You men are really special. This was a giant fundraiser for starving refugees in Africa in 1985. the tape was broadcast all over the world by Satellite in 1985. All USA singers popular at the time and a few actors in the choir as well. My personal experience since then as a 67 year old, is the world has gone to hell since then. And your song and message is very correct, we need to work together
The world hasn't gone to hell since 1985...lol. Things are better in so many ways now versus then, while a few are the same or worse. It's not 536 or 1883, which really were bad years. It's not any time between September 1939 and August 1945, when the whole world was headed to hell in a hand basket. Most people have no clue just how close the world came to being an actual hellscape in 1983, either. So, cheer up. It could always be worse 🙂🙂.

Greetings from Portugal dear friends. Thank you for the lesson of caring you are giving us. We may have different cultures, languages, traditions but we are all human beings who share feelings, dreams, pain.
They might be interested to know the singers are all top singers from the USA. Micheal Jackson, Janet Jackson, Dionne Warwick, Kenny Rogers, Paul Simon, Kenny Rogers, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Kim Carnes, Tina Turner, Lionel Richie, Ray Charles, Diana Ross, Cindy Lauper, Willie Nelson, Stearns and Foster, Bob Dylan, Dianna Ross, that guy from Wham!, and many others. All pretty much top-notch talents. The idea was to have the money from selling this song to go to helping out people in Africa. They collected about $150 million in today's dollars. Not too shabby! On the other hand, about 200 times as much as that is spent every year on pizzas.
Everybody watching this video around the world mohht not recognize all singers, even though they feel the emotions, but everybody recognize Michael... It's incrédible how famous Mochael was all ober the planet.. ❤
That song is a real heart gripper! I literally cry if I hear it. I think the parts of Michael, followed then y Diana, are very poignant. And Bruce Springsteen's parts; Cyndi Lauper was super feeling it, and then of course-- Stevie's parts are very special. Then at the end it's Mr Ray Charles!!
This was my first time sitting in with you gentlemen, thank you for allowing me to do that. I really enjoyed when you started singing with them. I hope you can read English so you will know that I subscribed and gave you a big like while I was here today! GREAT reaction guys!
I was in Mali when the grain arrived on the docks in Senegal. We all watched, horrified. Because no distribution had been arranged and it sat for months, rodents got in, left feces, and a year or two later the ultimate consumer hundreds of miles away, got sick.
