I love how Weird Al inspires fun and does not take himself or fame serious. While still being a great musician and arranger, and having the power of a fantastic band with him. The parodies are fantastic, but mind you, his originals are really wonderful as well. I love there are grown-ups like Al. Not a lot of them, but he makes up for the lack of them.

I heard a talk with him on radio and he said a fan saw him and exclaimed "Weird Al Yankovic, I didn't know you were still alive". Without skipping a beat Weird Al retorted, "I didn't know that you were EVER alive".!! OUCH, got him good. And the interviewer was complementing Weird Al for such a great comeback while laughing heartily.

Weird Al often goes to incredible lengths to make sure his parodies stand up to scrutiny. For "The Saga Begins", he attended a very expensive pre screening to make sure his lyrics were accurate, and for "Smells Like Nirvana", he used the same high school set and most of the same extras as the "Smells Like Teen Spirit". That more than anything else explains his longevity and popularity, he's very serious about parody.

It's pretty well known that Al doesn't typically release tracks where he didn't get permission. It's why everyone gave Coolio such side-eye when he tried to talk shit about Amish Paradise. Not only did Jackson give permission to parody the song, he gave permission to parody the video and to use the actual sets Jackson used. If you paid attention to this list, a number of these songs don't have videos because he wasn't given permission to parody the video along with the songs.

Weird Al was a music parody genius. You could easily make anther list for him with more songs. The only person to come even close to his talent is Chris Mann’s ‘My Carona’ an hilarious parody of My Sharona. He learned everything he knows from Weird Al.

One thing about Al is how he always wanted permission to do the song from the artist and asked for it. Also Madonna wanted him to do Like a Surgeon and that was her in the video. He started when I was a young man and still love his music to this day. His intellect and the way he matches the song with his own touch is unbelievable. Just researched it and it was a look a like but she did want the song made.

The music for Gangsta's Paradise as it was with Amish Paradise was sampled from Stevie Wonder's Pasttime Paradise from his 1976 release Songs In The Key of Life. Many people tend to forget that. No one gave Stevie enough credit for that.

Some of Weird Al's style songs sound more like a parody of a song than just a style of an artist or artists such as "Trigger Happy" having the same melody and sounding very like The Beach Boys "Fun Fun Fun"". My favourite Weird Al parody is "Trapped in the Drive-Thru" I could listen to that hundreds of times still find it funny and never get bored of it. My other favourites are (In no order):
    The Saga Begins
    Do I Creep You Out
    Party in the CIA
    Jurassic Park
    Ebay
    Amish Paradise
    Eat It
    Fat
    Tacky
    Couch Potato
    White and Nerdy
    Like a Surgeon
    Livin' In the Fridge
    It's All About The Pentiums
    Handy

I was once leaving my parent's house for a week and when my dad turned the car on American Pie was playing, so I sang it out the window at my mom as we drove away. She called me a minute later and said, "(this'll be the day that I die) probably isn't the best thing to sing as you're saying goodbye." So I sang "soon I'm gonna be a Jedi" at her instead. She was appeased.

You know, Weird Al makes so many people happy.
And he never does insult to the original artists, and he isn't in it for money either.
Sadly, he is far more entertaining than most of the original artists which is why I think they are so jealous.
He's funny, can sing and dance and entertain and isn't offensive.
He's been making me laugh so hard since I was a little kid and I thank him.
It never takes away from the original, I actually many times want to then watch the original song after his video lol
