    Hi guys! Just got my Copper yesterday. Great stuff, but you’d really mention or warn that the power section emulation comes disabled by default in all presets and you have to turn it on in the Two Notes app… when I first tried it just plugging the guitar and headphones just got a heart attack of how awful the tone was… thanks god I noted the above :-D

    These are fabulous amps and show just how far thinking Victory are. I've had a Duchess V40 for seven years and it's been great for gigging and rehearsing, and even though you can lower the output for home recording and practice I can see how one these new amps will be far more practical for silent or very low volume practicing and, importantly, recording especially with the two notes functionality.
    There's two questions for me: 1. Why no headphone out? 2. How reliable are Class D power amps? However, given the thought that Martin and his team put into their amps I'm sure there's a 100% genuine reason for this!
    I'm selling one of my other very good quality (won't name names as it's a very good amp) to buy one of these new Victory amps asap.

    • @VictoryAmps
      @VictoryAmps  2 года назад

      Hi Tee, to answer your question, there are headphone outs on all the V4 amps in the range now. Just double check as the older V4 Duchess and V4 Kraken amps don't have them. In terms of Class D being reliable we extensively test each unit before it leaves the factory and during our R and D we rigorously test each part of our designs to make sure they are as reliable as possible. Thanks Victory

      I held off on buying the Kraken for a really long time due to lack of a clean channel, and I've regretted it since I got one. It's an incredibly flexible amp minus the lack of reverb and spanky clean channel. As long as you have a reverb and no need for super clean cleans, you'll be all good.

    I have a V4 Copper at home right now. Running it through a 1x12 cab there is quite some noise and hiss without adding gain. It’s seems like it’s preamp noise. Also the FX Loop seems to pick up noise easily. Is this normal for this amp? Coming from a BliGuitar Amp1 I’m not used to this kind of noise level.

  • @FakeGlasses
    @FakeGlasses 2 года назад

    I think this is a really interesting/promising format. I’d be drawn to the duchess normally but due diligence I’m curious does the Jack not have an all valve/tube preamp? What is the difference hardware wise between the two, or is it just voicing and the channels? Also what’s the difference between a V4 duchess and V40 or v100? Are the latter fully tube based?
    Thanks

    • @VictoryAmps
      @VictoryAmps  2 года назад +2

      All the V4 amps have the same preamp valves, there is just different voicings and channel selection options for the different amps. The Jack has two channels and Duchess is single channel with a Tremolo. The V4 has 180 watt Class D power section, the V40 is a tube power amp design and is 40 Watts, the V140 is the same but 100 watts. Thanks

    Got a question about these.
    I'm thinking of getting one, but am torn between two models - the Sheriff and the Copper. Could I buy one of these, and also get the V4 preamp pedal of the other, and use the same 4-cable method to get the tones I'd otherwise be missing?
    For example, buying the Sheriff model, then hooking up the Copper preamp pedal for those tones? I'm assuming the solid state power section on all these is the same...

      @VictoryAmps  2 года назад

      The signal out of the speaker output has no cab sims on the output, with your cabinet, it depends on the impedance and the power rating of the cabinet. The V4 amps power is 180 watts into 4 ohms, approx 95 Watts into 8 Ohms and approx 45 watts into 16 Ohms Thanks Victory Amps

    So what happens if I run it into a Victory V112V 1 x 12" Cabinet? Will it be okay as long as I don't turn it up full, or will I blow the speaker anyway? Seems like a bit of an oversight to have this super portable amp that needs a huge speaker cabinet to run safely. Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to be overly critical. I already have a Victory Countess, but none of the reviews I have watched on these go into any detail on speaker cabinet requirements.

    • @VictoryAmps

      That should be fine as the V112 V Cabinet has a power handling of 60 Watts and it would be run at 16 Ohms. If the cab you had was 8Ohm then you would need speakers with a higher power rating. Thanks Victory Amps

    On this particular video, I thought the IRs actually sounded better than the miked cab recording as they seemed a bit dark, like they were lacking presence (not sure if they were edge miked or if there was EQ applied in post). The Andertons recordings seemed quite bright (too bright for my taste). Rabea's demo has been the most flattering of the demos I've watched so far when it comes to miked cab sounds.
    Am I correct in thinking the vintage channel of the Sheriff has more clean headroom than the V4 preamp version did? I remember that it seemed to break up around 9 o'clock on most of the demos I saw, which didn't seem very much like a vintage Marshall to me. There is a headphone out on the V4 range, also due to the power section being solid state you can have these at quite low volume. Thanks Victory

    Too much widdling for me to get past 4 minutes.
    A shame, as I'm interested in the amplifier(s).
