Ok, this. is. AWESOME. I am an experienced, trained perfectionist vocalist. That has no bearing whatsoever in how much I absolutely LOVE this. Because these people, the bride and groom's circle, had to have worked their tails off to put this together. Singing this song as a trained vocal performer with other trained vocal performers would require a lot of work. These individuals (who, let me just clarify, weren't nails on a chalkboard awful or anything) probably had to work that much harder to make sure they each had their part down and then they had to coordinate schedules, drive to a decided location which might have been further for some than others, and put the time in to practicing as a group to get the vocals, and then also choreograph it...all because they loved these two people. There isn't ANYTHING about this video that I do not adore.
rjphonda lol thank you. That’s really nice of you to say. But the truth is the bride’s dad didn’t tell the group about it until a few days before the wedding because he wanted to keep the whole thing a surprise. (He has too much faith in us. Hah.) So we all got together and ran through it two or three times during the cocktail hour in a bunch of bushes outside the reception hall. The whole thing brings each of us-and most importantly the bride and groom-a lot of laughter! Just like when we were all doing musical theatre together in high school. We know it’s not great, but it was fun for all of us who were there. Signed, a cringeworthy Enjolras 😂😉 (Thanks again for trying to redeem us!! Hahah)
You can tell they sound nervous to be singing like that, and it just shows how much they love their friends! I can't imagine trying to sing an ensemble piece in front of all of my two friends' entire families! Wow! Pressure! Having professionals sing to you is different than having friends sing their hearts out just for you. This couple is truly blessed.
To all the haters: Les Mis is just a really hard musical piece to do, especially One Day More. And these are (probably) untrained people. This is incredibly well done. I would cry aswell dangit
We did it in school and we had a really really really good teacher. For some random people to attempt this for their friends, with or without voices to, is very impressive.
This is beautiful. Done a ton of professional and community theater and theater actors literally become family. I remember before my last show with a theater group I was leaving because I took a job and was moving I bawled like a baby and was embraced by the entire cast.
People that say they cant sing, and that they shouldnt do it, and bla bla bla.. For god sake just shut up! The friends and family are doing it to show their love and support for the bride... Thats all that matters..
If all your best friends performed any song for you together as a group, you would love it, no matter how amazing or terrible it was. It just so happened to be pretty damn good.
Everyone stop saying this is “cringe”. I think this was a cute surprise for the bride and these people are her family and friends which makes the experience 100% more enjoyable for her
Once I went to see the Brazilian production of the musical. Greatest day of my life. When it was over, everyone was crying - it was the last day of that season, and odds were the musical isn't coming back for good ten years. Our Javert, a.k.a. the sweetest guy ever, suddenly announced the winners of a certain promotion no one seemed to know about. Right in front of us, came a young couple. After a five-minute long speech (which the lady just watched in confusion), that sweet boy kneeled down and proposed to her. In front of the whole theater! That was sincerely one of the bravest guys I've ever seen. It was an amazing day.
For all the People who are hating here: There no professionals it's just a cute Gesture from their friends and family . I personally would wish that that would happen at my wedding even if it weren't that good I would love the gesture
Well normally I have a heart of stone but I am crying whilst watching this. To have friends and family do this for someone would mean the world to me. A very very lucky couple.
What a lovely idea. I assume they were friends and family, and not professionals. I think they did well, but the one singing Eponine’s part was a stand out.
They appear to professionals in training. The description of the video mentions that they are all "theater" friends of the bride. What does mean? I'm guessing that the Theater friends are all taking classes or doing some sort of study/training to one day work in the theater.
May, 2020 ..........I'm an over 60 year old man, And I cried the way through this. How beautiful, how talented, and what an amazing tribute to the Bride, that the Groom would make this event happen... FOR HER !! .......Such a Talented bunch of Performers, THAT took time to bring together !!
I think they did an AWESOME JOB!! I saw Les Miserable in London in 1985. They really captured the spirit and the heart and the beauty of it perfectly!!
Same year I saw it. Dragged my wife to London from Switzerland and we went to 3 shows in one week, Cats, Mis and Starlight Express. My mother was from Liverpool but grew up in London.
Absolutely unbelievable! What an unforgettable moment for that couple! I think this was the most unbelievable thing ever. The reception itself looked so spectacular itself in that very elegant room, with the chandeliers & beautiful flower arrangements “alone”, never mind having that extraordinary group coming into sing! Wow! I so loved this!
I second that! I would absolutely love it if my wedding would go like this! Unfortunately, I don't think I have enough family members who would actually do it. Party poopers!
Sure, they messed up the lyrics a bit and they aren't the best singers, but this is such a sweet thing to do. I would love for something like this to happen at my wedding and it's clear to see that the bride and groom are enjoying themselves.
This is absolutely wonderfull, your weddingreception, your friends and family know your the biggest Les Miserables fan in their circle of friends. They gather to practice this incredible dufficult piece to sing, practice in their spare-time, so many lovely people, trained singers and amateurs, I mean, comon, how can one not like this. They pulled it off rather well, it came across very well and everybody felt the love. What better wedding gift can you get from your friends?
I too had a wedding for my daughter last year and totally loved this video. Nothing but love and joy for the wonder of music to unite people and Andrew Llyod Webber. Good job Dad and congrats to the bride & groom!!!
I'm with you johnthomas! Imagine it happening at one's wedding!! I love musicals but always have a soft spot for Les Mis [If only I could sing without sounding like a cat someone sat on, I could be understudy for every single character as I know it off by heart!} and Claude-Michel Schonberg was responsible for this wonderful musical🎵👏
Love all of it. This is prob a GREAT dad! Beautiful speech, great idea, he cares a lot bout his daughter. At 2:58, 3:47 e 3:54 he is in a mix of supervising, cheering, singing and loving it all
This is actually very well done. The beginning with the soloio was particularly strong. They messed up a little bit at the end, but this song is very challenging especially that part. The best part is the bride’s reaction. She seemed genuinely surprised and happy. That’s the most important thing.
that brought a tear to my eye...and, I'll give the couple this blessing...may you always have "One Day More" together.... God bless you both, and your wonderful friends.....

Damn, the bride's father is a good showman.

SRS
Why do you have to be so toxic it’s clearly not staged
@@andrewcox6042 i mean, eh, technically the truth, you have to stage this entire thing before, not like people can just break into musical.
@@lsarenkir it literally is staged going by that definition
The bride’s reaction when the music started is EVERYTHING!!!!

Iris Bosch I did Les Misrebles as a school show 😂🙄
Iris Bosch yeah I cried while singing to it just because I miss my man. I'm gay.

Yeah, not good voices, ugh
What a fantastic lead in by the Dad. What memories they will have to last a lifetime.
The utter joy the Bride and Groom are experiencing reflected in their expressions makes this the most brilliant production.
How touching it is to have all the friends and family serenade the newly weds. Well done!

aleksandrasteff exactly. They're not professionals, so it's actually remarkably good.
it a cringe cuz the singers are perfect but its nice there were two parts that i didn't like
