jeremy for delivering such a beautiful cover 👏🏼❤
back for my weekly pilgrimage to this religious site
when ppl are like "omg i didn't expect that from him!!" and i'm just like "listen to santa fe."
Amen!!
+rainingsunshine link someone?
+Oliwia Makuch Just look up Newsies OBC Santa Fe. He was on the original Broadway cast of Newsies in the lead role of Jack Kelly. The whole album is amazing.
Thanks :)
+Monica Nguyen the only reason I know who he is is because of Newsies lol
fella at 6:41 had no idea he was gonna turn gay when he went into work that day.
This needs to be top comment
TheBeaBop lol probably
everytime i watch this video this comment makes me laugh hhh
Yk what!?
It's funny cause it’s true
When you have that voice and the talent of acting the result is this. Amazing.
How to fall in love in 7 minutes
Starts cheering at 4:15
Na, 10 seconds 😍
I thought people were joking about how often they listened to this song but I don't think I've gone a full day without listening to this at least once since I found it
I mean I've listened to it at least 20 times - probably one of my most watched RUclips videos.
That he's a little bit tipsy is probably one of the things that makes it so unique - he's not so controlled, shows emotions, makes jokes - just by watching its impossible not to feel something or have flashbacks of your own life. It's not about being technically perfect singing - but feeling like your watching someone doing karaoke, being a little bit embarrassing, but then totally surprising you.
This young man has one of the best voices on Broadway or elsewhere.
So true.🎉
Petition for this version to go viral on TikTok
What’s the problem with the world that this guy is not super famous?!
He’s got the whole package and more!
LastDamage He’s probably one of the most famous Broadway actors of today’s generation, yet if you say his name to the average non-musical or non-supergirl fan, the name doesn’t ring a single bell lol
LastDamage he’s VERY popular on Broadway and in musical theatre! And he was in Supergirl, but that’s beside the point. I love him so much!!
He was once famous as a popstar of the early 90's.
@@deedee-wg7ug Nope, that was a different Jeremy Jordan. That one was blond and looked completely different.
@@misspriss2482 ah okay. 🤣🤣🤣
His wife is LUCKYYYYY!!!!
LagiNaLangAko23 Why not?

@LagiNaLangAko23 HE'S STRAIGHT. LOL. HIS WIFE IS ALSO AN AMAZING BROADWAY SINGER.
@LagiNaLangAko23 his wife's name is Ashley Spenser
Id like to offer myself as tribute to try converting him.......
Not only is this guy an incredible singer, he is fucking hilarious! I love him already!
+GothMermaidGamer I'm so incredibly jelly of his wife ㅠㅠ
+GothMermaidGamer He is also a cute hottie.
Wow he has such a beautiful voice!😢❤❤😮😊
You can not deny his talent. This must have been amazing to witness live
Anything he does live is amazing and renders me speechless
They need to do musical episodes on super girl, with Jeremy as the lead. It's like hiding a Ferrari in the garage.
They did, but he wasn't the lead.
I love you and I love that reference.
Watch duet it's a the flash episode but it's a crossover he's in it and sings but unfortunately not much
@@lauradebnam3114 great im on it.
He is one of the leads in SMASH season 2 though
Petition for Jeremy Jordan to sing every song ever
If I could sing like that I would literally never shut tf up, no amount of money could close my mouth
