Hi i just want to say that i like u a lot because other shop owners would never make a tutorial for something they sell and wouldn’t explain everything so well I really like your channel and wish u the best
I made a self-confidence booster from this video. 36 pages with uplifting text like "I have worth" - "I'm unique" - "I am loved" and stuff like that, one page a day, to help people with low confidence and self-worth get better. Mine is surely the first try, and it's very clearly the first try, but the concept is there and it is functional!
I saw your Channel yesterday and i saw: This Girl is one very Professional Artist and i will this Girl very many things learnt. I from Hungary, and i love your channel:)
Thanks for sharing very generous of you. Perfect timing finding this video since I was working on creating gifts for Christmas. Going to try using poster boards for the tent fold, hopefully it’ll work so it will be one shot and done
it took me 7652084728677240875 hours and wasted paper sheets to get that right... Now, after having the same printer for 2 years, I THINK I got it right... but still I get flustered when I have to print duplex in that precise way! Fantastic tutorial, you are very generous sharing such how-to as this one. Thank you very very much.
Hello! This is the first year that I will be making calendars. I’ve experimented with a few materials for the standee. Double sided sticky tape helps so you don’t have to worry about glue. Also I like the 110 lb cardstock instead of chipboard. It’s easier to cut and stands up pretty good. I do recommend the reinforcement of paper covering it as you did the chipboard just to make it more sturdier. But I love this video thanks for sharing!! ❤️
Definitely would try this! I appreciate the detail and how you showed us alternatives to those of us without a ring binder. Thank you so much! Your tutorial is amazing!
this is the best n wholesome n best explained Super Inspiring video ever!♡♡ i would never thought it is this easy to make it! i just drew a some lines n dots n blocks on paper without finished it fully and im already feeling so productive omfg so inspired xD wish u all the best ♡ 🙏🏻🙏🏻🤩🥰 love u♡
Hello! Was thinking of making a 2021 calender, with some favorite car illustrations I've made will be printed on backpages. Loved your video & I'll definitely follow it & share the end results in Instagram if I succeed. Meanwhile, thanks and good luck!
I'm not sure, but I would say a lot! Especially if you use regular copy paper (which is very light and thin). As much as you can fit in the coil and still flip the pages aroundeasily. Glad the tutorial was useful, good luck with your project!
Hello and thank you for an excellent and easy to follow tutorial. I appreciate the detail and care you took and how you offered alternatives to those of us without a printer and fun gadgets. You rock! Best to you in 2021.
Omg I love this so much, Thank you for the tutorial. Do you make the little cardboard boxes you package in, or have a link as to where to find them? Thank you in advance
Thanks for sharing all this! I do have one tiny bit of constructive criticism... The edges of your products look a little rough. I think you should upgrade the cutter to a gillatine style. I have that same cutting machine you have, and the blades don't last long or cut very well. Thanks again for your great videos!
@@pixxa37 I just got one for about $20. It seems to be working well. Its a small investment that makes a big impact in professionalism. I think the DIY Calendar looks great...but cleaner edges would go a long way in making it look professional.
The price is listed right above the 'Add to card' button on the product page. If you still can't see it, then just add it to your cart, and look at the subtotal. ;) And thank you so much!! So glad you like it.💖😊 Here's a link to the item btw: www.zaccura.com/product-page/printout-diy-2021-desk-calendar
Absolutely ok! I drew almost exclusively with a pencil for 2 years before I started learning about color. But if you want to get better with colors, then you will with practice. And I don't really have a huge preference with comics, for me it's all about the story. And the images just have to be clear enough to understand what's going on. But I suppose a good quality colored comic would be more attractive for me over black and white, just because I'm also a visual artist so I appreciate illustration.
I use a 2-in-1 laptop that comes with a pressure-sensitive pen for drawing/uploading (unfortunately my laptop modal is no longer in production, but there are very similar ones on the market!). I use a printer, which has a scanner on top, for scanning pages and artwork to my laptop.
It should be 'actual size'! The "fit" option on your software probably adds additional margins (making the patterns a tiny bit smaller), but I already factored in margins in all my pintables, so it should come out correct at 'actual size'. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other issues/questions!
I think they're called the same thing, just 'paper trimmer', which is probably why it's difficult for you to differentiate when searching. The one I used is in the description box though!
(UPDATED for 2025) You can get the printable pattern pack for this calendar on my shop here: www.zaccura.com/product-page/printout-diy-2025-desk-calendar Edit 2025: I noticed there are still lots of new people watching this video (hiii👋), so I updated the digital printout yet again! It’s the exact same design shown in the video but with updated dates & holidays for 2025. Hope y'all will give this project a try!
Thank you a lot and yea u didnt use in the video i was talking about that comic, for Tapas video in which u did the ink so well . Thanks for telling me the name of the pen .

Wonderful tutorial!

Been looking for this, the base part for a long time! Gracias
Thank you, this video is exactly what I was looking for! How many pages do you think this base could support if I use a bigger coil?
I'm not sure, but I would say a lot! Especially if you use regular copy paper (which is very light and thin). As much as you can fit in the coil and still flip the pages aroundeasily.
Glad the tutorial was useful, good luck with your project!
This was just the one I was looking for. It is perfect

Thanks for the video
Can you do a tutorial separately on how to arrange the pages for printing
Glad you enjoyed it! Could you explain further what you mean? At 6:46 in this vid I show how I arrange the pages for printing. :)
That's lovely. I'll take a look!
Have you considered streming maybe on twitch or youtube? I'd totally watch, It would be fun to see your art process in real time!
Ahh I've been itching to get back into livestreaming! Just been too busy to set it up haha. Hopefully in the future

Just heads up that Europe uses different paper sizes (A4 is 8-1/4 x 11-3/4 inches) so if you’re in Europe adjust your calculations for that :)
i really love love your video, its really perfect thank you

Thank you for sharing this
I love this

Thanks for this DIY! Have you ever tried using material instead of the cardstock?
Nope, just cardstock or cardboard like in base method 1. Not sure what else to use🤔

a decent guillotine might cost quite a bit. There are cheap ones, but they will not work well in many ways.

Better soon than late!
What program are you building with?
Thank you
is it possible for me to make the calendar bigger while
still using this tutorial? or will it not work due to the different measurements?
I don't see why you couldn't make it bigger! But you might need more ring holes for proper binding. :)
@@Zaccura thank you!!
I make a calender it is very easy
AWESOME !!! I just checked it out but there isn't a price on the printable pack so how much is that ? ;) Thank you so much for sharing ;D

Is there a reason why you don't crease your cardboard before folding and glue the paper on folded calendar?
Do you think its ok, if we are good in sketching and shading but bad in colouring ?
And do u prefer colouring or shading in a comic
Absolutely ok! I drew almost exclusively with a pencil for 2 years before I started learning about color. But if you want to get better with colors, then you will with practice.
And I don't really have a huge preference with comics, for me it's all about the story. And the images just have to be clear enough to understand what's going on. But I suppose a good quality colored comic would be more attractive for me over black and white, just because I'm also a visual artist so I appreciate illustration.
How about a perpetual calendar next time? 😉
What kind of tablet do you have that you use to scan and post webcomics?
I use a 2-in-1 laptop that comes with a pressure-sensitive pen for drawing/uploading (unfortunately my laptop modal is no longer in production, but there are very similar ones on the market!). I use a printer, which has a scanner on top, for scanning pages and artwork to my laptop.
I have the same printer as you - I got it almost ten years ago - is yours new? Mine won’t print good even when I buy new ink which is so expensive 😭
might depende on the settings or paper used
well..this is the last day of 2020..the 31St of Dec
Question: When printing, do I set to 'actual size' or 'fit'? I tried both on the easy base and the holes to punch were different.
It should be 'actual size'! The "fit" option on your software probably adds additional margins (making the patterns a tiny bit smaller), but I already factored in margins in all my pintables, so it should come out correct at 'actual size'. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other issues/questions!

What's that cutter called? I'ver tried to look everywhere for one like that but i only get guillotine ones.
