Daryl knew Carol was claustrophobic from back in season 1 when they stayed at the CDC and Carol was concerned that they were staying underground. It was an amazing attention to detail and a brilliant callback.
And I love their heart-to-heart because Daryl says he'd probably do the same things she's doing if he was in her position, and we know this is true because he HAS been in that position before, when his impulsive actions got Glenn killed. It caused him to go bloodthirsty for revenge and in turn he ended up crashing the truck into the Sanctuary which ultimately let the saviors free and got more people killed. The only reason Carol didn't stop him was because she was busy fighting for the Kingdom. But she totally would have, I think.
Daryl didn't get Glenn killed. Negan was always going to kill two people.

I've got a feeling something will happen to Daryl and it'll drive Carol to suicide. With Maggie coming back, and with the current hollywood feminist takeover, Angela Kang might kill off Daryl so he doesn't over shadow Maggie. Plus, I dont think Norman Reedus is really down with the whole PC thing anyway. He kinda avoids politics all together.
Its understandable if he wants to step away from it to avoid any undue cancellation and unnecessary vitriol.
Or he could leave the show to join the movies and fight along side Rick once again. That's be cool. They could do a buddy cop type deal, like try and solve crimes and shit during the zombie apocalypse. Where Daryl goes against his code of never becoming a cop, because he loves his big brother Rick that much.
The women run the TV Shows. As long as they continue the well written well timed emotional roller coaster edge of your seat storyline, then I'll be happy.
The men run the Movies, where it can be slightly more comedic, experimental, B rated, Romeroishly, weird and over the top. The type of stuff thatll make girls go "gross" and boys go "yeah". And Michonne has to be in the movies because someone has to keep those two knuckle heads in line.

Kudos to the Kelly character! She showed smarts,bravery,and fighting skills. If anyone should have an issue with Carol it's her! This is the most they've given this actress to do since she came on the

I know we’re all mad at Carol, and I am too, but when she said “She killed my boy” my heart shattered. She’s so blinded by rage and heartbreak she’s putting everyone else in danger. I feel really bad for her, but at the same time I’m like pissed. This show got me fucked up LMFAO

I don't think Connie or Magna are dead...though I think it will be a while before we see them again. One things for sure. Daryl won't ever stop looking. He never stopped looking for Sophia, for Rick, and he'll keep looking for Connie. As rough as it is for Carol and Daryl, I don't think he'll stay mad at her. They've been through too much.

@The Happy Cajun can not nessesary that they will survive and will be rescued within 2-3 weeks scince the whole thing is in whisperer area so there is a chance that they may also be hurt that would lessen their survival chance incredibly but we all know its TWD so there will prob only one person that dies.
They're most likely alive, though I suspect that one may be badly injured.
Yooo I literally hate seeing Daryl sad ughhh. The fact that he spent years looking for Rick and he's determined to look for Connie... Such a ride or die. I saw a few comments saying if Connie and Magna aren't dead (I believe Connie is not dead lol I will not accept it!!!) that we might not see them for awhile. Maybe Maggie and the common wealth will show up soon and help? Find them both? Orrr Connie and Magna will use skins to escape! At this point I just need to see Connie alive and well!!!
I'm wondering if they trapped Connie because the actress was filming her Marvel movie role and had to take some time off of filming TWD. If so, then we very well may not see her (or Magna) for at least a few episodes.

I’m still extremely worried for Jerry. There were holes and blood. I know he was on Talking Dead and SAID everything was ok. But this is The Walking Dead. Also, I’m gonna need Connie to make it back to Kelly and Daryl. Magna back to Yumiko. Side note: I also thought Kelly’s performance was great tonight.

Kelly putting the group's safety ahead of her sister's and her friend was a very adult thing for her to do. I love Carol and always will but she can learn a lesson from Kelly.

I think what makes it so frustrating watching Carol's actions in this episode is that in the past, so many times we've seen characters do stupid things that jeopardizes others. Yes, given all she's been through it does make sense, but I'd hate to see this show fall back on familiar ground (especially when it's a character we love).
That being said, I am constantly amazed how Melissa McBride is so incredible at evoking such emotions in her performances.

This episode gave me serious PTSD watching it. I've been claustrophobic since childhood, and when I was 15 I was on a school trip to Prague, where we went into similar caves. And I had to be escorted out by a guide while the others finished the tour. Never hyperventilated so much in my life. Terrifying. And this episode, especially the part with Jerry getting stuck, just brought it all back.
I refuse to believe that Connie is dead. Nope. Daryl deserves happiness, dammit. And I don't even have words for Carol... 🤬🤬

Lately I’ve been annoyed with carol but after hearing “she killed my boy..” it broke my heart for her. My mom said she would do the same thing if I was killed. Daryl even said he would too. We need to understand what carols gone through. But she needs to take a break and stay back for the safety of the group. I’m so sad now because the rest of the season is daryl is gonna be mad at carol.

I'm so happy I'm finally caught up with TWD and now I got to watch it live! I really hope Darryl gets Connie and Magna out of the cave! And was not expecting that with Negan and Alpha! The scene with Jerry, stuck, with the walkers creeping behind him, gave me some serious PTSD and had me sweating and panicking, one of the most intense.
When I was around 16, I went on a trip through a cave, we had ropes tied eachother so no-one would be left behind, or get lost.
It was tight enough where you could hardly move your arms, with water up to your neck.
The girl infront of me panicked and wouldn't move, the guy behind me was pushing forward, leaving me stuck in that tight cave, with nowhere forward, or back.
I couldn't breathe, I was crying and screaming, eventually the 4 men who were guiding us had to pull and drag us out with all their strength.
That day has tortured me, still, 12 years later.

I have always had a fear of being crushed or all smushed up in a cave or some other really tight space and not being able to move or get out. What you went through would cause PTSD in almost anyone. I'm really glad you are around to be able to tell that story. Stay safe and take care as we deal with this crazy real world pandemic mess. God bless

I love Carol as much as the next person but she's always had the tendency to be reckless. Just like when Rick had to banish her from the jail for murdering the two sick people. Even though we understand her motives, you never know just how far she'll go. And I, for one, will be beyond pissed if Connie was killed. I don't think she was but u never know with TWD. Also, I read somewhere that Alpha and Beta's relationship has always been non sexual.
Lastly, do they sell "whisperer" masks? Cuz, I think I'll surprise my boyfriend wearing it. And only it. Just to see if it's really a turn on! 😜

Right! It's nonsexual but Beta is jealous of anyone getting close to Alpha. He's very jealous of Gamma. The way he watches when she's with Gamma. That's why he wants to kill Gamma but Alpha told him to bring her back. Part of the reason why Alpha sent him away because she knew what she was going to do with Negan.🤮

Negan is going balls deep in his devotion for the whisperers! So glad TWD is back and I couldn't wait to watch this from you guys this morning. I don't want to dislike Carol but man she is making it tough. Also this ranks up there with the "No Sanctuary" episode in epicness. It was so intense and good.
While watching this show, I've seen eyes getting shot out, throats getting slit by cannibals, a barbed wire decorated bat completely smash two guys heads apart, and heads getting put on pikes.
And yet I was much more disturbed when Alpha had sex with Negan while still wearing her mask. How is that even possible? 😂😂
And man, if Walking Dead still doesnt win any Emmy's in the future, can Melissa McBride just win a stinking Oscar for her acting at the end?

I get the frustration with Carol's behavior lately....but let's not forget that Daryl got Glenn killed, and without the trauma driving his actions that Carol has.
Steven I was right there with you when you said it would almost be better if Carol had fallen down the hole into the walker hoard. I love Carol, but she is out of her bloody mind right now! I just hope that Connie and Magna survived and Daryl can rescue them both. Hopefully, Carol has learned her lesson. Also, I'm glad that Jerry survived, because I thought for sure he was a goner!

there were too many times in this episode where I thought Jerry was gonna die. My emotions are all fucked up after this episode haha. Carol definitely feeling that guilt and Daryl giving her the cold shoulder is probably worse than anything he could've said to her.
Also Negan is getting it on with Alpha. I wonder if Negan will use that against her or Beta. Negan's got a plan.
This episode made me more claustrophobic than I already am lol. So worried for Jerry the whole episode, and yet so sad for Connie at the end....not convinced she’s gone till we see a body!

Just wanted to point out that Daryl pissed against the wall in "Still"...inside a house while Beth was watching. He's a nasty drunk, lol.
All things considered I'd say of those left, from start to finish, Maggie's lost the most. Her entire family from Hershel's farm (Patricia, Otis, Hershel, Beth, her mother etc. etc.) all died, she watched her husband get his head bashed in and she was also closer to Enid, Sasha and Jesus than anyone still left alive, not to mention she delivered Judith which indirectly led to Lori's death.

I have never been so disappointed & furious at Carol. EVER. I still understand why she's doing this, but I wish she would stop. My heart breaks for Daryl. CONNIEEEEE!!!! NOOOOO!!!!! I agree you guys. Awesome reaction guys! I’m still going to watch the full reaction all over again on Patreon, but I couldn’t wait. This was quite the premiere. The set up is real. Daryl turning on Carol? Who’d of thought. Negan sexing it up with Alpha? Wow. And we haven’t even gotten to the other plots yet. Makes me think 8 episodes aren’t even going to come close to really confronting the whispers. I guess we’ll see.

Also, Negan might be a horrible person but he's willing to sacrifice himself and be the inside man for the sake of the only two people who actually gave a damn about him. Judith and Lydia. I think that is very nice of him....besides, so many years have passed... he's old, the people who followed him are long gone and the people left will never forget what he did so he won't be in a position of power even if he succeeds.Even Maggie who went to his cell to kill him realised that he is just a shadow of his former self... he just uses that former self as a facade to approach Alpha and the Whisperers... Or at least that's my opinion.
negan is no longer a horrible person he fled from alexandria after killing a women that was helping people trying to rape or even kill lydia but no one belived him and they wanted him killed then he killed that crazy guard that killed a mother and a child he is just at the whisperer camp because thats the only place he can really go except being alone of course

Part of me thinks Connie got out and we will see her come back at a time when someone needs to be rescued. But this is TWD, so I can also see them use her for a key moment when they need to make Darryl vulnerable. I can totally see him looking out at the herd and seeing her in there, and that moment breaking him.
I understand the frustration for Carol's character, but all characters do this at some point. I don't understand the logic of wanting her to die. She made a grave mistake, but so did Daryl. When he gets a beloved character from season 1 killed, everyone just let it go and thought it wasn't his fault. Even if they did, they never hoped for Daryl to die. But when Carol gets two characters that have only been in like a season and a half, she's immediately hated and people wish for her character to die.
