Hello! I have a new printable notepad pattern - Daffodils! It's also a slightly different size (more square), but still prints 6 notepad pages per sheet of printing paper! You can find it here: www.zaccura.com/product-page/diy-notepads-printable-pattern-pack-design-daffodils And this page always shows any notepads, digital and physical, currently in stock: www.zaccura.com/shop?Collection=Notepads&Category=Notepads Best of luck with this project!!💕
I went to school to make things like this, I have a couple notes. If you don't have a printer at home, you can get your pages printed at the library but a professional place like Quick Print is cheaper per page, they also can make pads for you to ANY size. I do not recommend PVA or Elmer's glue, I recommend wood glue, a sponge brush and multiple layers of glue. Also you can use a book press and stack multiple pads together and separate them when they're dry. Though the binder clips are an inspired idea for small batches.
Thanks for sharing!! Curious why wood glue over PVA? I feel it might be too strong to allow the pages to be pulled off easily? But I've never tried so not sure. :)
@@Zaccura Because it's thicker, the glue that we used for padmaking was super thick. Some people use hot glue for theirs which I don't recommend because it's difficult to get an even layer and it's too thick. One or two layers of wood glue is perfect
Cute project! You could also glue a thin magnet onto the back if you want to hang them on a fridge or freezer. For anyone who doesn’t want to print out images; they could use colored pencils to decorate each page.
7:34 That is a superb tip! I always am left with binder impressions on my sketchbooks. This will definitely help prevent that! And its seems super useful here as it prevents glue from getting in between the pages. I have also been thinking about those whales that I remember you painted on you Himi Gouache review and was thinking of sticker designs of them, but this honestly looks way more cute😍
Thanks for the dimensions! I'll adjust the dimensions of my memo pads. Now, I can print more sheets and have less paper trimmings. Plus, the size is too cute and handy.
Thank you so much for the idea. Now I know what I am going to be doing next year for my craft fair! Now I just need to get in there and design. This will be perfect!
These are so cuuute i love them i probably would like to buy the whale ones. Your such a cool artist i might give it a try ( not like i have anything better to do , i mean except the mountain of school work i have lol 😂) have a good week 😁
How I make notepads too! I also make sticky notes a similar way (I just use a repositionable adhesive, like Elmer's Craft Bond glue stick, on the back of the notes, and then stack them)! ^^
I just found your page and I'm soooo! Excited I did. I don't have a circuit and don't plan on getting one but your diy videos are so easy to understand and I like to do things on my own. I love this note pad idea. I wanted to make my own. Thank you 😊
Thank you so much for the shout out. You are such a sweetheart. I love this video, super informational, and I love your new pads they are so cute. Keep up the great work, I love your videos.
Your video is so easy to understand and very helpful for beginners like me! Yey! Thank you ❤ may i know what application do you use? Kind of struggling printing

I wouldn't recommend this method for that because the pages are made to be torn out here and may fall out if you try to turn them around. For memopad you would need to get the glue further into the pages. I would recommend looking for book binding tutorials - the glue based ones will show the technique needed to keep the pages from falling out. ;)
Waaah early hii Zaccura 🤩 I'm also starting a journal, my journal is about art journaling so exited and i aslo ordered a few things online hahaha🤣 🤩🤩💗💗😁😁also when i'm making my own sketchbookss i also do the same thing but i use a glue gun it is also a faster way to bond the paper atleast in my experience 😅love the notepads😍😊😘🤩
Hello! Amazing tutorial! Im planning on doing this for a custom shopping list, and was wondering if youd recommend using a hot glue gun instead of craft glue? Since the commerically sold notepads are more of a waxxy glue like hot glue. Let me know what you think of this idea, and thank you for the tutorial :)
If you mean the white semi-translucent paper that I used to wrap the notepads in at the end of the video, it's actually just regular parchment paper! ;) Tape doesn't really stick to it though, hence the need for string.
It is still available! Sorry about that, the link in the description wasn't working properly, but I just fixed it. Should be ok now. Here it is too: www.zaccura.com/shop?Collection=Notepads&Category=Notepads Thanks for catching it! Best of luck with your notepads!
I used a pretty regular copy paper, worked great. I don't actually know much about bonding haha. But I put the exact paper I used in the description box (materials section) if you're curious about the exact brand. Hope that helps! :)

What software do you use to design the pads ? And love the video and also I am wandering what size did you cut the chipboard ? Thank you for your time.
Hello do you have any suggestions for memo pad size? I will use WORD when compiling them hopefully you can help since I find your video easy and informing Im using it for school
Hope this reply isn't too late! I think a normal memo pad size would be 5.5" x 4.25", which is a quarter of a letter-sized sheet of paper (8.5" x 11"). That's what I would go with because it should be easy to line up in WORD and it doesn't waste any paper. :)
This is the only video I've made on notepads so far. The design section of the video at 2:46 kinda shows my process. But all you pretty much need to create your own designs is to know what size you'll be printing at, then just set your canvas to that size and start doodling until you've got something you like. That's how I made mine. ;) Hope this is helpful, and best of luck!
Thank you for helping us! I tried making my own but for some reason, I can't get them to cut straight, & when I glue them, especially more than one at once to save time, the glue usually seeps in & messes up my pages 😢😢 any suggestions?
Oh dear! Hmm... Sounds like maybe the glue you're using is too watery? If it's thick like the one I'm using in the video, it shouldn't seep into the pages. Also make sure you're using the binder clips to hold everything tight before applying glue! As for cutting straight, if you don't have a straight paper cutter, try using a cutting mat, which has straight lines all over, line up the paper and run an exacto blade across. Hope this helps! 💕
Yes! These notepads are definitely not waterproof. The paper is also very thin so it will warp if you spill water on them. The ink itself does not bleed though, and should not feel wet after printing.
I have some off-cuts of cardstock (110lb/300gsm, in case it matters) lying around from an ongoing project. Would a piece of that work in place of the chipboard?
Thanks! Yeah my blade isn't sharp enough to get the edges nice and crisp. A guillotine-style cutter would probably make less messy edges, but I never seem to get the same accuracy with one of those.🤔

Thank you for such quality and fun filled videos! Your talent and time is very appreciated. The humor is an added bonus!

wait... I just checked your shop for the first time and--the cute whale is already a sticker!?
So glad the binder clip thing was helpful! And yep, the Whale Fly sticker was one of the first items when I launched my shop a few months back. :)
Watching you cut the papers are really ASMR style 😊
Thanks for the dimensions! I'll adjust the dimensions of my memo pads. Now, I can print more sheets and have less paper trimmings. Plus, the size is too cute and handy.
I didn’t know you could make your own notepad! Thanks for sharing. This will be my next project!!
Nevermind I went back and watched the video again 🤦🏻♀️ thank you so much for this amazing video
Thank you so much for the idea. Now I know what I am going to be doing next year for my craft fair! Now I just need to get in there and design. This will be perfect!
I'm literally shocked at how easy this is!! Thank you so much for sharing ^_^
This would make a great mother's day gift... Cause I already have everything! Yay!

Thank you to you and Kristen 🤩
I love this ! Thank you for sharing! One question. How long do you set the notepads out to dry?
I usually wait at least 1 hour before removing the clips, but I like to wait at least 1 day before I feel comfortable to call them "usable". :)

Hi what gsm of paper do you use in these amazing notepads? I hope you notice me. Thanks
Regular copy paper 20lb
Omg I love your channel!
Thanks for calculating the correct size for me!! Just out of curiosity, how did you calculate that size? Did it involve a bit of algebra?
Actually no, just measuring and arithmetic using decimals! Though, algebra probably would've been faster haha.
Tysm! Best tutorial 🌲☺️
this looks like such a fun project! cant wait to try this out :3
Thank you for sharing. Am also passionate about DIY projects i will give a try

Can we like flip the page without tearing the page? Like a memopad setup. Thanks for answering!
I wouldn't recommend this method for that because the pages are made to be torn out here and may fall out if you try to turn them around. For memopad you would need to get the glue further into the pages. That's a great tip about the glue gun!! I'd probably burn myself tho lol😂
Thank you!
What do you use to trim them after they're glued? I noticed your already made notepads have a nice trimmed edge.
I don't trim them after gluing! Up close they definitely do have a slightly rough edge, which I think adds a handmade charm😊💕
i love your videos, very creative and the most important it's easy to make at home and start a new business. Thank you !
