Every single damn time! I have owned the car since august and not ONCE have i not turned back to look at it! not even when I'm in a hurry! Greatest purchase I have ever made!
I've just bought a Guilletta on a 2014 plate. Before that I drove a X type jaguar. And I speak as find I am well impressed with the guilietta. I would rather drive my Alfa than my jaguar. It's comfortable and fuel efficient with a great turn of speed from the 1600 turbo charged engine. I would definitely buy another one in the future.
I just this car. So much better looking than it’s main rivals. Reliability is genuinely not an issue with modern Alfa’s. I’ve had a 147 and a Giulietta and as long as they’re well maintained with a regular oil change as advised you won’t have any problems.
Very nice video. I am from Greece and i have Giulietta 2013 mont' with manual transmission 1,4 170 hp.....but now is 244 hp, full exhaust system down pipe 63,5 diameter, open racing catalytic, BMC racing filter, and stage 2 tuning. With cost only 1,980 Euro!!! It's the best low cost serius family sport car, VERY BIUTIFUL CAR! Really it's fan to drive! Bellissimo! viva Alfa Romeo Giulietta!
My 2015 1.6 JTDM.2 Collezione has 98000 km, nothing is broken, misbehaving or squeaking and looks as beautiful as it had 8 years ago (Dec 2015). Recently tuned it to stage 1 and every thought I had of buying me a new car went right out the window. A beautiful road weapon disguised as a family hatchback. And none of my back-seaters has complained so far (I 've had plenty of them and I'm a 1.88 105kg adult).
Reallly...compare this beauty with VW ,Ford ,Opel/Vauxhall ? I am a Ford guy ..but i have had Italians ...and those cars have that something that makes measuring in numbers TOTALLY pointless.
There is far enough space in the back for the legs! You just exaggerated the move back of the seat and the inclination of the backrest. The proof: the position of the headrest is never that much moved back compared to the side of the center post cockpit. The headrest should be slightly ahead, if you just want to turn the head to see through the window instead of the center post. What kind of reviewer are you... ?
You don't buy these cars from being practical, it's all but look and feel, nothing else. The ideal car for a couple, before kids or retired who only cares for the Golf bag.
I can understand your rather cautious and guarded review which is both fair and accurate. If you can find a well looked after giulietta, however, you will be VERY HAPPY. I still look forward to driving mine every day. I just love it !
nice to see some positive comments, sick and tired of listening to the same old criticism that are just not valid any more, have done thousands of Km"s in Alfa's and fiat's with very few problems, I have owned German and British vehicles that have been rubbish , particularly British, yes its true that Alfa and fiat had terrible rust issues in a certain period that have long since been overcome, it was around the same time as the British motor industry rusted itself into oblivion!! well with very bad designs and quality also. The Italian auto industry is one of the worlds largest and is still Italian owned, oh also outright own chrysler.
I had the 1972 Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV and I'm sad I sold because we were getting children. Should have kept these masterpiece who now has been one of the few cars who rise in value. Yes, there was some rust at the end but most due to driving on salty winter roads, but the handling, engine, gearbox and brakes a real joy and last but not least the italian design.
Everyone is in a rush in this punchy little Giulietta...Ryan is a super laid back guy did you have him on 2x playback speed? 😂 Thanks for the comments Dodo 👍
Hi Gojin, yes totally, the pedals make heel and toe easier - but they're still too close together and at odd heights, they make the footwell feel too cramped. Ryan has heard of it, he just didn't necessary think it was beneficial in this instance. Maybe we can help set you up with a test drive to see for yourself www.carkeys.co.uk/contact-us?ckytc
Dave 101 - I'm with Gojin1980: All the Alfas I've owned/driven have had close-set pedals - 147,156, 159, Giulietta. I believe Alfa make their cars driver-orientated first and foremost, and the pedal config deliberately lends itself to heel-toe and fast pedal transition quite deliberately. It's all a matter of personal preference though. You can heel-toe in an MX5 or an X-Trail, but some pedal set-ups don't make it easy as they're designed for other purposes (i.e. a 4X4 designer is thinking of someone driving in wellies so spaces the pedals further apart). I'm no racing driver but I heel-toe - try it out, you'd be surprised how satisfying and efficient a down-shift can be when executed properly.
3:45 - WTF are you talking about here? You leave it in normal mode because comfort is too soft? Huh? There is no comfort mode... It's Dynamic - which you're calling Sport Mode, for some reason - Natural and All Weather. No comfort mode. And the suspension settings are exactly the same in all 3 modes. In Dynamic mode the throttle response is increased, the steering weight is increased (electronic power steering assist decreased), and i think this is the only mode that activates the electronic differential. In Natural mode, the car is in standard settings. In All Weather mode the throttle response and steering weight is the same as natural, but the traction control and automatic correction levels are increased. Again, no comfort mode, and no change to suspension settings what so ever over all 3 modes.
Beautiful car, with so many gadges that you wonder how you ever did without them. And then there’s the Italian styling, it makes you look over your shoulder if you walk by it. 🍀
Every car is a compromise on something, eg, a Maclaren when you have 3 kids! We just have to decide on what compromises to make. I am lucky to have a Porsche 964, great fun but thirsty and not much space for anthing than 2 people and her handbag. So, I also have a Macan S Diesel, more economical to run, more space, more comfortable and still a lot of fun. But not as much fun or as cool as the 911. So what is the relevency of this? We just bought a Giulietta to keep at our place in France. It is FAB! More comfortable and spacious than the 911, more economical than either of the Porche's, has the handling to enjoy the twisty mountain roads at a decent speed. All in all, great fun to drive and somewhat more stylish and sporty than your average family hatch. Not sure that I will have the self discipline to get 80mpg though!
"Likely to break down" while all cars made in England are not even owned by England it self they still have the balls to criticize (besides mclaren of course). Protons Holdins - Malasia Tata Motors - India Bmw - Germany Even Aston Martin is owned by a private Italian firm.. Learn how to make cars and then bash a 100 year old company...
Alfa's do breakdown, they score badly on reliability surveys... i've also had one (as everyone who considers themselves a car fan should own one).... it broke down, a lot.
Monkiimagic Father of a friend of mine bought a 146 back in 2000.Some days after he had the car, both electric windows at the front stopped working. He has told me more about the problems they had,but i cant remember them all.I am sure their cars have come a long way since then but still...
TheBlackestImp Criticare i motori Fiat è a dir poco assurdo.
It's not a fair review at all. This guy doesn't know what he's talking about and/or is just making things up. He said he leaves the car in "normal mode" because "comfort mode" "dampens the suspension too much". 1 - there is no "comfort" mode The settings are D-N-A - Dynamic (which he's calling "sport") Natural, and All Weather. All weather helps with grip in very wet and snow/ice. And 2 - neither of the 3 different driving modes change the suspension settings at all.
Hey thanks for the comments. As we've just pointed out to someone else mate, the pedals are supposed to make heel and toe easier - but they're still too close together and at odd heights, they make the footwell feel too cramped. Ryan has heard of it, he just didn't necessary think it was beneficial in this instance. Maybe we can help set you up with a test drive to see for yourself www.carkeys.co.uk/contact-us?ckytc
Was tempted a couple of years back but could not find a comfortable driving position so never bothered. Nice car but a bit flawed. As for reliability, most cars are buit properly nowdays, this Alfa would be no worse than a Vauxhall/Opel Astra.
well, ford focus , nah, been there done that...VW golf, boring, stiff interior, spartan-like feel, naaaaahh audi a3 ...too expensive, skoda/seat..same boring thing as a vw... When looking for a nice looking, well build car, people nowadays have not much choice to be honest. A jeep renegade even has crossed my mind, since it sets itself apart in looks and feel. And when in look for a decently build, nicely looking and affordable daily familycar...lots of different models and brands I would never look at before suddenly are in the market! And the french-brands just don't cut it for me, even though i have to admit a renault f.e. isn't a bad choice, just not for me. This alfa though...goes on my list for the first time ever ! Strange days!
It's quite funny when journalists describe ride quality in sports mode being too harsh - given that the car doesn't have adjustable dampers... The suspension is 100% the same on all driving modes because they have zero active components.
1) I don't really get this question, you can remove the boot cover and that way you have access to the back seats? 2) Nope, only FWD, this ain't no Subaru (though a chip tuned Giulietta QV can perform like a WRX)
Hannah Williamson totally! i have mine about 3years now, i've teached my gf how to drive in this car and it wasn't a problem for her.. its a real easy and fun car to drive..haven't regret it so far!! i think its a comfy car even if you're haulin ass 😂 i really recommend it 👌
Italian cars are known to have character and style, this Alfa is no exception. Reliability or the lack of it are things of the past as a broad rule, Alfa used to make good and bad cars in that respect, like many others, Italian or not.
Great car. Smashes the vw in looks. Makes you look back when you park it
Yeah lovely car aam!
aam voor I absolutely adore my Giulietta, I'll be getting another one 😍
Every single damn time! I have owned the car since august and not ONCE have i not turned back to look at it! not even when I'm in a hurry! Greatest purchase I have ever made!
all alfa does
100%i always do it looks best on the car park and people look at it like whats that hahaha
I own a Giulietta and i am very proud of Her..: beautiful and sexy, very well performing,
defenetly better than any anonimous german competitor.
Regular service, washing and a warm garage and your Alfa will love for ever.
i have coverd over thirty thousand miles in mine now and it has never missed a beat, excellent fuel economy
I've just bought a Guilletta on a 2014 plate. Before that I drove a X type jaguar. And I speak as find I am well impressed with the guilietta. I would rather drive my Alfa than my jaguar. I bought my 2.0 diesel yesterday, I'll get it in 4 days, can't wait :)
Funkdreamer88 how is the car? :)
Im in love with it. Best car I've owned so far.
Funkdreamer88 would you recommend it for a second car?
I mean, if you can afford it, definitely.
@@Funkdreamer88 still going strong?

Got a 2010 QV 1750 tbi - and I love it to bits! Also very practical and comfortable even for long-distance trips. Golf? What Golf?

Got 1.4 TB with Alfa installed LPG. Excellent performance and great economy having LPG at 0.65 euro.

Giulietta is cool, calm, and collected. Not so much about the presenter, edgy, stressed, and always in a rush. Does she make you feel that nervous? :)
Everyone is in a rush in this punchy little Giulietta...Ryan is a super laid back guy did you have him on 2x playback speed? 😂 Thanks for the comments Dodo 👍
Car Keys UK Cheers :))
The pedals are close together to facilitate heel-toe. Guess the presenter has never heard of it.

+GOJIN1980 take it your a racing driver! how many people would be buying the Alfa for day to day driving to heel and toe, dear me 😂.
The pedals for UK versions are this close to each other ! Otherwise the usual left-sided giulietta`s pedals are better located.
Dave 101 - I'm with Gojin1980: All the Alfas I've owned/driven have had close-set pedals - 147,156, 159, Giulietta. Squadrone Rosso yeah I was thinking did it have adaptive suspension or not

I have a 2013 giulietta from new, all is well mechanically, however some plastic bits are of rather bad quality...
I know where I'm getting my advice from now on, cause ... well first fair review I've seen of this car.
It's not a fair review at all. This guy doesn't know what he's talking about and/or is just making things up. Awesome Alfa Romeo.
Love the exterior styling, although as said in the video, the interior lacks in some areas. Great review by the way :)
I love my Giulietta it’s the best car I have owned and I may buy a second older model 👍
Feedback: the dash contains no carbon fiber. It's plastic made to look like it. The pedals are that close to help you heel and toe.

Own giulietta is driven 140tkm and 0 issues.
Is you nomal driving position that far from the steeringwheel? looks like 3:57 you can hardly do corners

I jumped when the dude flopped out the boot
Good video! Fair play 👍🏼
nice review. I did see person in the back😀 nice car but waiting for model 2017. expecting some tech upgrade.
The touchscreen is standard but the sat nav is over £1000!
Manufacture Sat Navs are rarely worth the money or even stack up well against the competition of free or third party Sat Navs.
Does the 2016 version have android auto or Apple CarPlay?
I own a QV a FANTASTIC car much better than any of the german ones.
Mine is amazing.
It's quite funny when journalists describe ride quality in sports mode being too harsh - given that the car doesn't have adjustable dampers... The suspension is 100% the same on all driving modes because they have zero active components.
DNA is all alfa is about the sportiness and the handling are better than a golf
had one and hated it. never broken down but the interior feel to bits
After a 17 plate, how’s reliability?
1) is this a hatchback with access to the rear seat from the hatch? if not, then it should be! hatchbacks are so much more functional. 2) is this AWD?
1) I don't really get this question, you can remove the boot cover and that way you have access to the back seats?
2) Nope, only FWD, this ain't no Subaru (though a chip tuned Giulietta QV can perform like a WRX)
Pick my 2018 2.0 JTDM voloce tommo and I carnt wait!!
How’s the reliability been?
2:19 ha!
Is this good for a first car? And what's the ride like comfort wise?
Hannah Williamson totally! i have mine about 3years now, i've teached my gf how to drive in this car and it wasn't a problem for her.. its a real easy and fun car to drive..haven't regret it so far!! i think its a comfy car even if you're haulin ass 😂 i really recommend it 👌
Imagine if the top of the back was like a golf. It would be so nice
Beautiful car with poor substantiated reviews
so cute
It kind of reminds me of my Fiat 500x
All these car review programs are the same .... except for Top Gear
We still like her more than you
It's German now, so possibly more reliable than the awful Italian produced Alfas
What?
Still Italian mind you and very much so. And that by the way is one of its merits
Devoted Audiophile one of greatest merits used to be unreliability, and that's the Italian merit you must be talking about
Italian cars are known to have character and style, this Alfa is no exception. Reliability or the lack of it are things of the past as a broad rule, Alfa used to make good and bad cars in that respect, like many others, Italian or not.
Lambos are German now, Alfa belongs to Fiat so still italian
With a name like Giulietta and the styling a total chicks car with big dangling earrings and a Birkin handbag....Dahling!
So gulietta has adaptive dampers? Only after facelift? Or is he just imagining it?😀🥸
