    His style of instruction is actually super clear, I wish the trainers around here were as good at their job. The trainers I've worked with are either really monotonous or total pompous douches. I would love to see more of Thiago on your channel!

    Pure Gold - always good to review fundamentals and little details.
    Btw Shane, take off the wedding ring when training - you don't wanna get the finger ripped off during a move ;)

    Really nice, clear and compact explanations! No bragging or excess technical terminology, but basic and concise information, slowly explained for beginners like myself. 👍🏻 Now I only need to practice this like a million times or so, in order to get proficient! 🤣 Too bad I live on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, otherwise I'd sign up for his training in a heartbeat!

    The #10 is totally me, most of the time.
    I feel like I roll very passivelly, like I do not know how to attack in almost any position. And when I try something, my susccess rate is extremely extremely low! So I come back or get passed... and return to just roll with wharever comes to me... :/
    PS.: I'm not a total begginer... have almost 2 years of training and currently I'm on 2 degrees white belt. But I'm still not foundind the right mindset to advance... Always feels not liking to roll... like I never progress and don't know what to do or manage to succeed whatever I try.
    And I'm not new in martial arts, I have a black belt in taekwondo... So sometimes makes me feel like I lost my martial spirit... :(
    But very thanks for the tips, really appreciate ;)

    very interesting stuff, im keen on going to my first bjj lesson soon. here is a tip for long instructional Videos: maybe you could include a short written summary in the Video, after every 5 minutes, with the key Information given from thiago/the instructor. this way we can memorize the stuff taught in the Video better :) appreciate your work! and the bjj Feature as well...

    I used "Actives Toes" my first day and injured my big toes. The joint that connects my big toe to my feet has been in pain for the last six months thanks to you guys.
    My suggestion is don't use "Active Toes" until they are flexible toes FIRST. Otherwise you sprain them and will be injured for an extensive amount of time! I don't even know when my toes are going to heal (might have to do with me continuing to train).

    • @Pwanx0w
      @Pwanx0w 5 лет назад

      That point seemed weird to me too! When i started i used active toes too but my instructor immediately told me not to do that, so my feets are flat on the mat since then

    • @augustoloa4315

      I just used active toes in the final of my blue belt

    • @guest0046
      @guest0046 5 лет назад

      Lmaaooooo... dont worry dude. Your toe will hurt for a year or so, then you will feel some pain for a other year or so.
      Same goes for the thumbs
      Anyways, active toes is important.
      You probably is a bit clumsy :p

    I actually switch between active feet and dead feet.
    Yeah I am a white belt and I don't know what I am doing, but they won't know what they're doing either when they can't figure out what my feet are doing.
    Confuse the enemy...
    (And my ankles are flexible)

      The people in the Gym call them dead and live toes
      Most of the time use live toes but the are some cases where dead toes are better e.g. mount Position

    Hello shane, how are you? I m from Argentina (my english is not good..i try) and i want you to do a question, I practise jiu jitsu bras, and i have a problem in my neck (protrusion en el cuello.."bad in my vertebra") What do you do in that case? you will continue to practise bjj? stop and enforce your neck? or both? or quit bjj? your opinion is important for my, thanks a lot and your videos are very good ! Gran abrazo ! Lucas.
