I have one association with the great Jimmy. I oftentimes played in Jimmy's community dance hall with our band. It stood a short way down from his home village of Letham. Every time I hear Jimmy play it brings back lots of lovely times in Letham village hall😍😍
Aussie with Scottish heritage. My dear Nan and Pop used to play Jimmy Shand records (78 rpm vinyls) when I was a boy. Always loved this music, brings back so many memories. Jimmy Shand a true Scottish legend!
this is awesome music and dancing, my dad came from fife to nz, and would sing these old songs to me so they are very special, loverly to here them still being played for our enjoyment.
The Great Jimmy Shand and his band brilliant people brilliant and first class music as the sayin goes ye canny beat it My granddad was a fiddler and played the bag pipes as well now my son plays and teaches
I am Irish ,these Scottish shows were very popular on Irish Radio and Television back when I was a Child. Jimmy Shand and his Band were on most nights of the week back then around the late 50ties and 60ties. I liked them a lot until came the time that they disappeared . So U Tube gives me a chance to see and listen to those old Songs and Tunes again.
My bonnie lies over the ocean,,, oh dear what can the matter be,,, and, won't you buy my pretty flowers. Then it goes back to,, my bonnie lies over the ocean, to finish..
