    Oh man I found gold ring with the 4 inch coil and I ran mine in Tone and disc out everything right up to the pull tab Nickel.. People think the Tracker 4 is a toy and diss miss the whole fundamentals in the hobby.. It is a really easy to use detector and will find you lots of good things. Thanks For sharing ..

    The first time I used my TK4 I was at a local beach (Florida). I used the all metal mode and found a nice 14K bracelet in wet sand. A great machine for the money.

    I ordered myself one with a damaged box for 56 dollars for Christmas. Hopefully there`s nothing wrong with it. I have a better detector but have heard a lot of great things about this one and had to get it. Now someone else can hunt with me and I have a fun backup detector or a loaner if someone needs to find a lost item. I have my eye on a Simplex and an entry level Minelab 340 with multiple frequencies to hunt for deep silver coins.

    Great videos Russ, learning lots. I want to use mine for some prospecting nuggets. Would the 4" coil be more sensitive to smaller nuggets then the 8?

    • @AmericanDetection
      @AmericanDetection  Год назад

      Hello Konnie- Yes the 4" coil is now sensitive to small gold than the stock 8" coil.

    I’ve watched a few of your videos and I decided I want to run on Tone mode, my main focus is to discriminate against iron and just focus on gold, but I am not sure what setting I should have my disc. Set to when I’m in tone mode and just trying to find gold? I’m hoping in that mode I can focus on the lower sounds and mostly just dig when I have the opportunity for gold.

      The difficult thing about gold is that aluminum sounds just like it and there is a ton of aluminum in the ground. If you have patience you can and will find gold. Good luck. Let me know if you have any questions!

    I'm new, so please excuse my ignorance. To find gold, your settings will be set in a way that picks up everything, including aluminum pull tabs?

    • @AmericanDetection
      @AmericanDetection  2 года назад

      Gold, nickels, aluminum and pull tabs all have similar electrical signatures so you end up having to dig all of those items if you are looking for gold rings.

    Two questions, question number one today I went to three different spots and I had my settings just like you but I had the discrimination all the way up to the right, does that mean I might have missed a ring? All I found tonight was a keychain with a key on it, I put two different gold rings up to it with the settings that I use tonight in it worked fine. Question number 2 when I went over the two gold rings it made a deeper tone it almost sounded a little bit different than yours I thought that was nice because you can really distinguish what the tone if you were hovering over some gold I'm guessing that's not always the case but does that sound like something the detector would do? Thanks again talk to you soon

      Hello- Question #1: By maxing out the sensitivity fully clockwise, you will discriminate out all the way up to zinc penny. Only larger gold rings will tend to ring up in the zinc penny range. With that being said, if there were smaller gold rings present or platinum rings, you would likely have not detected them. Question #2: if the rings were right at the edge of discrimination, it is conceivable that you might get a somewhat different tone. However, normally, Gold will give a low tone. See my video here: ruclips.net/video/k2ojpIZ0MI4/видео.html I hope this answer helps some. Good luck!

    Mine has a really hard time detecting gold. I tested it with a 14k gold chain and it had to be about a centimeter away for it to barely chirp.

    • @AmericanDetection
      @AmericanDetection  Год назад +1

      All metal detectors will struggle on a chain. There just isn't a lot of metal. Better of testing on a ring.
