I find myself watching this several years later and trying to yell out "don't get up there Craig, it's not gonna go well" But it's too late for any warnings,
@Gary Beaton did you read the magistrate's ruling and her explanation as to why he was found "not guilty"? She said he did it but her hands were tied by the outdated laws of the time. Not exactly a slam dunk. No one should be ashamed for calling a sexual predator a sexual predator.
I remember watching this live on TV back in 2005 and laughing. Not because it was funny but because it was laughable. The idea that he or someone he knew thought this was comedy gold. It was also laughable that this was actually promoting future comedy appearances. It was saving people a lot of time and money by having him on The (Nrl) Footy Show first.
I remember they played the audio on Melbourne morning radio afterwards and mentioned they had to curtain off sections of seating on the tour as ticket sales were so poor
Gold Logie winners tend to get more leniency when it comes to booking television gigs. The producers of Channel Nine must have thought that because of this, that he might actually be entertaining. How wrong they were.
Yeah, now he wants " the world to know" he's innocent. 99.9% of Australia forgot about him until this new celebrity stunt and he wants "the world to know"? 😂 Epstein said he was innocent too. At least he didn't prance around on stage in female undergarments.
@@kevangelos817 you obviously know him personally to judge him like that and post it on the internet...and your suggesting he's done this as part of a celebrity stunt. I think you speak for a a very very small vocal minority who opens their mouth no matter how clear and proven facts are.
@@bleedingme666 Ok O.J Simpson. You just keep telling truths but no lies about me. Yes, a small minority of vocals from the silent majority. But you still try silence the minority that speaks their opinion. How gracious. Yes, I don't know him personally, just like the judge and everyone else tasked with helping make a judgement, so what value does that truth have huh? Judgement is a very useful human tool. It helps keep you away from bad crowds, away from imminent danger, women and men safe from predators, the list is extensive. If more people were more vocal and judgemental online and in the open it might cure the degenerative west from its imminent downfall. But if you think not judging and dealing with the consequences later is better, then Christ, the leader of the most persecuted, vilified, hated, and preyed upon religion in the world who preach non judgement loves you. See ya O.J
@Gary Beaton he was acquitted based on the laws at the time where the offender only needed to say they *thought* they had consent, they didn't actually need consent. That's what the judge said in her ruling. She was bound by the law despite believing his accusers to be credible. So he was lucky that the law was outdated and written to protect offenders rather than victims. If he was accused today he wouldn't have received the same outcome because the laws have now caught up with reality.
When he did that in his bedroom at home in front of the mirror it probably looked like a sure fire winner. It’s interesting that until a room packed with thousands of people booed in unison it appears that he thought it was still going well. Lesson for budding comedians, test your material, read the room and for the love of god have a funny exit strategy.
I think the worst thing he ever did here was try out his material on such a large audience. The material was terrible to begin with, but he wouldn't have got anywhere near as much heckling as this from a smaller audience.
