Yeah, The Glen is just unmatched. I'm surprised nobody has modded that extra cue ball into an 8 ball for immersion purposes yet.
Now that would be a miniscule but nonetheless very welcome mod!
@@SamBram honestly, I'd do it myself but I have absolutely no clue how to mod. Lol. Hopefully somebody who does sees this and agrees it's worth the time.
@@gotsteeze92 same but I'm barely capable of installing over 50+ mods in Skyrim without unplayable crashes. I've read guides on tweaking mods so they handle well together and couldn't even manage that...
If anyone knows how to mod, please, adjust the ball colour from white to black
Yep. Glen all day. Right down the street from Mama Welles and The Coyote. Give me a multiplayer and I'll be in Heywood all the time hermanos y hermanas. Nevermind- billiard table.
@@coyoboyo The Glen is nice, but it is in the wrong spot. I cleared out the area of quest before I could afford the place. Since there was no reason to go back, I never considered buying the place. The Glen apt. should have been the corpo apartment.
The corpo apartment is actually the perfect representation of that life. On paper and from the outside it seems like the best but once you have it you see for yourself it's not that good.
The DLC better have more places you can buy. I'm still wanting that mansion in North Oak.
You mean the one we can't visit? I'm just hoping it is actually rolled into the dlc, and isn't actually remnants of some scrapped house building customisation content similar to Hearthfire or the vault one from Fallout 4
fr, i downloaded that one mod that allows you to buy the mansion from Path to Glory just to scratch that mansion itch for my corpo character
It would probably be a rundown apartment in Pacifica similar to Johnny's. If not Johnny's.
I actually kinda dig the corpo place. It's not too open like the Glen, neat & cozy
Yea that’s how I interpreted it, Corpo life is a glorified coffin. Contrast with the glen which is pretty much the real luxury apartment, close to Jackie which might hint at the relationships you make being the real treasure here. That might be a stretch, but the Corpo thing is definitely what they were going for.
The thing about Vs Apartment (and the Aldecaldo Camp) is that it is just plain efficient. Fast Travel and Drop Point right outside the door. The Aldecaldo Camp has a Ripperdoc and a Weapon vendor.
Very good point, and tbh when dropping off stuff I do just fast travel to V's apartment for this very reason... 👀
Same with corpo plaza
@@SamBram Can't you just summon a bike/car to pop them in the trunk?
i honestly forget that the fast travel system exists in this game cuz I enjoy driving from place to place so much
And you wake up to see Panam besides you
Just a note. While our original apartment is the same layout as the one David Martinez lived in at the beginning of Edgerunners. V's final apartment (penthouse), 4th on your list, is the same layout as the one Lucy and David live in together later in Egderunners series.
Great now I cannot go for that ending unless I want to cry for 3 days... again.
@@dr.vikyll7466 just reading this comment made me tear up a little man fuck edgerunners.
Right I was emotionally broke for a couple weeks myself
ok good so I'm not crazy for immediately recognizing #4. shame you only get it for a short time but I wouldn't want to be there long anyway cause I'd by cryin
@GeneralLazo I was crying at that point anyway. Judy leaves you at that point if you were with her. And V basically sets off on a suicide mission. And Johnny is gone. It's a pretty sad ending even without the edgerunners parallel.
One thing you forgot about V's starting apartment is Nibbles the Cat and iguana. I know for some people that alone pushes it much much higher in the ranking.
Like Heinlein wrote, "a house isn't a home without a cat".
Yes, it's for that reason that I don't bother with the other apartments (when they came out initially, I bought them all, but on subsequent playthroughs I'd rather stay in 10 with my pets).
I agree. Although the other ones are fancier, I just can't pass up the familiarity of the OG apartment-- Nibbles, the iguana, Johnny playing guitar for you, the memories of the end of act I/start of act II, Scorpion's figurine, Judy's diving gear, Kerry's vinyl. It's like a shrine to all of V's friends and memories.
Wait, you can get the iguana and Johnny to play guitar in the H10 apartment?
@@Frogben Yeah-- during the Konpeki tower heist, in Saburo's room near the lizard's log, there's a little egg. Pick up the egg, and once you're back at your apartment, you can set it down on the table outside your weapons room. The egg will hatch into an iguana after a little time and the game will allow you to pet the iguana. Petting the iguana will prompt Johnny to say "I'll give you two some time" (or something like that) and start playing his guitar.
I liked The Glen apartment for many reasons, one being the fact it was literally down the street from The Coyote. Seeing how Jackie had essentially made V a family friend, it gave my brain a nice warm feeling knowing that my home was just down the street from my best friend's, and my 2nd favorite character's, home.
Dont the coffee machines in other apartments do the boosts too?
Jackie made you part of his family. Mama Welles is always calling you mijo, Hispanic moms don't do that unless they see you as their own child, at least in my experience.
I’m surprised no one mentioned that the coffee maker in the glen apartment gives you 60 minutes of “energized” status. Sleep, shower, coffee gives you XP bonus, regen bonus, stamina and more.
Not every apt has coofie.
@@gijsvandergracht8000coofie?
I'm so mad that the Glen was the last one I bought. It surprised me in so many ways. Especially, the library, kitchen and the views. Just beautiful and my style
I totally agree!
I end up getting all the apartments. I don't like using fast travel so it's handy to have places to rest scattered over the city. I like to use the rested XP buff when I'm clearing up the gangs and fixer gigs etc. Sleeping and showering give buffs, and so does coffee. So the two apartments with coffee machines are my preferred places to rest.
For me personally the Japantown apartment is the one i love the most. I love how different the inside of the apartment is compared to the outside area which really gives the place a feeling of a safe space in an otherwise hostile enviroment. The vibes in that apartment is unmatched and I spent probably 30mins in the apartment the first time i bought it, playing the guitar and listening to the radio.
For my V this too is the perfect apartment. It’s in a beautiful district, very cozy and lived-in feeling. It feels like an actual home I’d like to live in.
Agreed. Perfect apartment for a street samurai build, I park the kusanagi in the alley behind the apartment. Iove how low key it is, as I've progressed and earned more euro dollars I bought the more lavish Glen apartment and now use the japantown and Northside apartments as hideouts around the city.
V's apartment being so comparatively nice was a bit of an immersion break for me. We're not exactly starting off at the bottom of the barrel with an apartment that would be considered pretty spacey in our modern day, never-mind the crowded streets of Night City.
I think canonically V’s apartment is the nicest unit in the mega building + being a low/mid level merc for awhile let V be wealthy enough to afford some luxuries
@@edwardho889 thank you😂 like am i supposed to be poor
V had to save up for about six months before they could afford that and the second hand Archer Hella you start off with. Megabuilding apartments are cheap because Megabuildings are simular to bad neighbourhoods.
@@SoulOfJustice1994 megabuildings are like cyberpunks projects
Storywise through a rough montage, the apartment is the result of V and Jackie having moved their way up with a comfortable amount of eddies. Dex doesn't just hire a guy without a nice apartment to go after Arasaka. I'm sure we all wish he hadn't.
Honestly Sam, I agree with you. The Glen apt. is nicer overall without the uncomfortable comfort of the Corpo apt. The Corpo apt is like the house of that one family member or family friend we all had who never had kids and all your childhood all you were ever told there was don't touch that, or don't spill that on my 300 year old French couch that some guy that 99% of the world has no idea who he is but he was famous. I hated that place.
Hahaha I love that analogy! Would much rather live in a less expensive home which I'm not afraid to damage constantly
My top 3 are The Glen for the aesthetic, V's original because I occasionally use mods and the parking garage & Northside because you can get in quickly, no elevator and there's parking space lol and it's not too far from Judy's place. I love the Penthouse, the mod, V's Edgerunners Mansion let's you use it but it needs an update. But if there's one place I wish we could have is the Peralez penthouse.
Damn, that's a good point about the quick access to Northside. I guess going back to the elevator ones time and again will get tedious after a while. The Peralez Penthouse was nice, though I'd be wary of the security there...
Let's face it a Apartment like the starting one would be a welcome step up for the most of us
in its ability to customize? couldn't agree more! would be super neat to be able to have different versions of those fancier apartments at a remodeling "premium".
When I was looking at all the possible apartment locations I chose the Glen's too and its just so nice of a place. I played Street kid V too, so this feels appropriate for being a "Work your way from the bottom" type apartment
For me V's first apartment is the best, it has the pets and it has the little trophies from other quests you complete.
While the Glen apartment is my favorite, I understand why the Corpo Apartment is the most expensive. When you put it in the context of Cyberpunk, items like wood and bamboo are considered a "luxury" because of the world that they live in. I don’t know if its because all the forests have been cut and it's considered "rare". Or if some megacorporation just has a monopoly on the lumber industry and has insane mark up on items like wood and bamboo
I wish they would add an apartment in the Bad Lands area, like a mobil home or a refurbished gas station. It would give off a bit of those Nomad vibes.
Having all the apartments also plays into character with me, more like safe houses and the like, it's cool to roleplay like that, then again, the glenn is for me as well my favorite with the second in japantown, really good list!
Each playthrough I am literally not happy until the map is completely clean. When all the city has going on is some rich chick playing piano at a bar that I am very resistant to visiting.
I actually prefer the Corpo apartment. The Glen is awesome but it's just not cozy enough for me and I'm not that into the loft design in general. The ceiling is too high and the colors are too cold. All that and the uncormfortable mesh flooring make me not feel at home there. While the Corpo apartment feels a little sterile, I just love the wood flooring and room deviding plants so much.
My favorite is the Japantown apartment, it just feels like a home to me. Cozy, comfortable and unpretentious. Plus I dig the neighborhood, especially for my streetkid builds.
The loft in the Glen is a close second and I totally get the reading nook being a big selling point, it was for me as well. The corpo apartment epitomizes the notion from the pen and paper 2020 game of style over substance, the Glen is style AND substance, while also being in a great location for a home base. Both my corpo builds and many of my streetkid builds call this place home. Shitty parking though, oh well.
The megablock crib is actually pretty cool, and once you've picked up some of the mission rewards I feel it has some real personality, if a bit unfinished. It's also well located, great parking and above all else, there's a cat.
I never saw the Northside place as an apartment, but rather as a bolthole. A place to hide out in or to crash at when you've spent all night faffing about in Northside and are just too tired to drive home. It's a bit nasty but functional.
I actively dislike the Corpo Plaza apartment. It feels sterile and without personality (unless your personality is "look at all my shiny baubles). Only one of my builds called it home, a corp whose build was based around "I'll show you Saka scum! I don't need you to rise to the top". The one upside I can think of is that having me as a neighbor would really chap the arses of the corpo residents.
Judy's crib is cool, I can see why people would dig it, but to me at least it's Judy's crib and everything in it reflects her. So I can't really see it as my place.
I like the Aldecaldo camp, and several of my Nomad builds consider that to be home, not for the amenities but for the people.
I don't really care about the other places at all.
None of my V's really care about security regardless of background or build. They all have the attitude of "G'wan kick in my door, FAFO choomba.
Some great insights there. I completely see it with all the ones you've mentioned! Love the varying characters all the player homes have
Yeah it feels like what I have now. just a mishmash of things in the appartment but somehow still work
While I'd much rather have a larger apartment, I kinda like the corpo apartment. It's small, so not a lot to clean, and has a fairly nice aesthetic (imo). The worst thing about it is probably the fact that the kitchen is small, but if you're making enough money to live there, you're probably not eating at home a lot. Plus it seems to me like the kind of place you'd get if you wanted to be closer to work and also don't plan on staying at home a lot.
That said, ya the apartment in The Glen is my favorite.
Now this is a video I was in need of. My current V only had the starter apartment and I haven’t found this play throughs pad yet.
This will help with that choice.
Glad that it was helpful. I look forward to hearing which one you go for this time!
My favorite is definitely the starting apartment. Cos after you complete main/side quests the room dynamically changes over time with a cat and lizard, posters and stuff hanging on the wall and shelves. if you got the GOG goodies you get stuff on the couch. Completing Judy’s romance she makes a heart on the floor with food it’s Really cool And the apartment has some small differences between life paths.
I bought the northside cuz in character I thought it'd be handy for when I need a place to lay low. And amusingly, Johnny leaves you there after you give him control the first time, but didn't even leave us in our actual appartment we paid for, instead he passed out in a random other appartment XD
He...takes you to a run down hotel in Pacifica.
@@markthorburn6707 That's a different part of the game. When you let him take over so he can talk to Rogue, he dumps you in Northside and leaves you with the hangover.
9
The Glen loft and Japantown are my two favorites but when getting with Judy I usually end up there most of the time. Would be cool if you could give your in game SO access to your apartment too.
One of the funniest rankings you've done for cyberpunk and I very agree! Another big thing about n1 on the list, is that it's close to el Coyote Cojo and queue can visit Mama Welles frequently. That matters.
Ah, that's a nice point. I was so busy admiring the aesthetic that I didn't consider she was nearby!
The Glen is my favorit too, thanks for the video, good job and great idea!
Great list! The Glen would definitely be the one I'd prefer IRL. I live in an exposed brick/giant window apartment right now, so it feels like home, haha. V's apartment is great, especially with mods to get the exact look you want in terms of color, etc., but the megabuilding vibe feels off when you're driving around in a Caliburn or something. Having it be the same layout as David's is great, too. I actually really dig the Northside apartment for a "take a day or two to reset" vibe. It's away from most of the stressful bullshit you're dealing with from day to day.
I haven't used the other apartments much because I haven't really RP'ed characters that would use them. I just started a Corpo playthrough, though, so we'll see where that takes me. Oh, and the penthouse would be a killer option to have.
V’s apartment having 2 vendors outside of it, the Cat, the Iguana, the ability to completely change the aesthetic with the colour schemes, and it’s where literally all of your sidequest trinkets get displayed. Posters for the politician mayor couple, poster for Lizzy Wizzy, Poster for Kerry, the old Monk’s altar thing, Misty’s Dreamcatcher, Scorpions statue of, well Scorpion. The fact that fixers drop your final gig reward in the starter appointment. V’s H10 Apartment has the most character, most memories, most immersion out of everything else.
fun thing about northside apartment is that you can get it free if you have 20 Int. You can hack the door and break in. it becomes free from that point on.
Damn I wish that worked in real life. A hacking course would be a lot cheaper than real estate...
The Glen’s my favorite. I have more than enough for each apartment but I feel like the Glen is an apartment that I would want in real life.
After watching: Good to see I’m not the only one who adores The Glen apartment. It would be nice if CDPR added some apartment specific activities. Maybe hosting a party, inviting a love interest over, more arcade games, etc.
I feel the same way about the Glen and Japantown apartments. Your ranking is very fair. When you brought up the comparison to the GTAV apartment it did reveal a lack of activities and personality that you can do in Cyberpunk. I hope they get to add a few more small features to the spaces before they finish patching the game.
Totally on point with you about rankings. I love The Glen and Japantown, and tend to use those as my two ‘homes’ in Night City far more than the others. I can find my way to both without maps when driving around the city (and V’s original apartment too, obviously), whereas I tend to stumble across the north and corpo ones, or need guidance to find them. Great video series, I really hope that the upcoming expansion adds a lot not just to the new area of the city, but ideally more interiors and things to do in Night City, because it’s an absolutely sensational experience.
I love how you just rank everything and it’s awesome!
Loving the narration as always, good luck with the content creation one the dlc drops next year
I only want for Phantom Liberty that they add the feature to buy the Penthouse from "The Sun" ending if you reach Street Cred 50 -which also unlocks the "Legend of the Afterlife" triumph if you see the Connection-. I just love the View, Balcony with a Pool, The Armory placement is also neat, the Bed with a awesome view over the city -Which is already mentioned-, Plants which is always a Bonus Point for me.
Hey Sam! Love your commentary and been hoping you’d do a video like this. Guess today’s my lucky day!
Haha, that's a happy coincidence, glad the video is what you were looking for!
your number one spot is pretty much mine as well. not that I've spent much time considering them against each other, but you make one hell of a case. And I do love books and a great view. :)
That's EXACTLY how I ranked them. And when you were talking about how underwhelming the city center penthouse is for the price?
It's like you were in my frickin head man!!🤣
LOL. Love the Danish word for cosy in the Northside apartment description, "Hygge" 😁
Think you hit the nail right on the head with this ❤
I wasn't expectung much from the Glen place as the area image made me think it was more like slums, but when I walked in to the actual appartment, my jaw just dropped.
Northside apartment is my favorite for three reasons: it's lived in with lots of people in the central area (V's megabuilding apartment has people but is sparsely populated for a megabuilding), you have easy access to your preem ride, and it's the location for the Romance Replays mod. The computer hardware inside also makes me think of V as the same kind of BD nerd Judy is.
I like the Glenn apartment best too. And also I'll say in addition to the things you mentioned, another aspect where this apartment makes more sense over the Corpo Plaze one is that it also has weights to work out with but also the room to use them. Plus the boxing bag feels more in place for V than a jumprope.
Tbh the megabuilding pad is nice. We should've started with the northside apt and have the megabuilding one be the 25K pad.
Northside was my favorite because you can tell how much care was put into making it, the guy who made it really wanted it to feel connected to the world of Cyberpunk, someone called it the epitome of Kitsch which was on point. The corpo apartment was my least favorite because of how basic and devoid of detail it seemed, granted that be by design, it just didn't have much personality.
I agree :)
Great review! This has been really helpful in deciding what I want to spend on. Especially since, in 2.0/Phantom Liberty it seems they've all doubled (roughly) in price.
My favorite apartment is the Corpo plaza I always love the tech and style of the Arasaka company and it has 2 of my favorite colors, red and black and as you said the security detail on the place is a extra plus. True it has those issue that you mentioned it bothers me too but I still love the Corpo style of it.
I like the glen
It has this open airy vibe that makes it seem really cozy to me
Plus the view is amazing
Plus...the little reading nook seems nice and cozy
i love how in the glen (i think so far ive only gotten this rng option the couple tries i did) when you hit the ball he can miss
can just feel V's anger in that middle finger lmao
Just realized the Glen’s apartment looks the same as Lucy’s and David’s apartment (the one they were living in together)
nah, their place looks like the legendary ending mansion
My personal rankings would be:
1. Japantown
(To me, this is the most lived in apartment in NC. The view may not be extravagant, but it gives me a humbling feeling. The guitar is hands down my favorite interactive object from all the apartments. Out of all the places in the game, this is where I would live if I were living in Pondsmith's Cyberpunk universe)
2. The Glen
(Good location that is pretty much in the middle of all NC. The view is spectacular, and the loft feels very wealthy, but not pretentious. The little reading nook is always a wonderful place to chill)
3. Aldequado Camp
(My first and favorite V was a Nomad. Everytime I visit this camp I always feel at peace. Driving around the Badlands in general is my favorite area in the entire game to explore)
4. Judy's Apartment
(Location is highly accessible to many activities, and the general feel of the apartment gives me good vibes)
5. River's House
(Holds a lot of personal value to me, because it reminds me of life in the Midwestern U.S. You also get the feeling that the whole neighborhood River lives in has a sense of real community)
6. Northside
(Has a lot of roleplaying potential. It's my headcanon that this is where V hides out at when they're trying to lose Arasaka's sight. Northside Watson also looks really cool at night with the red sky)
7. Corpo Plaza
(Put it above the penthouse, because we can actually utilize this apartment throughout the playthrough instead of the end. I do agree with your points that it does feel kinda "hollow" in a sense)
8. Edgerunner Penthouse
(Location and the home is cool, but we only get it for a short while in only 2 possible endings)
9. Megabuilding H10 (V's Original)
(This is a lot of people's favorite, but I honestly feel that it is pretty bland. Not bad, but not good either)
10. Kerry's Mansion
(I rarely visit Westbrook much, and the place is in a pretty big mess even after completing his questline)
All in all, I like all of these places in some way, shape, or form. Some more than others.
Here's hoping that Phantom Liberty will give us access to at least 1 or 2 extra apartments to call home
Nice list! And I agree that hopefully Phantom Liberty will provide more apartments. Would be a nice touch
Just got The Glen apartment yesterday and I totally agree with you. The aesthetic and space are amazing. Can't believe I paid more for the corpo one :/
As to your last pick with the Library Nook. There's just something about holding a book in your hands and having a nice drink for the other with some soft light and nice music to be so relaxing. Especially in a city that's almost always trying to kill you. I just wish you could like DL some books to read there on those paper books.
For me, the two I love the most are V's original apartment and the japantown one.
But, if I was able to, I would swap out the interior of the apartment in the game, for the one in japantown. Reason being, my main V (streetkid female) was born not far from the H03 MegaBuilding lol. You could literally look out the window and say 'I can see where I was born from here'
lol
But I love most of the aesthetic of the japantown apartment more, so swapping the inside of the glen for the inside of japantown would be perfect.
Clean up some of the extra bits...swap the bathroom and stash rooms around and, its perfect.
But...if I had to live in one myself, I'd rather have a copy of the original apartment here. Shove all my books and stuff in the gunroom and I'd be happy to live in that space til I'm old.
I wish the devs implemented a system where all the unlockable decorations from quest showed up in other apartments, because of the lack of this i cant move away from Vs original pad, otherwise the Japantown or Glen apartments would be the ones id use more often than not
You had me at "books."
😆
But seriously, though, I love the Glen apartment. I picked it up totally for lack of anything substantial to drop my copious eddies on in my first playthrough (I'm easily distracted from the Main Objective in games, too many old school RPGs where you can miss things if you advance too fast) and almost by accident.
Never has a video game impulse buy paid off so handsomely. 😎👍
Thanks for the nice video, choom. However!..
One important thing (which is probably less about being cozy and vibe) which MUST be took into account when we are talking about apartment and totally missed in this particular video - is how easy and fast you can get there. Because in addition to all those beautiful immersion items in the variety of "temporary homes" there is an important practical aspect - gain buffs (health, experience, stamina) from sleeping, shower and coffee. The faster you can get into your apartments to re-buff yourself, the more convenient your house become for your game-life, for the next round of an experience run.
From this particular practical aspects original V-apartment is absolute winner. It is just two steps from Fast travel point and you can get back to sleep, shower, try some new clothes in the wardrobe or check armory wall.
BTW animals were also missed in the video (cat and iguana) which makes V's dwelling much more warm, cozy and immersive. e.g. iguana will always be part of my Jackie storyline.
That is why original V-apartments somehow stays my favorite, specifically for day-by-day life. The rest is just for accidental chill, entertain yourself, but not for bipolar routine of the Night City legend
The Glen is great, I love it so much and would want to live in something like it. But the Japantown apartment is just, perfect to me. It's cozy, has cool stuff to interact with, it's just...so perfect.
The Glen was the first one I ever bought in game and is the only one I always buy through my various playthrough. I also love the aesthetics of it and the library, OMG that library corner, that's something Id love in my real life 😂
That's funny I also split between Glenn and Japan town. Good list!
Yeah, The Glen apartment is absolutely gorgeous. It filled me with tremendous envy just imagining living there. That reading nook, the overall aesthetic, just... wow.
Only thing id change is the top two, nothing beats ripping on the guitar, gives you a feeling of Johnny actually being in your head. 🤘🤟🖤
11:04 The desk area next to the windows there reminds me of the "LoFi Beats youtube livestream"- that & it's in Japantown
Great vid. Gotta say the only thing I do not like about the other apartments you can get is that you cannot move any of your pets/decorations from V's original apartment to the new ones you purchase. Be kind of cool to have Mr. Nibbles and the iguana sitting around the place in the Glen. :D
Living in Canada, I was blown away by the home prices in Night City. Alas! It's just a game.
Truly depends on how immersive and RP I want my play through to be. Playing Corpo guy the Glen is truly all that. If Corpo girl I like the higher end one. Street Kid, the Japantown one is the pinnacle, guy or girl. For Nomad, I like Northside...out of the way and cozy. V's for a entry level makes sense for me except for the Nomad background.....needing to rebuild if Corpo and a Street Kid is used to the Mega buildings.
Romance wise, I'm usually with Panam or Judy...and it is always nice to wake up with them after a nap at their place.
Too bad you can’t snuggle up with panam at your apartments
My favorite is Judy's place because i always return there after spending several days doing jobs and putting tiger claws into the dirt.
Returing to Judy's just feels right and welcoming for V, role-playing V and Judy having a good rock solid relationship so it's only natural for V to return home to her love.
Though outside of that V's original home is my third favorite place as it has mr. Nibbles there.
Second place would be corpo plaza for V if she started as a Corpo.
My favorites are definitely northside and japantown. I may just be a huge fan of the cluttered feel, but i enjoy the japantown one for the guitar and incense and copious windows--feels cozy :) the glen's great too but not quite the same. Northside's great because it feels realistic; early game v needing a place to crash at and not much more
The Glen is the one for me to. I agree with your list. The last couple of runs I didn't bother with the cheap on.
The Glen was the first propperty i ever bought, and I wasnt dissapointed, its so cool, it has an amazing view and seems to have the exact and perfect combination between high tech and retro hard rock café style, coffe machine, some very well placed gold details matched with black mate color.
Also I love the hood where this property is on, I like the Glen and Im pretty fond of Valentinos Gang, so yeah, pretty much my perfect and ideal crib, I still dont know if it has a Garage or not, it is a shame it doesnt have one.
I looked up tours of the new apartments before I bought any, because I was being careful with my money. As soon as I saw the apartment in the Glen, I knew which one I was getting. I would 100% live there IRL.
Judy’s apartment. Case closed.
I don't know if anyone has noticed this, but you can straight up squat in the northside appartments if you're a net runner. You can literally just hack the door instead of paying.
The glen and corpo plaza are the best imo only because they give you access to a stat boost at the coffee maker that lasts a real life hour. Combine that with the sleep stat, and shower stat, you can walk out with 3 stacks just from going home. The others only give you two.
The Corpo Plaza would be my number 1, if it weren't for the fact that the door to the room opens automatically. I like that you can wake up, have a coffee, go do your stuff, and come back to a nice soothing cup of tea to relax.
I just can't get over the fact that the door opens whenever I pass by it. It's a small thing, but it ruins the apartment completely.
Japantown is actually my favorite. It's cheap, homely, and while I can't make myself of a cup of coffee, I can still come back after being out for the day, have a drink, smoke, and play the guitar to settle in for the night. Plus I grew up in an incense burning house, so I can very easily 'smell' that apartment, and it ads a comforting familiarity.
Also, the door only opens when I want it too. Big plus.
the one that v pull the finger at that funny moment over all corpo
I went with the Corpo Plaza. Everything there is clean and right for my schedule :D
The Glen Apartment is definitely the one I go to when I wanna get that “wow, I’m making it pretty good” feeling
I usually end up the camp or river’s place and those kids did in fact scare the shit out of me when I picked up the game again 😂. That trailer has an unsettling feeling
Glen Apoartment is the place i always wanted to live and i mostly switch between Corpo-plaza and Glen in the game. At Glen its most difficult to find a parking place in front of the building while Corpo plaza offers more possibility to park your cars and bikes. But onces you got Nibbles you have always a reason to to come back to the megabuilding and always take a look what new upgrades have the Arms dealer and the coach fred in stock...
Hah! When I found those kids at Rivers sisters house doing their creepy wall stare, I thought it was just some random glitch. I didn't realize everyone saw that.
The view from V's original apartment gives me mad ghost in the shell vibes. If only the bed was right under the window so we could recreate that legendary shot of motoko waking up and looking over the city...
The Glen and the roof spot of Judy's place have the best views imo.
Tbf, Judy's ain't a bad view. I really love that idea of sleeping in the Glen looking out on that view a lot though
I agree with the loft asthetically but for convincing having a fast travel point right outside your door with no elevator ride in between is hard to beat
Hopefully, Orion gives players a reason to want to hang out at their properties. In 2.0 they basically just exist so we can set our outfits at the wardrobe, something everyone wishes they could just do anywhere and not have to travel to an apartment. Maybe have some cool missions with various neighbors that you get to know at the various properties etc. Maybe add pets? Give a reason to use a bed as to pass time now we can more conveniently just do from inventory. Potentially lock the skill tree elements to apartments.. something. They are sort of just an empty possession.
The Glen apartment is my personal favorite by a wide margin!! Being a city living kind of guy irl, the loft in The Glen is exactly the kind of loft apartment I always dreamed of owning one day.
haven't watched the video yet, but my favorite apartment is the OG apartment because its where all the cool stuff you get throughout your journey goes, its customizable with the ezhouse thingy on the computer, it has a drop point right outside, and its the easiest to access via fast travel to go to sleep quick for extra XP.
I use the corpo condo most for its centrality, and the bed, shower, and coffee machine are all within close proximity so I can get the hour-long buffs to all expire at around the same time.
the northside, funny enough, is one of my favorites it has a nice vibe to it
I agree with your list aside from the first two, I have to give my number one to Japantown for it’s vibe, and the guitar. (I play guitar so it is a really cool self-insert moment for me)
Not sure if you know about this but V’s first apartment you can customize how it works on the computer. Forgot how but I think you gotta click onto the apartment and then pay for a renovation looks
Love the Glen apartment, huge loft with an industrial aestetic and great view, plus a pool table were you canbget salty at the balls non falling in the holes
The mesh floor with your bed could work if there's a layer of glass or plexiglass covering it to act as proper support.
What about convenience factors? I’m still very new to this game, but I’m thinking about things like proximity to fast travel (like V’s starting apartment has), or things like the coffee buff or very fast access to the parking garage (which the starting apartment lacks).
I accidentally clicked on this video juggling my phone and decided to stick around. I’m playing through again and decided to go back to Vs apartment randomly and got new dialogue with Johnny. He sat down on the couch and we talked about a thing that just happened so it looks like they’ve added new interactions with him in your apartment at points in the story cause I clip I looked up after had totally different dialogue. so I’ll be going back way more often now
I agree for what you placed in first place but at the same time it can't beat waking up next to Judy when you sleep at her apartment
As far as design is concerned, the Glen apartment is also my number 1 but when it comes to the most practical apartment then it is the original apartment. The fast travel point right outside the front door makes it the quickest to reach.
