I soak a quarter cup of raw almonds and 1-2 dates in 1 cup of water for 30 min to an hour, and then blend it up with 3 additional cups of water in the Vitamix to make my almondmilk. This has to be one of the cheapest and effective options, but I will grant that the almond butter is faster and any blender can handle the job. Just offering an alternative! Note, the recipe I based this on used a full cup of almonds to 4 cups of water, but I find it plenty creamy with just a quarter cup. And I add vanilla extract as well, and don't bother straining out the good ol fiber. Keeps well in the fridge for at least 4 days too.
VERY excited for this series! I have the cook book and got it for my son, will be sharing this video with him asap. Love all you do, grateful for y'all this morning.
So glad you are doing this again and going through each recipe. I found your channel years ago through your coverage of Dr. Greger's cookbook. I have both of his cookbooks and look forward to cooking along with you.
In today's marketplace things like almond butter, cacao and almonds are so expensive that this would have to be a once in a blue moon treat. Soy milk much cheaper and I don't have to clean up.

This is So much easier than using nuts and nut bags to strain . And I love the chocolate milk idea too ❤️😊

Just sharing as we work our way through the cookbook.
Best brands of Almond Nut Butter please? I missed that.
P.S. I have the cookbook.
I like the raw almond butter from Trader Joe’s
Is there a reason you can't just use raw nuts?
It would make it gritty and most people would want to use a nut bag to strain it. This makes it smooth and no need for that step.
Thank you for doing this!
Thank you for watching Pam!
