@@That-KidDoYes, it’s a big point of criticism with NRS games. There are quite a few kameos that counter projectiles though. Best looking and arguably best playing MK yet! It's a really good fighting game. I wasn't sure for the first 2 hours, but the more I played, the more I loved it!
I can’t think of a single instance where only one or two characters have an airdash and they aren’t top tier. I’ll be watching to see where Nitara ends up.
As someone who mained Ninja Shang in MK11, I'm not terribly thrilled by his moveset in mk1 but tbf it's on theme for him. Smoke on the other hand, fits me like a glove
The effort this video must’ve taken is crazy , got me wanting to try every character , came for the Johnny cage portion of the video stayed for the enjoyment
Man this roster is so much more interesting than MK11’s. I loved 11 (my first fighting game) but there were so many characters I just didn’t care about (Frost, Kollector, Cetrion, Skarlet, Cassie, Jacqui, Sonya to name a bunch). Just about every character in MK1 intrigues me in some way, even if I will ultimately only play maybe half a dozen of them with any regularity.
Rooflemonger, just wanted to let you know watching one of these choose your main videos that you make when a new fighting game drops is literally one of my favorite moments when playing a new Fg. Just thought maybe you would think it’s cool to be responsible for that, I actually wait eagerly for these vids and have been checking every couple hours lol

I’ve been trying to learn Kenshi but his two stances confuse the hell out of me especially during combos 😂 might have to turn to a different character because of that. Im an incredibly slow learner when it comes to fighting games, my brain cant keep up with all the motion inputs.
I tried MK9, 10 and 11 and I think I've concluded that MK just isn't for me. However, I have to admit there are some really interesting character designs in this game. Looking forward to watching some tournaments.
I just want to learn to play Johnny Cage. My dad used to play him in Mortal Kombat 9 before he got paralyzed, then he stopped socializing for the most part and I didn't get to know him very well. I recently learned my Dad is dying and I want to pick up his old Main in remembrance of him.
Anyone else noticeJade's not in the game? She would be a good kameo to counter projectiles. Just thought it was odd not to have her in the game some how.
Youve done a phenomenal job on this video in explaining all characters. After hearing and seeing gerus gameplay with them sands of time he reminds me of prince of Persia. Great video. Liked, obviously commented and subscribed. Loved how you explained everything. Keep it up. Many blessings and praise the lord and creator
I've been so hyped for this game, I've been having a hard time choosing my main but thanks to this video I narrowed it down to a few, thank you for your hard work!

For what it's worth: I played a LOT of MK 11, so I'm a little burnt out and I'm going to skip MK1 (or at least pick it up WAY down the line) and yet: these videos are so good that I'm *still* going to watch the whole thing, just for fun. Keep up the good work. (Can't wait for the T8 one!)

I can’t think of a single instance where only one or two characters have an airdash and they aren’t top tier. I’ll be watching to see where Nitara ends up.
Rain looks like he is holding the same staff as what skeletor uses in Masters Of The Universe film.
As someone who mained Ninja Shang in MK11, I'm not terribly thrilled by his moveset in mk1 but tbf it's on theme for him.
Smoke on the other hand, fits me like a glove
I subbed. Skipped several chapters, liked, went back. Now I'm letting it play on full with ads. Because you rock.
Love these guides! Thanks for putting in the hard work.
If MK11 is any indication: I’ll probably fight Scorpion and Sub zero online 99% of the time 😂
Nope lol lots of Smoke and Raiden
The effort this video must’ve taken is crazy , got me wanting to try every character , came for the Johnny cage portion of the video stayed for the enjoyment
Man this roster is so much more interesting than MK11’s. I loved 11 (my first fighting game) but there were so many characters I just didn’t care about (Frost, Kollector, Cetrion, Skarlet, Cassie, Jacqui, Sonya to name a bunch). Just about every character in MK1 intrigues me in some way, even if I will ultimately only play maybe half a dozen of them with any regularity.
Scarlet was absolutely amazing in mk11 the rest I agree
What a brilliant reimagining of Reptile
We appreciate all your hard work!
It's so amazing that you learned all of this so quickly. Nice work.
Your content is so top notch, I dont even plan to play all the games but always catch your character introductions. TY.
I constantly go back to this video just to pick up new characters. My scorpion sucked …. Now he doesn’t.
make sure to check out the IGN scorpion guide too! I actually did IGN's guide for them
I just found your channel and I really like your stuff because you have a very affirming voice and way of speaking that feels like I'm learning Mortal Kombat by watching a presenter on Sesame Street
Thank you so much as always man, for your time and dedication 💜 I and the rest of us appreciate it (and you) more than we know how to tell ya!!
Thank you for this. After doing the tutorials yesterday I was kinda stumped looking at the roster. Really makes you appreciate the character guides in Sf6
I’ve been trying to learn Kenshi but his two stances confuse the hell out of me especially during combos 😂 might have to turn to a different character because of that. Im an incredibly slow learner when it comes to fighting games, my brain cant keep up with all the motion inputs.
As an Mk beginner i couldnt ask for a better video to understand what everyone does. You're q godsend, i sub, congrats 👏
I tried MK9, 10 and 11 and I think I've concluded that MK just isn't for me. However, I have to admit there are some really interesting character designs in this game. Looking forward to watching some tournaments.
Do you play other fighting games? I've always liked Tekken and mk, but could never bring myself to enjoy street fighter(so far)
I am so excited that you're excited for MK1
Youve done a phenomenal job on this video in explaining all characters. After hearing and seeing gerus gameplay with them sands of time he reminds me of prince of Persia. Great video. Liked, obviously commented and subscribed. Loved how you explained everything. Keep it up. Many blessings and praise the lord and creator
This is incredible. Every character looks so fun. Idk who I'm gonna play
I like how fleshy Baraka's blades look. Looks more like something a disease caused instead of just armblades.
I've been so hyped for this game, I've been having a hard time choosing my main but thanks to this video I narrowed it down to a few, thank you for your hard work!
Kollector was my main in Mk11. Im interested in trying Reptile and Liu Kang in this one, my offense is my defense ever since Virgil in MVC3
This is the first fighter game ive ever played and so far its great, i like ashrah , lei mei and kitana are my favourites so far 👍
I thought I wouldn't like Shao as a general and not Emperor, boy was I wrong. I love this iteration of him. The horns are bad ass. Forever my favorite character, tied with Sindel, and they did both so right in this game.
the absolute speed with which you drop banger content like this
Dude! How are you not at 1M subs is mind boggling. You have some of the most detailed, comprehensive guides on RUclips. Thanks for putting in a lot work to give us more insight into MK1. I like the speed and variation of Reptile and Geras is a much better character than he was in MK11. Thanks again
Ashrah's f2 isn't just a singleton poke, it's special cancellable, so you can get a lot of reward from buffering certain specials behind it.
Also - if Ashrah has a dark stack on her opponent and she uses a certain string of hers (I forget which one), it launched the opponent instead of just giving a pop up.
Tanya & Ashrah! Great video! Thanks! MK1 hasn’t completely lost me yet.. not yet…
Great overview, thanks for always having top tier content Roofle
it's incredible the effort you put into these to get them out as fast as possible, it's great!
