- On May 8, 2022 around 10:45 p.m., Crystal Lake, Illinois police were on-scene responding to a report of an assault and battery in the area of Route 31. The suspect had allegedly attacked her friend, spitting in her face and hitting her on the head with a cell phone. As officers approached the vehicle that contained the suspect and the complainant, the suspect hopped out of the backseat, yelling and claiming that the driver was drunk. The officers tried to put handcuffs on her and the suspect immediately became physically combative, insisting that she didn’t do anything wrong. She kicked and pushed the officers as they were trying to get her into the patrol car, but they were finally able to get her in and transport her to the police station. There, she continued to be belligerent, loud and uncooperative throughout the entirety of processing - even flipping an officer the bird when asked for her name. She was charged with one count of resisting an officer, one count of battery, and two counts of resisting an officer causing injury - a felony. Her bail was set at $31,000.

It's harder than you think to arrest and place a suspect in a vehicle without injuring them. It can be done in a few secs... But then people would cry about police brutality.

So the cop detains and assaults her before any investigations? Legally he assaulted her to begin the events. It's 100% legal to defend yourself against assault and/or unlawful arrest. This cop would be eaten alive in court. They really need to start training officers before letting them go out on their own and cost the tax payers money and the citizens safety. The first 3 minutes alone would have her charges dropped. I think good cops are becoming extinct but the bad ones sure pay my bills. The narrator has no clue of basic law. This is a perfect example of 1930's Germany policing.
