It's weird how people look at Heroes as a bad game, yet that game had perhaps the most interesting development for Metal Sonic's character. Many even say that Heroes is Metal's peak as a character.
Oh, and trust me, it gets even weirder when you get to '06 with Shadow and Black Knight with Sonic himself.

@@Termina2018 I personally thought heroes was cool with the characters having their own thing in different teams. Like Speed, Fly and Power but some special moves, including the Team Blast looked pretty nice. I’m still disappointed that they left out Super Tails and Super Knuckles.

It's definitely possible seeing what the community has done with Sonic forces: overclocked we'll just have to wait is all. There's already concepts for original bosses that modders can use
